September 18, 2025 – Mizuno USA has announced a new leadership structure within its Golf Division, spotlighting the company’s ongoing commitment to growth, innovation, and supporting golfers at every level of the game.
Chris Voshall has been appointed Director of Golf, bringing years of industry knowledge, product expertise, and a deep understanding of the Mizuno brand. Voshall will oversee the division’s strategic direction, guiding the team with a renewed focus on elevating Mizuno’s presence in the golf industry.
Joining him is Tim Botschner, who will serve as Senior Manager of Golf Sales. Botschner will lead Mizuno’s sales initiatives with a focus on strengthening retail partnerships and supporting sales personnel in the field.
Additionally, Tyler Schaaf has been named Manager of Golf Custom Fitting, where he will lead Mizuno’s efforts to further develop and maintain its long-standing reputation as the industry’s fitting leader. His expertise will help ensure golfers continue to experience the performance benefits of Mizuno’s advanced fitting technologies.
These leadership appointments build upon Mizuno’s recent investments in the Golf Division, including a new tour truck, sales vans, enhanced demo and fitting carts, updated software, and expanded personnel. Together, these efforts reinforce Mizuno’s commitment to providing premium experiences for golfers and partners alike.
“We are confident that Chris, Tim, and Tyler will continue to strengthen Mizuno Golf in their new roles,” said Tim Rumer, Sr. Vice President of Business Development, Mizuno USA. “Each has a long track record of success within Mizuno, and their leadership ensures stability, expertise, and a forward-looking vision as we build the next chapter for our Golf Division.”
Mizuno continues to expand its golf team and capabilities, with additional hires and resources planned in the coming months. These changes represent Mizuno’s dedication to innovation, craftsmanship, and supporting the game of golf worldwide.
August 11, 2025 – Mizuno has announced the release of new finish options across two core golfclub models in its current lineup: the JPX 925 Hot Metal irons and Mizuno Pro T-3 wedges. These latest additions reflect Mizuno’s ongoing focus on player preferences, craftsmanship, and tailored performance.
Each new finish maintains the underlying design philosophy and engineering integrity of the original model, while offering golfers refined aesthetic options to suit individual preferences and playing environments.
JPX 925 Hot Metal: Black Ion, Revolutionary Iron
The JPX 925 Hot Metal irons, recognised for their blend of distance, control and fitting versatility, are now available in a standout Black Ion finish. Built around a Nickel Chromoly chassis with strategically placed tungsten weighting in the 4–7 irons, the Hot Metal design continues to provide a high-launch, high-speed platform with consistency across the face.
The addition of the Black Ion finish offers a fresh visual identity while maintaining the same trusted performance, reducing glare, and aligning the iron’s look with its modern, technology-led profile.
RRP JPX 925 Hot Metal Black: 215€ per club
Mizuno Pro T-3: Stability Reimagined in Black
The Pro T-3 wedge, recognised for its blend of forgiveness and feel, returns in a commanding Black Ion finish. Its shallow cavity back, combined with a longer head shape, offers increased stability on off-centre strikes, perfect for golfers seeking consistency without sacrificing finesse.
The forging process, groove structure (Quad Cut + Hydroflow Micro Grooves), and copper underlay remain unchanged, ensuring the T-3 continues to deliver reliable spin and control in all conditions. Three grind options (S, M, and C) support various short game needs, and the darker finish offers a cleaner visual at setup, particularly in bright light or firm turf conditions.
RRP Mizuno Pro T-3 Black Ion: 230€
A third new colourway, the Mizuno Pro T-1 in Denim Copper, will be available exclusively in the US, while Europe will see the JPX 925 Hot Metal in Black Ion and the Mizuno Pro T-3 in Black Ion.
These new finishes are intended to provide players with greater visual choice while preserving the integrity and performance characteristics that define each model, reinforcing Mizuno’s commitment to incremental innovation, player-centric design, and a refined balance of feel, feedback, and form.
So, whatever your preference, Mizuno’s latest colour-ups ensure your gear looks as good as it plays.
June 3, 2025 – Mizuno Golf has officially launched its brand-new DP World Tour Truck – a purpose-built, state-of-the-art mobile facility that marks a bold step forward in the brand’s commitment to supporting its tour staff and boosting its presence on the professional golf circuit.
Replacing the previous model after 15 years of service, the new vehicle has been completely reimagined to meet the evolving needs of today’s game – delivering more space, more functionality, and a more immersive brand experience.
The introduction of the new Tour Truck represents a pivotal step in Mizuno’s broader growth strategy, both in the immediate and long-term future. While its primary role is to deliver best-in-class support to tour staff, the vehicle will also serve as a powerful tool for engaging retail partners.
Building on the recent expansion of Mizuno’s custom fitting network – bolstered by the addition of dedicated Golf Technical Representatives (GTRs) – the truck will take centre stage at an increased number of ‘Tour Experience Days’, giving retailers the opportunity to offer their customers a true tour-level custom fitting service.
Though purpose-built for the DP World Tour, the truck’s use will extend well beyond. It will play a key role at R&A events, LET tournaments, and various feeder tours—underpinning Mizuno’s commitment to emerging talent through its “Young Lions” strategy.
It will also have a presence at selected events across EMEA in other sporting disciplines, acting as a versatile brand ambassador for categories such as running and beyond—reinforcing that this is not just a golf investment, but a broader brand initiative.
Although the previous truck is being retired from the road, it will still play a part in Mizuno’s development. It will take on a new role as a permanent fixture at Mizuno’s EMEA Tour base at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club. Echoing the concept behind “The Foundry” in the US, the site will offer a premium Mizuno experience, becoming a hub for fitting, service, and brand interaction.
It will also enable the tour team to service players while the lead truck is in transit, ensuring continuous support regardless of location.
Measuring 17.5 metres in length and expanding to nearly 5 metres in width when deployed, the truck offers a total of three dedicated zones, each tailored to a specific operational purpose.
The heart of the operation lies in the 23-square-metre workshop – a significantly enlarged space designed to allow multiple club technicians to work simultaneously without obstruction.
Every Mizuno staff player’s preferred shafts, grips and heads are now carried onboard, ensuring that equipment can be adjusted, rebuilt, or customised on-site with speed and precision.
A new laser engraving machine brings wedge personalisation and bespoke putter sight-lines directly into the truck, providing services that were previously only possible off-site.
Alongside the workshop is the 13.5-square-metre player service area, a welcoming and highly functional space where tour staff can collect their weekly allocation of hats, gloves, balls, towels and other essentials from dedicated pigeonholes.
The area is equipped with two fridges, a microwave grill, coffee machine, large sofa and a high-top desk with multiple workstations—making it as comfortable as it is practical during the high demands of tournament weeks.
At the front of the vehicle, Mizuno has introduced a 14.8-square-metre office and showroom designed with complete flexibility in mind. Outfitted with modular furniture and a slat wall system throughout, the space can be rapidly reconfigured to support operational meetings, product displays, or brand showcases.
While its primary function is to serve the needs of Mizuno’s golf division, the area also provides potential for use during retail activations, offering a premium, on-brand environment wherever it’s parked.
Crowning the new truck is a roof terrace—a distinctive feature that offers guests a unique perspective on the week’s action. Overlooking practice ranges, event villages or activation zones, the terrace transforms the truck into a premium hospitality space, bringing partners and visitors closer to the game in a way that few other tour vehicles can offer.
Beyond its layout and design, the new truck is fitted with modern technological upgrades to support the daily demands of tour life. High-speed internet via Starlink ensures seamless connectivity, while a Sonos sound system allows different music to be played across three independent zones. Full air conditioning throughout ensures that the interior remains comfortable and efficient in all weather conditions.
This latest investment signals a new chapter for Mizuno’s DP World Tour operations. Designed to deliver an exceptional level of service to its staff players and the team of expert fitters and technicians, the new truck also provides a flexible and powerful platform for brand engagement at the biggest events in European golf.
True to Mizuno’s heritage, the project reflects the brand’s deep-rooted focus on craftsmanship and innovation—values that continue to drive its growth. Custom fitting remains a core pillar of Mizuno Golf’s business, and this latest development further cements the brand’s commitment to that ethos.
With its expanded capabilities and vastly upgraded on-site experience, the Mizuno Tour Truck is set to become a standout presence wherever it goes.
January 15, 2024 – Grayson Murray announced his arrival as an official Mizuno player in style – winning the Sony Open in Hawaii. With a (-17) finish over 4 rounds, Murray claimed his first PGA Tour win at the age of 30. Murray had previously won with Mizuno equipment (uncontracted) on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023, working his way to PGA Tour status.
Tournament stats highlight that Murry was a deserving winner – ranked #1 on shots gained from the tee (with Mizuno ST-230 series drover) and #1 in strokes gained tee to green (T24 wedges).
Mizuno is increasingly focusing its efforts on tour towards emerging talent – a trait Murray is known to have in abundance. Murray won the IMG Junior World titles in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Murray was also the second youngest player to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour aged 16, before playing in the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion as a 19 year old.
“Mizuno’s tour focus is to support talented players make the hardest step – into the elite level of the game. In 2023 we saw Ben Griffin and Marco Penge make that move. It’s really special to see Grayson to do the same so early into 2024. We say that Mizuno equipment is ‘Tour Ready’ in that we supply the same heads to retail and the tour. So players outside of the elite tours can put a set of Mizuno’s into play, knowing that its the same quality we supply Luke Donald and our workshops. Its good for the players and makes sure Mizuno always has a pipeline of talented players coming through”, says Chris Voshall, Director of Mizuno Golf.
May 29, 2023 – Mizuno’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt (27) has won her first Ladies European Tourevent with a closing of 66 (-6) to win the 2023 Belgian Ladies Open by two shots at Naxhelet Golf Club. The German talent is an LET rookie – having only secured her card through the LET Access Tour last season.
Schmidt won playing Mizuno ST-G 220 driver (9 degree), Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi (2,3,4), Mizuno Pro 223 (5-PW) and Mizuno T22 wedges (50/54/58).
With her first win, Schmidt jumps from 84th to eighth in the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol.
“I don’t really have any words to say right now! I was just so nervous on the last tee. I really felt like I was shaking when I had to line my putt – says Patricia Isabel Schmidt –.
I wasn’t aware of my position at all. I saw the leaderboard out there once, but I didn’t see it clearly enough. I just saw the colours of a flag and thought it looked like a Spanish flag. The eagle on 14 was nice. I hit a really good drive and then only had an eight-iron in.
My dad was caddying today. He was joining me for the first time ever since I started playing golf, because I was flying to Brussels and my dad had a week off, so he picked me up and took my bag with me. I guess it all kind of worked out!
This win will give me a lot of trust and confidence. I came from LETAS last year and played quite well. Then I struggled at the beginning of this year and put myself under a lot of pressure, so I knew okay, I need to show that I belong here instead of just playing. This will help a lot to give me that confidence.”
March 14, 2023 – Mizuno Golf has once again proven its excellence in the golf industry by winning numerous awards at the 2023 Hot List from one of the most competitive golf community and news outlets: Golf Digest.
With its innovative technology and exceptional quality, Mizuno Golf has secured its position as a top-performing brand in the game.
MIZUNO ST-Z 230 DRIVERS Golf Digest:“The multilevel face-thickness pattern creates more consistent ball speed across a wider area and is further enhanced by the weight-saving carbon-composite crown and sole sections. A heavy back weight also provides stability on mis-hits.”
MIZUNO ST-Z 230 FAIRWAY WOODS Golf Digest:“These fairway woods likely fit a better player’s eye, but they neatly hide the elements that allow them to play with the additional forgiveness average golfers need. Those include a lightweight carbon-composite crown that frees up mass for a rear weight screw and internal weight pad. Together, they increase stability on off-center hits and produce a higher launch.”
MIZUNO PRO 223 IRONS Golf Digest:“Legend has it that Mizuno founder Rihachi Mizuno required the company’s baseballs to bounce precisely to his eye level—4 feet, 5 inches—when dropped from a height of 16.5 feet, or they were rejected. Such dedication to precision continues in this iron. Some might say this set is ahead of its time. We say it’s a potential template for players irons right now.”
MIZUNO PRO 225 IRONS Golf Digest:“Despite having a hollow body, the Pro 225 is the most classic-looking of the group, and it might be the peppiest, too. Some hollow-body irons use elastomer inside the head to dampen sound (which can reduce face flex), but the Pro 225 goes without an elastomer. Instead, sound and feel are controlled by the rigidness of the body.”
MIZUNO JPX923 Tour IRONS Golf Digest:“For such a straightforward-looking iron there is a lot to admire. To appeal to better players, Mizuno shortened the clubhead length in the 6-iron through pitching wedge compared to its previous model, the JPX921 Tour.”
MIZUNO JPX923 Forged IRONS Golf Digest:“Distance is the desire here, and the ball takes off like a dragster racing toward the green thanks to a little extra zip on the 4- through 6-iron, which feature a wider back-milled “micro-slot” deep within the sole cavity The extra-thin face yields a deeper center of gravity for an easier launch.”
MIZUNO JPX923 Hot Metal IRONS Golf Digest:“The clubhead is larger than its Hot Metal Pro counterpart, offering comfort at address for the less-skilled. Still, there are highly meaningful design properties that players of any level can appreciate.”
MIZUNO JPX923 Hot Metal Pro IRONS Golf Digest:“This iron features a relatively compact shape and thin topline to fit the eye of better players seeking workability as much as distance. Because so much weight is placed low and back, the lofts can be aggressive without sacrificing height.”
MIZUNO JPX923 Hot Metal HL IRONS Golf Digest:“Mizuno estimates close to half of all golfers might be flying a 7-iron farther than a low-lofted 5-iron. That led to a change in thinking: The way to increase distance in this club is to make the lofts weaker by 2 to 3 degrees compared to others in the JPX923 line.”
MIZUNO T-22 WEDGES Golf Digest:“The T22 is one of the few forged models in this category. Mizuno takes pride in offering a variety of options in wedges just like it does with irons. Also, the X grind has extreme heel, toe and trailing-edge relief to bring out the short-game artist in you.”
Mizuno’s consistent presence in these coveted lists remains a testament to Mizuno’s meticulous and unique forging process and years of creating performance gear to take players to the next level.
February 1, 2023 – As the culmination of a rigorous 3-year project of testing and development, the latest Mizuno RB TourandMizuno RB Tour X golf balls are engineered for the next generation of Tour players. Additional test year with 99 prototypes to develop unique low spin 272 dimple configuration.
After the success of the previous RB Tour range, Mizuno set two research and development teams the task of working together to enhance the original design. 99 prototypes and 3-years of exhaustive testing later, Mizuno has created a golf ball that provides golfers with the perfect harmony of dimple configuration, construction, compression and cover.
“The ultimate difference with the new RB Tour has been the time spent working on the prototypes. 3-years of player, robot and greenside feedback across every possible performance attribute. Via parallel R&D teams – our original ball group in Japan, backed up by a new unit in Atlanta US,” says David Llewellyn – Director of R&D, Mizuno USA.
One of the standout features of the new RB Tour range is the unique AXIAFLOW dimple. On full shots, the new dimple generates a higher driver flight and flatter wedge flight, compared to other tour-level balls. Creating a more defined visual look, the new 272 dimple pattern provides a larger and more precise outline on the golf ball, a visual effect that our testers preferred.
A traditionally soft feel is always expected from Mizuno, something the RB Tour and RB Tour X deliver in spades. Also, responding to feedback from many Mizuno fans and elite level golfers, ensuring improved durability of the RB Tour cover was a central theme behind the R&D of the new RB Tour design. After comprehensive testing, along with feedback from players, the new RB Tour range promises to deliver repeatable consistency and durability throughout the round.
Providing a golf ball that excels for both tour level golfers and the average amateur has been a focus for Mizuno through their development process. The RB Tour X is engineered for low driver spin, while the RB Tour provides an even lower spin rate, designed for a new generation of players with faster clubhead speeds.
“We purposefully slanted the performance of both RB Tour models towards our younger elite players. Both models launch high off the driver – one with low spin, the other lower. Yet both balls demonstrated a flatter flight from full wedge shots. A remarkable accomplishment from the aerodynamics team in Japan,” says Chris Voshall – Director of Product, Mizuno USA.
Both RB Tour models are available in the U.K. and the rest of Europe from February 2023.
RRP: Mizuno RB Tour, 55€; Mizuno RB Tour X, 55€ (box of 12 golf balls).

September 23, 2022 –Mizuno, the Japanese equipment manufacturer long renowned for its expertise in the manufacture of irons, has unveiled its new JPX923 Series of irons, inspired by data from hundreds of thousands of real golf swings. The series features three metals and five head options. All distinctively Mizuno.
Mizuno’s new JPX923 series of irons are the latest chapter in Mizuno’s highly successful JPX story. The family of irons has been engineered for custom performance to offer the ultimate blend of looks, feel and workability. The JPX923 Series has been developed alongside Mizuno’s comprehensive custom-fitting program to deliver exceptional performance and help all golfers get the very most from their games, from elite tour players to slow-swinging amateurs, and every player in between.
The new family features five unique iron models created from three specific metals and developed using Swing DNA data from over 350,000 real golfers. The expanded head options combine with one of over 50 custom shafts for specific trajectory, ball speed and ease of use to create options for players of all standards.
“The new JPX923 series was planned out with Mizuno’s custom ethos at its core” says David Llewellyn, Director of R&D for Mizuno. “We already offer more than 50 unique shafts within our custom program, by expanding to five iron models, there’s an ideal combination for every type of player.”
Mizuno’s Swing DNA System records 40 unique data points from more than 175,000 golfers each year. This data provides the basis for every JPX Iron project.
“We’re constantly evolving the JPX series based on more than 175,000 unique swings we capture every year on the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer,” says Bill Price, Mizuno’s Director of Fitting. “Recently we’re seeing an increase in the number of players with slightly slower swing speeds being fitted – and a trend to more shaft lean. Hence a slight increase in bounce angles through all the models and the introduction of the Hot Metal High Launch.”
The JPX923 series comprises: JPX923 Tour featuring a new V-Chassis and thinner topline, JPX923 Forged showcasing Mizuno’s 3rd generation of Chromoly Forging and JPX923 Hot Metal, JPX923 Hot Metal Pro and JPX Hot Metal HL all featuring new, faster 4335 Nickel Chromoly – 35% stronger than Mizuno’s original Chromoly.
JPX923 Tour / Layers of Feel
Consistently Mizuno’s most-played iron model in professional golf and still one-piece Grain Flow Forged in Hiroshima Japan from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel, the JPX923 Tour adds a copper underlay for an even smoother sensation at impact. The JPX923 Tour also presents a narrower top line and sole in tandem with more rounded trailing edge for cleaner turf interaction. Player enhancements made possible through the introduction of Mizuno’s new ‘V-Chassis’.
The JPX923 Tour is a shallow cavity suitable for elite amateurs and professionals, featuring refined scoring irons that are more compact with a noticeably shorter blade length from 6-iron to GW for precision where it’s most needed. The irons are finished with a non-reflective white-satin brush.
“The goal was to engineer a compact, players cavity back that looked and felt like a muscleback at impact. With the copper underlay and new topline, the JPX923 Tour is right there,” says David Llewellyn.
Availability and RRP: JPX923 Tour (4-GW RH), €195.00. February 2023.
JPX923 Forged / Solid Feel, Real Speed
A mid-sized, full body Grain Flow Forged iron delivering a perfect balance of ball speed, stability, and feel. The 3rd generation of Chromoly Forging (4-7 iron) incorporates a milling slot that extends wider to heel and toe. Paired with an even thinner clubface it creates Mizuno’s highest one-piece Forged ball speeds from an even greater portion of the clubface. The irons showcase a thinner top line throughout, plus compact scoring irons (8-GW) and bevelled sole for improved turf interaction.
The JPX923 Forged is a mid-size cavity iron suitable for a wide range of players, from professionals to mid-handicap amateurs. The 4-7 iron are Forged from a single billet of 4120 Chromoly and back milled from to heel and toe. This creates extreme ball speeds from a compact workable profile. The face thickness is now reduced to just 2.2 mm behind impact compared to 2.6mm in the JPX921 Forged. The 8-iron to GW are forged from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel for ultimate precision, control and feel in the scoring zone. 8-iron to GW are more compact with shorter blade length for further control.
“The new JPX923 Forged pulls off two impressive achievements. First it feels more solid even though it’s faster from the face. Second, it looks sleeker with a thinner topline and narrower sole even though it plays more forgiving,” says Chris Voshall, Mizuno’s Director of Product.
Availability and RRP: JPX923 Forged (4-GW RH and LH), €195.00. February 2023.
JPX923 Hot Metal / The Fastest Flying, Fast Stopping Irons
Introducing Nickel Chromoly – A new material with so much additional ball speed, the engineers switched their focus to feel and stopping power. At 35% stronger than our original Hot Metal material, 4335 Nickel Chromoly enables a high-energy 8% thinner clubface. Combined with Mizuno’s vibration controlling V-Chassis and deep CG design, the JPX923 Hot Metal irons are as enjoyable and controllable as they are long. The seamless cup face construction delivers the deep centre of gravity needed for a high launch and controllable landing angle for increased stopping power whilst the thinnest part of the sole has been extended 18% wider to create a wider high-energy area on the face for more consistent ball speeds.
There are three fitting options – Hot Metal Pro, Hot Metal and Hot Metal HL (High Launch.) 175,000 real golf swings recorded via Mizuno’s Swing DNA system every year highlighted the need for variable launch options.
“There are so many different kinds of players looking for increased ball speed from their irons, we needed more options for them at a fitting level. The custom studios use shaft selection incredibly well to help with launch angle or slower swing speeds, but the JPX923 Hot Metal HL gives them a great new tool to work with,” says Chris Voshall.
JPX923 Hot Metal Pro is a player’s speed cavity that’s compact, with minimal offset for confident ball-strikers seeking maximum ball speed. It’s suitable for low to mid handicap golfers.
JPX923 Hot Metal is a forgiving speed cavity suitable for mid to high handicap golfers. It features a full speed, high stability cavity for straight flight and distance.
JPX923 Hot Metal HL is a high launch speed cavity delivering a higher launching option for players with moderate swing speeds or aggressive shaft lean, it’s suitable for mid to high handicap golfers.
Availability and RRP: JPX923 Hot Metal Pro (4-PW RH and LH), €195.00; JPX923 Hot Metal (4-LW RH and LH), €175.00; JPX923 Hot Metal High Launch (5-SW RH only), €175.00. September 2022.
All JPX923 irons will be available through the Mizuno Custom Program, which offers one of the widest selections of no upcharge shafts and grips in the industry. It provides a comprehensive range of custom fitting options, from state-of-the-art Mizuno Performance Centres spread throughout the world to a global network of Mizuno Fitters and Swing DNA Fitting Centres that rely on the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer and high-tech Swing DNA software to pinpoint each customer’s best-performing specifications.
Mizuno has always strived to “create the best products for consumers,” and the entire JPX923 iron family adheres firmly to that spirit and desire, while offering the best performance benefits that modern technology can bring.
