FootJoy – All new golf apparel collections for Spring-Summer 2020 unveiled

May 18, 2020 – FootJoy, the #1 shoe, glove & apparel in golf, has launched a brand-new Spring-Summer apparel line to kickstart the golfer’s season in 2020, with the image of its Ambassador Rafael Cabrera-Bello.

Incorporating brand new floral and flock of bird prints, there are four new colour collections in the men’s range: Spirit, Royal, Mosaic and Wave, and two new colour collections in the women’s GolfLeisure range: Jade and Rose.

The collections feature the latest in performance fabrics and fits to ensure the golf remains comfortable in a range of weather conditions and unrestricted throughout the swing. Designs range from understated to eye-catching and everything between, ensuring that there is something to suit every taste.

SPIRIT COLLECTION

This collection is highlighted by two eye-catching trends, Iced Berry and Blue Fog, designed for the golfer who wants to make a statement on the golf course. Infused with pale pink colour trends morphing to more intense shades, the collections also include soft grey tinted with blue, notably in the Birdseye Argyle Print Polo.

ROYAL COLLECTION

The sophisticated yet effortless Royal Collection features moody black and Royal colours tinted with the neutralising tones of grey. Prints continue to gain importance this season, highlighted by the stylish Lisle Flower Print Polo.

MOSAIC COLLECTION

Within the Mosaic Collection spring-like shades of yellow and coral have been softened to create complementary tones, which can be paired with the harmonising patterns featured throughout the range. Meanwhile, Deep Slate grey infused with violet complete the colour story.

WAVE COLLECTION

Mint forms a key colour for Spring 2020, with the refreshing tones utilised to create a balanced range. Inspired by the colours of the sea, the Wave Collection is complemented by soft purple tones, with deep blue shades replacing navy for a fresher appearance and engineered stripes becoming simpler and cleaner.

GOLFLEISURE

For the first time, the ladies GolfLeisure range introduces two colour collections: Jade and Rose. Both collections aim to brighten a golfer’s wardrobe, featuring vibrant shades that the ranges are aptly named along with Heather Grey, Navy and White. GolfLeisure strives to offer women the current season’s blend of on-course performance needs with off-course comfort and styling.

Because only everything matters, FootJoy decided to complete its brand-new collections with fashion socks, visors and caps that will perfectly fit with the new colours tonalities.

The essentials range sits alongside the six new collections, specifically designed to complement the rest of the Spring-Summer 2020 range.

“We sought inspiration for the collections from numerous avenues, whether it was working with our forecasting agencies, reading design magazines or gathering ideas while we’re travelling. Ultimately, you select colours which fit your brand identity and work well with your materials, how you combine colours within a collection is of upmost importance,” commented Nancy Harding, principal apparel designer of FootJoy.

“Prints are, once again, used heavily throughout the range. They have become the top selling style in FJ’s fashion collections for several seasons now. It may seem surprising, but prints can offer something different for the person who may already have a closet full of golf shirts.”

Callaway Golf – Stenson’s golf bag to win DP World Tour Championship in Dubai

November 24, 2014 – Callaway Golf staff player Henrik Stenson set his sights on an elusive Major Championship after successfully defending a title for the first time in his career following a thrilling finish to the DP World Tour Championship.

Stenson carded a closing 70 at Jumeirah Golf Estates to finish 16 under par, two shots ahead of World Number One Rory McIlroy (Nike Golf) and Ryder Cup team-mates Justin Rose (TaylorMade Golf) and Victor Dubuisson (Titleist).

The victory ensured he finished second in The Race to Dubai with 4.981.093 points behind McIlroy, whose points tally with the bonus pool added up to 7.149.503 points.

It also took Stenson second in the World Ranking, but the 38 year old said: “It would be nice to have been ranked the world’s best at some point, but if I had the choice I would go for a Major Championship so I am going to try and be in good shape for them next year.” These has been his statistics: 310 yards in driving, 82% fairways, 83% Greens in Regulation, and 23 birdies.

Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello (Titleist) held a two shot lead with seven holes to play only to bogey the 12th and run up double bogeys on the 16th and 17th after finding water on both occasions.

Stenson had also found trouble on a rollercoaster back nine, hitting his tee shot out of bounds on the 11th to gift playing partner Cabrera-Bello that two-shot advantage, but a brilliant five iron tee shot on the par three 17th produced a tap-in birdie to reclaim the lead.

”It feels great,” added Henrik Stenson, who finished in style with a birdie on the 18th. “I’m exhausted to say the least. It was hot out there and tricky on the back nine. I did not play my best and had a shocking hole on 11.”

“I walked up to the tee with too much club in my hand and instead of changing I tried to cut a two-iron but hit a push, slice, shank straight into the buildings.”

“That knocked me back but I did not give up. I just had to dig in there and wait for something to happen. I had a couple of close calls this year to get my win and it was not to be. It’s been close but eventually you get something if you stick around and I surely did that.”
