Callaway Golf – Enhanced new partnership with The Belfry, opening a spectacular Fitting Suite

September 28, 2022 – Callaway has announced the addition of The Belfry Hotel & Resort in North Warwickshire, England, to its select roster of High Performance Partners.

This partnership brings together its portfolio of market leading brands – Callaway, Odyssey, Toptracer, TravisMathew and OGIO – and allows the Callaway Group of companies to work more closely with The Belfry Hotel & Resort to significantly enhance retail and visitor experiences.

Among a host of initiatives, The Belfry Hotel & Resort – a four-time host of The Ryder Cup – now features a state-of-the-art Callaway and Odyssey Fitting Suite, Toptracer technology in the Academy’s Driving range and from 2023, Callaway practice balls.

Callaway and Odyssey rental clubs will also be available for visiting golfers, while TravisMathew – the lifestyle brand that continues to build on its success in the US – is an exciting new addition in The Belfry Hotel & Resort Golf Shop.

Commenting on the new partnership, Neil Howie, President and Managing Director, Callaway EMEA, said: “We have long-enjoyed a strong working relationship with the team at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, and we are genuinely excited to take our business collaboration to the next level, creating truly exceptional customer experiences.”

Chris Reeve, Director of Golf at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, followed: “We have always been fully committed to creating the very best golf experiences for our customers and this deeper relationship with the Callaway family of brands gives us the opportunity to further elevate our award-winning business.”

The announcement comes soon after The Belfry Hotel & Resort announced Callaway Staff Professional, Danny Willett, as a new golf ambassador. Danny has hosted the Betfred British Masters on the award-winning Brabazon Course for the past two years.

Danny Willet, an eight-time winner on the DP World and PGA Tours, added: “The Callaway family has been at the heart of my playing success for a number of years and this new collaboration is perfect timing for me, seeing two of my key sponsors come together is fantastic.”

Callaway Golf – Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab putter rolls Danny Willet to victory

November 19, 2018 – Callaway staff professional Danny Willett proved just how much he loves his new Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab Putter by rolling in 23 birdies and an eagle on his way to victory at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

First put in play at last week’s Nedbank Challenge in South Africa, the prototype design features a special Odyssey shaft that is designed to improve the consistency of the putting stroke, thanks to a revolutionary weighting system.

Fellow Callaway Staffers Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia have also put the new prototype shaft in play on Tour this season.

Willett (31), the 2016 Masters Champion, ranked first in Putts per Green in Regulation (1,641) across the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, helping him to his sixth European Tour title and the €1,177,645 winner’s cheque.

Talking immediately after his two-shot -18 victory, Danny Willett said: “You never quite know when a win is around the corner. With everything that’s happened you’re never sure if another win is going to come. It has been a hell of a lot of work. It is just nice to be back!”

Danny wasn’t the only player to be using a Rogue Driver this week as, for the 18th out of 19 weeks, a Rogue or Rogue Sub Zero Driver has the been the #1 Driver Model in play on the European Tour.

Danny used a complete bag of Callaway and Odyssey products, including a Rogue Fairway Wood, X Forged ‘18 Irons and Utilities, and Mack Daddy Wedges.

Danny also relied on the performance of the Chrome Soft X Golf Ball, featuring revolutionary graphene. A host of other Callaway Staff Players have also tasted victory this season using Chrome Soft, including Australian Marc Leishman, Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Xander Schauffele.

Neil Howie, Managing Director of Callaway Golf EMEA, said: “It is great to see Danny winning again – he has a habit of coming good at the biggest events! – and we couldn’t be more delighted for him and his family.

“To see him in such devatasting form, using a new Odyssey Prototype Stroke Lab Putter is a great way to end another phenomenal season for #TeamCallaway.”

Callaway Golf – Danny Willett energizes #teamCallaway in 2015 European Tour

Danny-Willet-Nedbank-2014-3

December 9, 2014 – Callaway Golf and Odyssey started the 2015 European Tour season how it ended 2014, in the winner’s circle, thanks to Staff Professional Danny Willett powering to a four-shot victory in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa.

Willett, 27, using a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey products, including the X2 Hot Driver and Fairways, Speed Regime Golf Ball and Odyssey Versa BWB Rossie Putter, earned himself €864,976 for his week’s work at the Gary Player Country Club. Danny closed out the tournament with an emphatic bogey-free final round six-under-par 66, which included six birdies, to finish 18 under par.

He ranked 3rd in the field in greens in regulation, 4th in putts per GIR, and averaged just 26.5 putts per round for the week. Odyssey was also the #1 putter in play at the tournament, with 50% of the field using an Odyssey putter.  Danny’s victory is the 73rd win for Odyssey across the major worldwide Tours (PGA, European, Champions, Web.com, LPGA and JGTO) in 2014. That’s by far the most worldwide Tour wins for any putter this year.

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Congratulations to Danny for finishing the first tournament of the new European Tour season in such dominant style and also to Emiliano Grillo, winning this weekend at the Open de Argentina. Coupled with second and third place finishes for Henrik Stenson and Patrick Reed respectively at the Hero World Challenge, this further underlines the strong momentum we continue to enjoy as a brand across all global Tours.”

Commenting on his win Danny Willett, from Sheffield, said: “I put a new Callaway X2 Hot Driver in the bag a few weeks ago and it has been tremendous. My caddie and I spoke at the start of the week and came up with a good game plan, to be aggressive off the tee on this golf course.

“I’ve been driving the ball really well and we wanted to give ourselves more wedges and nine irons into holes, whereas some guys were just laying back.”

Danny turned pro in 2009 after building a strong reputation in the amateur ranks, recording a stunning win in the English Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s shortly after being crowned Yorkshire Amateur Champion in 2007.

He then went on to play in The Walker Cup and became the No.1 amateur in the world. His breakthrough European Tour victory came on 2012, when he won the BMW International Open in Germany.

As Callaway X Apparel Ambassador, Danny Willett wore the X Jersey Contrast Collar Polo and the X Technical Trouser in Bright White with Callaway’s new Cut-To-Fit Webbed Belt on Sunday.
