Srixon – Inbee Park wins third consecutive Women’s PGA Championship

June 16, 2015 – XXIO, Srixon and Cleveland Golf have congratulated staffer Inbee Park for her victory at the 2015 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship held at the Westchester Country Club, in Rye, New York.

The 26-year-old South Korean won the event for the third straight time Sunday regaining the No. 1 ranking in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, while also becoming the most decorated South Korean major winner with a total of six major championship victories to date.

Park finished the final 56 holes without a bogey, closing out the tournament with a 5-under-par 68 in her final round to finish the season’s second major five strokes ahead of her nearest competitor.

“I played great the last three days,” said Inbee Park. “I couldn’t believe it myself. I made no bogeys for three straight days. My ball-striking has improved probably 300% and the ball-striking has been really the key factor for my career.”

Srixon / Cleveland Golf – Peter Hanson, new European Tour staff player

June 5, 2015 – Srixon and Cleveland Golf have announced that Peter Hanson has agreed to terms on a multi-year contract to become a member of the Srixon/Cleveland Golf European Tour staff. No additional details regarding the contract were made available.

Hanson is already playing the Nordea Masters with Srixon’s new 4th generation Z STAR XV golf ball with SpinSkin Technology, a Srixon Z U45 utility iron (#2), Srixon Z 945 irons (3-PW) and Cleveland Golf 588 RTX 2.0 wedges (52°, 56°, 60°). Hanson also wears a Srixon hat, a Srixon glove, and carries a Srixon bag.

The 37-year-old Swede turned professional in 1998 and has played on the Challenge Tour and the European Tour. On the Challenge Tour, Hanson’s professional wins include the 1998 Gunther Hamburg Classics, while on the European Tour his professional wins include the 2005 Open de España, the 2008 SAS Masters, the 2010 Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca, the 2010 Czech Open, the 2012 KLM Open and the 2012 BMW Masters. Hanson was a member of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup teams in 2010 and 2012, and was also a member of the Continental Europe team at the 2005 and 2007 Seve Trophy.

Cleveland Golf – The arsenal of Soren Kjeldsen to win Dubai Duty Free Irish Open

June 1, 2015 – Srixon / Cleveland Golf staff player Soren Kjeldsen ended his six year wait for a European Tour title after he won a three way playoff at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation, held on Royal County Down GC (Newcastle, Northern Ireland).

The Dane birdied the first playoff hole to deny the Austrian Bernd Wiesberger (Titleist) and the English Eddie Pepperell (TaylorMade Golf), the latter earning the considerable consolation of a place at St Andrews for the Open Championship in July. The Spanish player Rafa Cabrera-Bello (Titleist) was forth by one stroke, that he missed at the 18th hole when he was trying to keep -2 to reach the playoff.

Kjeldsen had begun the day two strokes ahead of the field but tentatively secured his place in the playoff after shooting a final round 76. The 40 year old, who had not won since the 2009 Open de Andalucía de Golf, held his nerve when it counted up the 18th for a second time as he saw his birdie putt rattle around the cup before falling in.

“Three weeks ago I was 112th in the Order of Merit and my game was not in good shape,” Soren Kjeldsen said. “With turning 40 (a fortnight ago) you wonder was that it? Now I am standing here and it’s pretty remarkable really.”

Srixon – Inbee Park clinches second LPGA Tour victory of 2015 with Z STAR golf ball

May 7, 2015 – XXIO, Srixon and Cleveland Golf are the winner golf brands thanks to staffer Inbee Park in her victory at the 2015 Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout held at the Las Colinas Country Club, in Irving, Texas.

The 26-year-old South Korean captured her second LPGA title of 2015 and her 14th career LPGA title by closing with a bogey-free 6-under 65 to finish with a three-stroke margin of victory on Sunday. Her victory at this year’s event comes only two years after her win at the LPGA’s inaugural North Texas Shootout.

“I don’t know how I did it, but I did it twice,” said Inbee Park. “I love this golf course and it really seems to suit my eye. I’ve been playing really good the last three years here, and I love to come here and play.”

Srixon – Ashun Wu, the first Chinese player to win at European Tour, plays Z STAR golf ball

April 28, 2015 – Ashun Wu became the first Chinese player to win a European Tour event on home soil, at the Volvo China Open, securing him exemption on the European Tour until the end of the 2017 season.

The 29 year old Srixon staff player shot a closing 71 at Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club to finish on nine under par for the week – one shot ahead of David Howell, who missed an eight foot par putt on the last which would have forced a play-off.

Ashun Wu, who plays the new XXIO Forged driver, Srixon Z745 irons, Cleveland CG17 wedges and Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball, had previously won twice on the Japan Golf Tour, and now moves 121 places up the Official World Golf Rankings into 126th.

After the win, Ashun Wu said: “It’s a wonderful day today. Everyone knows it’s very tough today, I played very good today and I’ve enjoyed this week. It’s been a wonderful week with wonderful weather and I’d like to thank everybody. It’s very special winning the China Open and it’s very exciting. I have many friends here, and they helped me a lot and pushed me to play well.”

Srixon earned its 17th and 18th international victories of the 2015 season this weekend, with Ashun Wu at the Volvo China Open on the European Tour and Jin Young Ko in the Nexen Saint Nine Masters on the Korean LPGA Tour.

Srixon – J.B. Holmes wins 2015 Shell Houston Open with new Z-STAR golf ball

April 6, 2015 – Srixon and Cleveland Golf have congratulated staffer J.B. Holmes for his victory at the 2015 Shell Houston Open held at the Golf Club of Houston, in Humble (Texas, U.S.). The 32-year-old Kentucky native earned his 4^th career PGA Tour title in a playoff Sunday after shooting a final round eight-under 64, the low round of the day, which included birdies on the first five holes and nine of the first 12 holes.

Holmes started six shots back of the leader heading into the final round, but his nine birdies and one bogey performance on Sunday helped to propel him up the leader board and into a three-way playoff with an overall score of 16-under 272. Holmes clinched the victory with a tap-in par on the second playoff hole to move him into third place on the 2015 PGA Tour Money List.

“I’ve been working on taking it one shot a time, which I did a pretty good job of that today,” J.B. Holmes said. “A lot of it has to do with confidence in your game, as well as confidence in your equipment. The new Srixon Z-STAR ball is unquestionably the best ball I’ve ever played.”

Srixon – Trevor Fisher Jnr wins the Africa Open with the Z STAR XV golf ball

March 10, 2015 – Trevor Fisher Jnr claimed the greatest win of his career with a resounding five shot victory on home soil at the Africa Open. The South African blew away the rest of the field playing the new Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball, Srixon Z945 irons and Z U45 utility iron, and also using the Cleveland Golf Classic driver and three Cleveland Golf 588 Forged wedges.

An eight time winner on the Sunshine Tour, the 35 year old’s maiden European Tour title arrived courtesy of a final round eight under par 64 at East London Golf Club.

Fisher Jnr’s success maintained South Africa’s stunning record of providing every winner of this event since its inception in 2010, when he finished in a tie for fourth.

He faced strong competition from Matt Ford, also looking for a first triumph, until he pulled clear by taking full advantage of a bogey from the Englishman on the ninth with birdies either side of the turn. And there was no looking back for Fisher Jnr on the back nine, where he did not drop a shot all week, as he finished on 24 under. The victory will also grant him full playing privileges on the European Tour for 2015 and 2016.

Trevor Fisher Jnr said: “It is always nerve-racking leading, not to think about the result, but it’s quite hard and I think I did a good job today. I was nervous the last few holes, I think that is natural.”

“It was a great day, I played well and everything went well. The putter was amazing, I sank some amazing putts today. It is written in the stars.”

“I’ve tried so hard to get that European Tour card, for so many years – obviously it’s a massive step for my career because that’s where all South African golfers want to be.”

Srixon – Park earns first LPGA Tour victory of 2015 on her ‘Journey to Better’

March 10, 2015 – The golf brands XXIO, Srixon and Cleveland Golf have congratulate staffer Inbee Park for her victory at the 2015 HSBC Women’s Champions held at the Sentosa Golf Club, in Singapore.

The 26-year-old South Korean earned her 13th career LPGA Tour title by shooting a 2-under 70 in Sunday’s final round to clinch a two-stroke victory over her nearest competitor. Inbee Park, who began her final round with the same two-stroke lead, had two birdies on Sunday to finish the tournament at 15-under 273. Park currently has a streak of five consecutive bogey-free rounds dating back to the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand.

”This week was just incredible,” said Inbee Park. ”I don’t think I can even believe myself that I didn’t make any bogeys for 72 holes. I mean, if I thought about bogeys, when am I going to make bogey; if I was afraid of the bogeys, I’d probably make bogeys. But I thought, whatever happens, it’s just meant to be.”

Srixon – New Z-STAR golf ball earns second European Tour win with Anirban Lahiri

February 24, 2015 – The Srixon – Cleveland Golf staff player Anirban Lahiri has beaten his compatriot S.S.P. Chowrasia in a play-off to claim an emotional home triumph at the 2015 Hero Indian Open and a second European Tour title just two weeks with the new Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball.

Lahiri, who won recently the 2015 Malaysian Open, began the final round seven shots off the lead but a closing 69 was enough to force extra holes as overnight leader Chowrasia stumbled to a 76.

The home pair returned to the par five 18th for the play-off and with Chowrasia unable to make par after hooking his tee shot into the trees, Lahiri holed from ten feet for birdie.

“It’s incredible – starting today I didn’t really think I had a chance,” said Anirban Lahiri. “It was one of the toughest days ever that I’ve played golf at Delhi Golf Club and I’m really happy to have accomplished this: it’s a childhood dream”.

Victory moves Lahiri to second on The Race to Dubai and cements his place in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking, with a Masters Tournament invite in April now looking certain. This second win comes in his 41st event at th European Tour.

Srixon – Anirban Lahiri wins Maybank Malaysian Open with Z STAR XV golf ball

February 10, 2015 – An infallible week of straight driving and clinical approach play, supplemented by a Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball, secured Anirban Lahiri his debut European Tour win at last week’s Maybank Malaysian Open.

The statistics for the Kuala Lumpur-based tournament confirmed the Indian’s overall efficiency, with virtually no weakness highlighted.

The 27 year old Bangalore native, who came through Qualifying School just three months ago, was arrow straight off the tee and hit an impressive 71.2 per cent of the fairways – the 16^th best in the field for that category. This statistic is made even more notable when you also consider Lahiri’s length from the tee box, which averaged a not inconsiderable 291.9 yards.

As Lahiri swapped driver for irons, he became even more proficient and missed a remarkably small number of Greens in Regulation at Kuala Lumpur Golf Club. Once on the dance floor, Lahiri putted like a man possessed and averaged a fine 1.656 putts per GiR – tenth best in that category – and 28.5 putts per round.
