DP World Tour – Rory McIlroy returns to defend DP World Tour Championship in pursuit of seventh Race to Dubai crown

September 1, 2025 – Grand Slam winner and five-time Major Champion Rory McIlroy will return to Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 13-16 to defend his DP World Tour Championship title at the season-ending Rolex Series event.

The Northern Irishman delivered a masterclass in control and shot-making to claim his third DP World Tour Championship victory in 2024, sealing a record-equalling sixth Race to Dubai title to sit alongside the late, great Seve Ballesteros and further cementing his status as one of the most decorated players in Tour history.

The 36-year-old has moved into joint second place for the most Race to Dubai victories and now sits two behind Colin Montgomerie, as he bids to add another European Nº1 crown to his already impressive career.

The renowned Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates has been a prosperous venue for the World Nº2, who has won the DP World Tour Championship in 2012, 2015 and 2024 and topped the season-long standings in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2022, 2023, and 2024. McIlroy also has four additional victories in Dubai, and the Masters Champion currently leads the Race to Dubai Rankings ahead of Tyrrell Hatton by 1,109.51 points.

He will spend two weeks in the United Arab Emirates following confirmation that he will also tee it up at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship – the first event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs – qualifying for both season-ending events thanks to that thrilling victory at Augusta National, a fourth-place finish at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, a tied runner up finish at the Genesis Scottish Open, and tied seventh at The 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is the first event of the DP World Tour’s end of season showpiece, leading straight into the DP World Tour Championship where the Race to Dubai champion will be crowned. The Top 70 available players at the conclusion of the Back 9 events will gather in Abu Dhabi for the fourth Rolex Series event of the year, with the top 50 teeing it up at the DP World Tour Championship as the season comes to a close in Dubai.

McIlroy became the first European to win the career grand slam earlier this year when he added a Green Jacket to his four previous Major victories at the 2011 U.S. Open, the US PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014 and The Open in 2014. He will look to clinch a fourth successive Race to Dubai title when he returns to the Middle East in November and a seventh Harry Vardon Trophy in total.

Callaway Golf – Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab putter rolls Danny Willet to victory

November 19, 2018 – Callaway staff professional Danny Willett proved just how much he loves his new Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab Putter by rolling in 23 birdies and an eagle on his way to victory at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

First put in play at last week’s Nedbank Challenge in South Africa, the prototype design features a special Odyssey shaft that is designed to improve the consistency of the putting stroke, thanks to a revolutionary weighting system.

Fellow Callaway Staffers Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia have also put the new prototype shaft in play on Tour this season.

Willett (31), the 2016 Masters Champion, ranked first in Putts per Green in Regulation (1,641) across the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, helping him to his sixth European Tour title and the €1,177,645 winner’s cheque.

Talking immediately after his two-shot -18 victory, Danny Willett said: “You never quite know when a win is around the corner. With everything that’s happened you’re never sure if another win is going to come. It has been a hell of a lot of work. It is just nice to be back!”

TaylorMade Golf – What’s in the bag of Jon Rahm as he seals the victory at the end of 2017 European Tour

November 20, 2017 – Jon Rahm ended the 2017 European Tour campaign in spectacular fashion by sealing victory in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Relying on a full 14-club bag of TaylorMade Golf equipment, the Spaniard – who was named the 2017 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year earlier in the week – fired a final round 67 to finish on 19-under-par for the week, a shot clear of his nearest rival.

“It’s been an incredible year, and to finish this way is a great achievement. I will enjoy the moment, but I want to keep working hard to improve my game and kick on again in 2018,” said Jon Rahm.

Rahm’s victory was his third as a professional, with previous wins coming earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open in January and the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in July. He only turned professional in June 2016.

With an average Driving Distance of 313.4 yards, Rahm – using the M2 driver – finished atop the field in that category for the week. TaylorMade’s 2017 drivers have now accounted for 31 victories across the worldwide tours this year.

In addition to his stellar work off the tee, Rahm’s success also came from his wizardry on the greens, as he finished in the top three for the week in Putts per Green and Putts per Round categories, trusting his Spider Tour Red in the process. Red is definitely his colour, like the putter and the adidas Golf polo shirt he usually wears on Sundays.

The victory is the third in four weeks for TaylorMade players, following Justin Rose’s wins in China and Turkey. Jon Rahm now moves up to No.4 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Callaway Golf – Stenson’s golf bag to win DP World Tour Championship in Dubai

November 24, 2014 – Callaway Golf staff player Henrik Stenson set his sights on an elusive Major Championship after successfully defending a title for the first time in his career following a thrilling finish to the DP World Tour Championship.

Stenson carded a closing 70 at Jumeirah Golf Estates to finish 16 under par, two shots ahead of World Number One Rory McIlroy (Nike Golf) and Ryder Cup team-mates Justin Rose (TaylorMade Golf) and Victor Dubuisson (Titleist).

The victory ensured he finished second in The Race to Dubai with 4.981.093 points behind McIlroy, whose points tally with the bonus pool added up to 7.149.503 points. 

It also took Stenson second in the World Ranking, but the 38 year old said: “It would be nice to have been ranked the world’s best at some point, but if I had the choice I would go for a Major Championship so I am going to try and be in good shape for them next year.” These has been his statistics: 310 yards in driving, 82% fairways, 83% Greens in Regulation, and 23 birdies.

Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello (Titleist) held a two shot lead with seven holes to play only to bogey the 12th and run up double bogeys on the 16th and 17th after finding water on both occasions.

Stenson had also found trouble on a rollercoaster back nine, hitting his tee shot out of bounds on the 11th to gift playing partner Cabrera-Bello that two-shot advantage, but a brilliant five iron tee shot on the par three 17th produced a tap-in birdie to reclaim the lead.



”It feels great,” added Henrik Stenson, who finished in style with a birdie on the 18th. “I’m exhausted to say the least. It was hot out there and tricky on the back nine. I did not play my best and had a shocking hole on 11.”

“I walked up to the tee with too much club in my hand and instead of changing I tried to cut a two-iron but hit a push, slice, shank straight into the buildings.”

“That knocked me back but I did not give up. I just had to dig in there and wait for something to happen. I had a couple of close calls this year to get my win and it was not to be. It’s been close but eventually you get something if you stick around and I surely did that.”
