Cleveland Golf – Introduction of the new RTX 4, the most Tour authentic wedge of the brand ever

August 13, 2018 – Cleveland Golf has announced the introduction of the RTX 4, the most Tour-authentic wedge the brand has ever made. Enhanced with fourth generation Rotex, players will experience their best short game performance with the all-new RTX 4. The RTX 4 will launch in Continental Europe on 14th of September, 2018.

Cleveland Golf remains at the forefront of wedge design, producing short game innovations and technologies since 1979. With the RTX 4, Cleveland Golf held nothing back during development, creating a made-for-tour wedge in its purest form. Utilizing the latest face technologies of the company, tour-preferred shaping, expanded grind offerings, and the most popular components used by Tour professionals, the RTX 4 is the most tour-authentic wedge of all time.

“With the new RTX 4, we spared no expense in trying to achieve the best possible wedge for the best players in the world, and then bring that wedge to the consumer,” said Lionel Caron, President Continental Europe Sales at Cleveland Golf. “We worked tirelessly with our tour staff to refine every detail of the wedge and its shape to fit their needs.”

The foundation of RTX 4 is the 4th generation of Cleveland’s proprietary Rotex Face Technology. Following four life cycles, years of research, and millions of data points, the tolerances were tightened to help provide ultimate short game control. RTX 4 generates more spin through the sharpest Tour Zip Grooves, most aggressive face milling, and more precise laser milling for the hottest face Cleveland Golf has ever developed.

Following extensive tour feedback, RTX 4 features a more compact blade shape, with less offset and a smaller overall profile to provide that classic blade design that tour players prefer. Additionally, RTX 4 offers four new sole grinds, including an all-new XLOW grind, to provide the versatility to execute the most challenging greenside shots.

“It feels like the ball is really spinning off the face,” said Shane Lowry. “There are extra little grooves in there, which makes it spin more and it definitely does spin more.”

“I mean it’s got that soft feel which is so nice,” said Graeme McDowell. “I really love the bounce profile here. I like the feeling of using the back bounce on the wedge so, when I look at that, it’s something that really appeals to me.”

“What I love about this wedge is the sole in the bunker,” said Keegan Bradley. “It doesn’t dig in too much, and I’m able to really clip the ball and put a lot of spin on it. We are all very excited to play this wedge.”

“Having something that you can mishit a little bit and still see the results of what you’re trying to accomplish is amazing,” said Sean Crocker.

“Cleveland wedges have already been the best wedges in the game, and this just makes it even better because to improve on their wedges is something hard to do, but they’ve done it with RTX 4.”

KEY INNOVATIONS INSIDE RTX 4

  • Rotex Face Technology: The 4th generation Rotex Face features Cleveland’s sharpest grooves and most aggressive face milling pattern.
  • Tour-Developed Sole Grinds: Four sole grinds, deliver enough versatility to execute every short game shot imaginable.
  • Progressive Feel Balancing Technology: Next-generation Feel Balancing Technology is optimized by loft for even more short game control.
  • Tour-Authentic Components: RTX 4 comes standard with the #1 wedge shaft and #1 wedge grip on the PGA Tour.
  • Tour Shaping: Tour-driven compact shaping uses less offset to provide more workability and confidence at address.

Cleveland’s RTX 4 wedges are offered in a variety of different degrees and grinds. The FULL Sole grind is offered in 56 through 60 degrees, the ●●MID Sole grind is offered in 46 through 60 degrees, the LOW Sole grind is offered in 56 through 64 degrees, and the XLOW Sole grind is offered in 58 and 60 degree lofts.

The wedges are available in two different finishes, (Tour Satin and Black Satin) and left and right-handed options. Cleveland’s RTX 4 wedges are priced at 139.99€.

DRIVERS GUIDE 2018 – Choose your driver according to ‘your attitude to the game’

March 26, 2018 – Ready for the new season? Take a look at the new 2018 drivers that have just arrived in the golf shops, packed with breakthrough technological advances designed to help you, in amazing ways, to get your best score. Which one should you choose?

Until recently it was relatively easy to distinguish between customizable drivers and distance drivers, but now each brand offers adjustability in their models in both categories, and we could say that with a similar playability and performance in terms of low spin, forgiveness, ball speed and distance, it is difficult to distinguish for the amateur player. Therefore, it is not so much about your level of golf but more ‘your attitude to the game’: if you want to customize the driver to optimize the distance; or if you’d rather arrive, address and hit a good shot; or if you’d prefer to enjoy a premium high end driver.

Anyway, the best option is to have a personalized fitting, with accredited professionals, in a trustworthy golf shop or pro shop, because one of these drivers is sure to take your game from the tee to the next level.

Srixon – Matt Atkins wins at Web.com Tour with Z-STAR XV Yellow golf ball

May 2, 2017 – Srixon and Cleveland Golf congratulate staffer Matt Atkins for his first Web.com Tour victory at the El Bosque Mexico Championship by Innova over the weekend in Leon, Guanajuato, in Mexico. Atkins shot a bogey-free, 4-under-par 68 in the final round at El Bosque Country Club to post a winning total of 17-under par, three strokes clear of second place.

“I don’t even know how to put it in words. It’s just such an honor to win in general,” said Matt Atkins. “This puts me in a really good spot.”

A 26-year-old native of Aston, Penn., Atkins handled windy conditions all week, emerging as the only player in the field to post all four rounds in the 60s. His first-place check of $117,000 vaults him from 87th to sixth on the Web.com Tour money list – an excellent position to earn PGA Tour playing privileges next season.

That prize should be especially useful for Atkins and his family this summer. He is getting married over the week of the Web.com Tour Nashville Golf Open in late June.

“It feels so great to accomplish this goal so early, it’s definitely a nice little wedding gift for us,” Matt Atkins said.

Atkins won using a bag of Srixon equipment, including the Srixon Z-STAR XV Tour Yellow golf ball. Featuring a Dual Energetic Gradient Growth core with a larger, softer inner core, the Z-STAR XV generates consistently high ball speed on full shots and enhances greenside spin control with the Spin Skin coating. Atkins also trusted Srixon Z Series golf clubs en route to victory: the Z 765 Driver, the Z F65 Fairway Wood, the Z U65 Utility Iron, and Z 965 Irons. Z Series clubs feature the most innovative technology Srixon has ever created in golf clubs, helping skilled players improve distance and accuracy.

Atkins also used three Cleveland Golf RTX-3 Blade Tour Raw wedges (50° V-MG, 56° V-MG, 60° V-LG). RTX-3 wedges include three of Cleveland’s most innovative wedge technologies ever for the ultimate short-game control and consistency – Feel Balancing, V Sole grinds and the third-generation Rotex Face.
