Odyssey Golf – New Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putters with modern centre shafted design to be Stroke Balanced

November 15, 2024 – Today Odyssey Golf, an industry leader in putter innovation and the #1 Putter on Tour, announced their all-new family Ai-ONE Square 2 Square. These new offerings are designed to be the best zero torque putters in golf.

Zero torque is one of the hottest trends in putting. There are lots of options, but only Odyssey delivers their most successful Tour-proven shapes: Jailbird, #7, and Double Wide, with an Ai-ONE Insert for more consistent ball speeds across the face. Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Putters feature a modern centre shafted design that makes them Statically Balanced, so they want to stay square throughout a golfer’s stroke. These putters are ideally suited for golfers looking to minimise their face rotation when they putt.

Centring the shaft on the Centre of Gravity plane results in putters that rest with the toe up, which is opposite of a traditional putter with toe hang. This design promotes a square face throughout the stroke. Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Putters provide built in forward press as well. The 3.3° of forward shaft lean presets the hands in a forward press position, eliminating the opening of the face that often happens when golfers forward press.

Additionally, the Ai-ONE Insert is engineered with contours on the aluminium backer of the insert, which are co-molded to a White Hot Urethane striking surface to promote a consistent ball speed across the face with the classic White Hot feel that Tour players and amateurs love. Plus, the lightweight steel SL 90 shaft offers 20-30 grams (depending on the grip) of counterbalance weight in the butt end for more stability throughout the stroke.

Odyssey Ai-ONE Square 2 Square Putters will be available for pre-sale on November 15, and available at retailers starting November 29. They will be offered in Jailbird, #7, and Double Wide shapes.

Featuring revolutionary insert technologies for more consistent ball speeds, even on off-centre hits, these new offerings are designed to help you putt smarter.

Ai-ONE

In the new Ai-ONE, Odyssey has leveraged Callaway’s industry-leading Artificial Intelligence design and super-computing capabilities to create the most advanced insert in golf. A multi-material construction includes unique contours on the back of the face that minimise ball speed losses on off-centre hits, and greatly increase the sweet spot. Their revolutionary Ai-ONE urethane insert delivers more consistent ball speeds, even from off-centre hits, leaving putts up to 21% closer to the hole (*).

To achieve this unmatched level of performance, the back of the insert is crafted out of aluminium and a White Hot Urethane is added to the grooved striking surface for the iconic White Hot feel that millions of golfers love. These enhancements provide incredible feel, speed control, and consistency in a design that’s changing the face of putting.

In a unique addition for Ai-ONE, Odyssey’s designers have developed a Panlite window that makes the contours visible; it’s built from an automotive grade polymer that provides great clarity and scratch resistance. The window truly makes these putters unlike anything that’s come before and highlights this extraordinary technology.

The unique champagne finish complements the navy blue PVD of the head to give the putter a rich and striking look that sets it apart from other offerings. Callaway Golf – Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab putter rolls Danny Willet to victory

November 19, 2018 – Callaway staff professional Danny Willett proved just how much he loves his new Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab Putter by rolling in 23 birdies and an eagle on his way to victory at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

First put in play at last week’s Nedbank Challenge in South Africa, the prototype design features a special Odyssey shaft that is designed to improve the consistency of the putting stroke, thanks to a revolutionary weighting system.

Fellow Callaway Staffers Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia have also put the new prototype shaft in play on Tour this season.

Willett (31), the 2016 Masters Champion, ranked first in Putts per Green in Regulation (1,641) across the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, helping him to his sixth European Tour title and the €1,177,645 winner’s cheque.

Talking immediately after his two-shot -18 victory, Danny Willett said: “You never quite know when a win is around the corner. With everything that’s happened you’re never sure if another win is going to come. It has been a hell of a lot of work. It is just nice to be back!”

Danny wasn’t the only player to be using a Rogue Driver this week as, for the 18th out of 19 weeks, a Rogue or Rogue Sub Zero Driver has the been the #1 Driver Model in play on the European Tour.

Danny used a complete bag of Callaway and Odyssey products, including a Rogue Fairway Wood, X Forged ‘18 Irons and Utilities, and Mack Daddy Wedges.

Danny also relied on the performance of the Chrome Soft X Golf Ball, featuring revolutionary graphene. A host of other Callaway Staff Players have also tasted victory this season using Chrome Soft, including Australian Marc Leishman, Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Xander Schauffele.

Odyssey Golf – Alignment has never been so easy thanks to the revolutionary new Odyssey Red Ball putter

July 10, 2018 – Odyssey, the Nº1 Putter in Golf, has today announced the launch of the Red Ball Putter, a unique game-enhancing design that revolutionises the way all golfers align their putter on the green.

This new face-balanced, high MOI mallet design is all about getting golfers into the correct posture over the ball before making a putting stroke, and uses a distinct ‘Red Ball’ located under a Scope within the head to perfectly position the face at address.

By placing the head so the Red Ball can be seen exactly in the middle of the Scope from above, golfers can instantly see that they are giving themselves the best possible conditions to deliver a repeatable stroke to hole more putts.

They can also adjust their position, if the ball is located off-centre to the Scope, to dial in a consistent set-up, every time.

Odyssey Golf – A new high-MOI putter line named: Odyssey EXO

April 20, 2018 – Odyssey Golf has revealed a high-MOI mallet putter line with the launch of its EXO range.

Bringing together elegant detailing and Tour level performance with some of the finest finishes ever seen in an Odyssey putter, the EXO line marries the on-trend Red and traditional Black putter look in one technology-rich package.

All three multi-piece designs take inspiration from two classic head shapes in Rossie and Number Seven and a more recent shape, the Indy, from Odyssey’s Toulon Design family.

Each head is precision-milled, with a weight-saving aluminium red section contrasting with an elegant, milled black stainless steel body that drives significant increases in MOI, pushing putter performance to new levels for all golfers.

On impact with the golf ball, an all-new White Hot Microhinge Insert – a slightly firmer Tour-developed insert with an identical feel to the Tour’s ‘gold standard’ White Hot insert – imparts pure roll thanks to Microhinge Technology.

To give each Odyssey EXO Putter a premium look, each head is skim-milled, a light, yet precise milling process that refines edges and corners while giving the surface a beautiful sheen and feel.

Odyssey Golf – 12 new O-Works Black putter models and extension to the O-Works Red line for 2018

January 23, 2018 – Odyssey Golf has strengthened its O-Works line-up by launching an extensive range of new head shapes.

Building on the success of O-Works and O-Works Red, the latter of which debuted in July last year, Odyssey has gone a stage further and developed an all-new, 12-model O-Works Black line as well as adding six new models to its existing Red putter range.

Featuring revolutionary Microhinge Face Insert Technology, these new putters will provide great feel as well as imparting more topspin to get the ball into a better roll at impact.

The 2018 Black and Red ranges also feature new ‘toe-down’ O-Works Mallets, that naturally rotate like a blade during the putting stroke. These models will appeal to golfers who love a mallet look, but have historically struggled for consistency with face-balanced models (normally missing to the right).

‘Toe-down’ designs address this performance issue, dialling in better-than-blade forgiveness and alignment, whilst retaining a similar stroke path offered by a blade. In addition, face-balanced putter models remain, in both mallet and blade, for the golfer that favours a straight-back/straight forward pendulum putting stroke.

Callaway Golf – Sergio Garcia joins Callaway Golf Tour Staff after testing different brands

January 2, 2018 – Callaway Golf has announced today that Sergio Garcia, the reigning Masters Champion, has joined its Tour Professional Staff. He will play Callaway woods, irons and wedges, an Odyssey putter and a Callaway Chrome Soft ball.

“I’m really excited to switch to Callaway,” said Sergio Garcia. “After testing different brands I realised Callaway’s technology and innovation will help me maximise my game and perform to the best of my ability.”

Callaway’s Tour Department worked extensively with Sergio Garcia to dial in the specs on each of his clubs, from driver to putter, to promote maximum distance, accuracy and control.

“The launch monitor doesn’t lie,” said Tim Reed, SVP, Global Sports Marketing, Callaway Golf. “Jailbreak driver technology has upped his distance off the tee. And the combination of Apex irons, Mack Daddy 4 wedges and our Chrome Soft ball has given him tremendous control on approach shots, and around the green.”

On the green, Sergio is currently using a new Odyssey putter that he’s won with previously. “It’s an exciting new toe hang mallet that we will launch next month,” said Sean Toulon, SVP, Callaway Golf & GM, Odyssey Brand. “He really likes the choices we have for him, especially the roll enhancing face technologies that our putters feature.”

Sergio Garcia, 37, has won 30 tournaments worldwide since turning professional in 1999, including 10 on the PGA Tour, and he’s consistently been one of the top ranked players in the world throughout his career. He has also been a mainstay in Ryder Cup competition for the past two decades, competing on eight European teams while compiling an impressive 19-11-7 record. Last October, Garcia won the Valderrama Masters in his native Spain with a Mack Daddy 4 Wedge and an Odyssey putter in the bag.

“Sergio has been one of the world’s most talented and charismatic players for almost 20 years,” said Callaway President & CEO Chip Brewer. “It will be fun to see what he can do using Callaway equipment.”

In addition to playing Callaway equipment Garcia will display a Callaway Golf logo on both sides of his hat. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

July 18, 2017 – Odyssey Golf is introducing an extension of red putters to its pioneering O-Works line this summer. Following feedback from Callaway Staff Professionals, who have already put prototype models into play on Tour, the striking new O-Works Red Putters will make their Major debut at The Open this week.

Featuring revolutionary Microhinge Face Insert Technology, O-Works Putters offer unmatched roll for all levels of player.

The face insert pairs a stainless steel Microhinge plate co-moulded into a Thermoplastic Elastomer Feel Layer, enabling the tiny hinges on the hitting surface to lift the ball into a better roll at impact.

The technology makes the putter face more flexible, meaning all golfers will see increased top-spin and roll to their putts, even with a less-than-perfect putting stroke.
