Srixon – Introduction of the new Soft Feel golf ball: softness never brought you this far

15 August 2018 – Srixon, a global leader in golf ball technology and innovation, has announced the launch of the new Soft Feel golf ball. The Srixon Soft Feel is available in Soft White and Tour Yellow and officially is launched today in Europe, on August 15, 2018.

Now in its 11th generation, Srixon engineered the latest iteration of the Soft Feel specifically for golfers wanting to maximize distance and control with exceptional feel. Featuring a soft cover, innovative core, and upgraded dimple pattern, the Soft Feel delivers all-around performance from tee to green at an unmatched price… Longer. Softer. Better. The new Soft Feel from Srixon.

“The all-new Soft Feel was designed to help players maximize their distance off the tee, while providing even better feel and control,” said Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development.

“The latest generation of Soft Feel accomplishes this goal offering a lower compression ball for incredible distance, but a softer cover to provide that greenside performance all players crave. The Soft Feel provides all-around performance at an incredible value which really separates this golf ball from the rest.”

KEY TECHNOLOGIES OF THE NEW SRIXON SOFT FEEL

  • Energetic Gradient Growth Core: Soft Feel’s core technology provides a high-launch, low spin trajectory off the tee for added distance with an ultra-soft feel.
  • Soft, Thin Cover: The softer, thinner cover promotes more greenside spin and a softer feel on all pitches, chips and putts.
  • 338 Speed Dimple Pattern: The upgraded dimple pattern reduces drag and cuts through the wind for more accuracy and consistency on every shot.

INDEPENDENT TEST RESULTS

Srixon worked with Golf Laboratories, Inc. to conduct independent, outdoor robot testing of the new Soft Feel golf ball against key competitors. The results show how Soft Feel provides optimal tee-to-green performance at an incredible value:

  • The Energetic Gradient Growth Core and new 338 Speed Dimple Pattern provide ideal launch conditions and less drag, which delivers longer driver distance than more expensive ionomer cover competitors.
  • The Soft Feel stands apart in terms of accurate iron play. The core technology, along with the new aerodynamic dimple pattern, allows the new Soft Feel to cut through any conditions, offering more distance, consistency and control with your irons.
  • Srixon’s Soft Feel completes its all-around performance, and separates from the competition, with better greenside spin and control. Thanks to the thinner, softer cover, the Soft Feel generates more spin on pitch, chips shots than its more expensive competitors.

The Srixon Soft Feel golf ball officially launches in Europe on August 2018, at a RRP of 24,99€ per dozen. Available in White & Yellow for men and White & Pink for ladies.

Srixon – Ted Potter Jr. wins AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with the Z-STAR XV golf ball

February 12, 2018 – Trusting the tour-validated performance of his Srixon and Cleveland Golf equipment, Ted Potter Jr. stared down the world’s best on his way to a three-shot victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach (California, US). He followed Saturday’s brilliant 62 with a near-flawless final round to capture his second career PGA Tour victory.

Entering the final-round tied for the lead, Potter bogeyed the opening hole to drop one behind the lead.  That would prove to be the only blemish on the card for Potter on Sunday, as he reclaimed the lead by the fifth hole, and never relinquished it.  Potter knows a thing or two about overcoming adversity. After his first PGA Tour victory in 2012, he would suffer a devastating ankle injury that took years to recover from.  This win is a true testament to Ted and his fight back to the top.

“It’s definitely pleasing, it was a struggle there, when you break your ankle and you don’t know what’s going to happen with your golf swing,” Ted Potter Jr. said. “To come back from that, I mean, it’s just unbelievable right now.”

Potter’s Z-STAR XV golf ball and Cleveland RTX-3 wedges helped him to a flawless short-game performance all week which also earned him the number one spot for most birdies in the field (24) and jumped up 102 spots in the FedEx Cup Rankings. On the day, Potter was perfect around the greens, converting every up and down opportunity he faced.

What is in Ted Potter Jr’s golf bag?

  •  Golf ball: Srixon Z-STAR XV
  • Driver: PING G400 (9º, Project X HZRDUS T1100 65 6.0)

Cleveland Golf – Jamie Sadlowski, the longest tour pro of the planet, new global brand ambassador

January 5, 2018 – Cleveland Golf has announced the addition of Jamie Sadlowski to their professional tour staff. Sadlowski, a two-time World Long Drive Champion, agreed to terms on a multi-year contract to serve as a global brand ambassador for Cleveland Golf.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Cleveland Golf as a global brand ambassador,” Jamie Sadlowski said. “As I begin my second year of professional golf around the world, I know the Cleveland Launcher HB Driver, along with the compliment of irons and wedges, will deliver the performance I am looking for.”

Sadlowski, 29, hails from St. Paul, Alberta, where he actually started out as a junior hockey player. Sadlowski began his golfing career on the World Long Drive circuit where he won back-to-back championships in 2008 and 2009, and never finished lower than fifth in the world while competing. In 2016, Sadlowski made the transition to competitive professional golf where he competed in different events around the world. Last year, playing with Callaway Golf equipment, Sadlowski made his PGA Tour debut at the Dean & Deluca Invitational at Colonial Country Club and the Safeway Open, while playing in 10 events on the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada.

Sadlowski will play the Cleveland Launcher HB Driver (specs: 7.75º loft, 57º lie, Nunchuck shaft 45”, Golf Pride Midsized MCC+4 D5 grip), Srixon Z-U65 Utility 2i and 3i, Srixon Z Series irons, Cleveland’s RTX-3 wedges (52°, 56°, 60°), and Srixon’s Z-Star XV golf ball. In addition, Sadlowski will wear a Cleveland Launcher HB hat, Srixon glove, and carry a Cleveland Golf bag.

“As one of the longest tour players on the planet, we know Jamie had many options when selecting his driver,” said Rodney McDonald, Vice President of Tour Operations. “We designed our Launcher HB driver to help all golfers bomb it long and straight – and we’re glad Jamie agrees. I’ve seen many tour players hit drivers, but watching Jamie hit it 370 yards down the fairway in competitive rounds is almost unbelievable. His validation of our technology is really exciting for us.”

With a refined swing geared towards competitive rounds, Sadlowski put together some impressive launch conditions with Cleveland’s Launcher HB Driver in his hands: ball speed of 190.3 mph, launch angle of 9.7°, spin of 2,454 rpm, carry distance of 343 yards and total distance of 372 yards.

“With the Launcher HB driver, I know I will be able to drive the ball longer and straighter which is the key to my game,” Jamie Sadlowski said. “I’ve never been more confident in my golf clubs.”

On January 23st, 2018, Sadlowski will be giving a demonstration and clinic in the Cleveland Golf area at the 2018 PGA Show Demo Day in Orlando (Florida, EE.UU.). He will play in events on the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour and the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada in 2018.

November 16, 2017 – Srixon Sports Europe has announced that it has raised over £40,000 for its 2017 charitable partners, Prostate Cancer UK. The sizeable donation comes on the back of another successful year in the UK, as demand for the 5th generation Z-STAR / Z-STAR XV golf ball continues to grow.

During a recent European Tour event brand ambassador, Graeme McDowell joined Srixon Europe’s Tour Manager, Iain Steele to pose for the cameras with a cheque showcasing the impressive final donation. The Ryder Cup star and former U.S. Open champion, himself, played a key part in the multi-platform promotional campaign that spiked media exposure and drove sales.

The ground-breaking partnership saw Srixon donate £1.50 for every dozen Z-STAR and Z-STAR XV golf balls sold at trade to Prostate Cancer UK, helping to raise funds and awareness of the life-threatening male-specific disease.

To enhance awareness for the campaign and give its loyal customers more value, Srixon introduced a limited edition 15 ball ‘Z-STAR/ Z-STAR XV Bonus Pack’ which included an additional free sleeve of the new Z-STAR / Z-STAR XV, decorated with the iconic Prostate Cancer UK logo.

Commenting on behalf of Srixon Sports Europe, the company’s UK & Ireland President, Leslie Hepsworth said, “2017 has been a fantastic year for the Srixon brand in the UK market and we are really proud that we have been able to raise such a significant amount of money, that we know will be put to great use in fighting such a devastating disease.”

“The partnership delivered on all levels and provided the perfect complement to the launch of the latest iteration of Srixon’s performance-packed Z-STAR / Z-STAR XV golf ball”, he added.

One man dies every hour from prostate cancer, a stark statistic given that the average length of a round of golf is five hours. The charity’s aim is simple: to stop men dying from prostate cancer. This will be done through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support.

Srixon – A significant donation to Prostate Cancer UK presented with Shane Lowry

June 1, 2017 – Srixon Sports Europe last week presented a cheque for £23,173.50 to its charitable partners, Prostate Cancer UK. This follows a successful first three months of sales in UK following the February launch of the new 5th generation Z-STAR / Z-STAR XV.

The game-changing partnership also saw Srixon unveil a limited edition 15 ball ‘Z-STAR/ Z-STAR XV Bonus Pack’. This included an additional free sleeve of the new Z-STAR / Z-STAR XV, decorated with the iconic Prostate Cancer UK logo, giving golfers even more value.

During a recent media event at Camberley Heath Srixon staff player, Shane Lowry joined the company’s UK & Ireland President, Leslie Hepsworth to reveal the total donation to the cameras. The popular Irishman, himself, played a lead role in the promotional campaign that has helped drive sales and enhance multi-platform media exposure. Also involved in the campaign is the Spanish champion Miguel Angel Jimenez.

“Everyone at Srixon has been fully behind this partnership from the very beginning, so naturally we are extremely proud to present this sizeable cheque to Prostate Cancer UK after an encouraging start to the year,” commented Leslie Hepsworth.

The unveiling of this partnership fell in line with the release of Srixon’s best-ever golf ball. Being able, therefore, to offer everyone who purchases the bonus pack the opportunity to raise money for such an important cause, as well trial one of the best balls available in the golf market, couldn’t have worked better.”

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK added: “This is a tremendous start to our innovative relationship with Srixon, and we thank them and all the golfers for raising a brilliant amount of money by purchasing this life-changing ball.

“This exciting venture offers golfers a chance to not only change their game, but also change the lives of other men affected by prostate cancer thanks to the health information on the sleeve and the money raised.

“We continue to make strides in the great game of golf, but sadly this disease is not out of bounds. One in eight men will be affected by prostate cancer in their lifetime so we need to drive home this serious message.

“Srixon’s continued support will be invaluable in raising awareness and funding ground-breaking research to help fight the disease. This will help us provide dedicated support and information to men and their loved ones. On behalf of us and them, we say thanks.”

Srixon – Matt Atkins wins at Web.com Tour with Z-STAR XV Yellow golf ball

May 2, 2017 – Srixon and Cleveland Golf congratulate staffer Matt Atkins for his first Web.com Tour victory at the El Bosque Mexico Championship by Innova over the weekend in Leon, Guanajuato, in Mexico. Atkins shot a bogey-free, 4-under-par 68 in the final round at El Bosque Country Club to post a winning total of 17-under par, three strokes clear of second place.

“I don’t even know how to put it in words. It’s just such an honor to win in general,” said Matt Atkins. “This puts me in a really good spot.”

A 26-year-old native of Aston, Penn., Atkins handled windy conditions all week, emerging as the only player in the field to post all four rounds in the 60s. His first-place check of $117,000 vaults him from 87th to sixth on the Web.com Tour money list – an excellent position to earn PGA Tour playing privileges next season.

That prize should be especially useful for Atkins and his family this summer. He is getting married over the week of the Web.com Tour Nashville Golf Open in late June.

“It feels so great to accomplish this goal so early, it’s definitely a nice little wedding gift for us,” Matt Atkins said.

Atkins won using a bag of Srixon equipment, including the Srixon Z-STAR XV Tour Yellow golf ball. Featuring a Dual Energetic Gradient Growth core with a larger, softer inner core, the Z-STAR XV generates consistently high ball speed on full shots and enhances greenside spin control with the Spin Skin coating. Atkins also trusted Srixon Z Series golf clubs en route to victory: the Z 765 Driver, the Z F65 Fairway Wood, the Z U65 Utility Iron, and Z 965 Irons. Z Series clubs feature the most innovative technology Srixon has ever created in golf clubs, helping skilled players improve distance and accuracy.

Atkins also used three Cleveland Golf RTX-3 Blade Tour Raw wedges (50° V-MG, 56° V-MG, 60° V-LG). RTX-3 wedges include three of Cleveland’s most innovative wedge technologies ever for the ultimate short-game control and consistency – Feel Balancing, V Sole grinds and the third-generation Rotex Face.

In Matt Atkins’s Bag:

  • Golf Ball: Srixon Z-STAR XV Tour Yellow
  • Driver: Srixon Z 765 (10.5°, Miyazaki Kusala White 61X)
  • Fairway Wood: Srixon Z F65 (15.0° 3-wood, Miyazaki Kusala Black 83X)

April 7, 2017 – Srixon congratulates Miguel Ángel Jiménez for his playoff victory in the PGA Tour Champions Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, held at Fallen Oak in Biloxi, Mississippi, over the weekend. Jiménez, a 53-year-old Spaniard who won the same event in 2016, recorded a birdie on the first sudden-death hole, the par-4 18th, to clinch victory after finishing regulation tied at 13-under par.

“I feel very nice. I feel I’m playing very well,” said Miguel Ángel Jiménez, now a four-time PGA Tour Champions winner. “When I make birdies I feel like I can win the tournament. Then just keep playing well, make a couple more birdies. I’m happy to defend the way I defended, yes.”

Jiménez, who owns 11 top-3 finishes in 25 career PGA Tour Champions starts, recently switched to the new, fifth-generation Z-STAR golf ball. He trusted its impressive high-launch, low-spin performance to lead the field with 86 percent of fairways hit for the week, missing only 6 fairways in 42 holes. The 21-time European Tour winner also tied for ninth in greens hit in regulation (43/54, 80 percent).

The new Srixon Z-STAR features an array of innovations designed to maximize performance on every shot, including the new Spin Skin coating, 338 Speed Dimple pattern and the Energetic Gradient Growth core.

The Spanish player also wears a Srixon Z-STAR Premium Cabretta Leather golf glove.
