Camiral Golf – New Club Car fleet for 2031 Ryder Cup venue

October 1, 2025 – Camiral, host venue of the 2031 Ryder Cup, has elevated its golf experience with a new fleet from Club Car, the global industry-leading manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles.

In a new video, Director of Golf Flavio Papa explains the impact the new lithium-powered cars have had – both for golfers and his team’s operational efficiency.

Papa said: “As Spain’s No.1 Golf Resort and recently appointed host of the 2031 Ryder Cup, Camiral carries high expectations every time a golfer books a round. We always strive to give our members and guests the best possible experience, which is why we chose Club Car for our new fleet.

“The Visage technology is fantastic because not only are we able to monitor and control the cars, the screens give golfers detailed hole-by-hole information about the course, including yardages. It has really helped us speed up the pace of play.”

With a major sustainability project currently under way at the 36-hole European Tour Destinations venue just outside Girona, it was important the whole fleet was electric.

“The lithium batteries are much longer lasting than traditional batteries – the buggies can go out twice a day on one charge, and even a third time with just a 10-minute charging top-up, without any ill effects on the battery,” added Papa.

Marco Natale, Club Car Vice President EMEA, said: “We’re proud to see our vehicles having such a positive impact at Camiral, a Quinta do Lago Resort, which offers world-class golf experiences to its customers.

“Club Car continues to set the standard in golf mobility, which is why so many leading resorts and clubs around the world remain our valued partners.”

Club Car supplies many of the world’s leading golf destinations with its wide range of vehicles, and is the official supplier of the DP World Tour, the Professional Golfers’ Association of Great Britain and Ireland, the PGA of America and St Andrews Links Trust.

Club Car – Gears up for The 2018 Ryder Cup following ‘Year to Go’ celebration

November 10, 2017 – Having played its part in the ‘Year to Go’ celebrations at Le Golf National in France, preparations are now underway for Club Car to provide a 500-strong fleet of vehicles to The 2018 Ryder Cup.

The 2018 edition of the biennial match will mark the 21st year of Club Car, a world-leading manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, being an Official Supplier of The Ryder Cup.

During the successful two-day ‘Year to Go’ event, the official supplier of the European Tour presented European and United States (U.S.) team captains, Thomas Bjørn and Jim Furyk, with their specially equipped team cars, which feature embroidered seats sporting the European and U.S. flags.

“Seeing both captains in their team cars at Le Golf National for the first time was a very proud moment for everyone at Club Car,” said Marco Natale, Vice President of Club Car in EMEA.

“There have been many memorable images over the years that showcase the important role the cars have played in The Ryder Cup matches, not least Seve Ballesteros navigating the course at Valderrama, enroute to victory the last time the event was held in continental Europe and we look forward to again playing our part in what is sure to be a great sporting contest next year.”

As in previous years, Club Car’s involvement in The 2018 Ryder Cup extends beyond the requirements of the two teams, with vehicles supplied for use by rules officials, television production teams and staging staff.

“The Ryder Cup is an event that never stands still,” said Richard Hills, European Ryder Cup Director. “From its minimal environmental impact to the technical innovations being introduced across its fleet, Club Car is a valued, long-term partner that has successfully evolved alongside the event.”

With less than a year to go until the 42nd Ryder Cup, preparations are now underway to ship a 350-strong fleet of golf cars, turf utility and transporter vehicles, from Club Car’s U.S. headquarters in Augusta, Georgia, while the remainder of the fleet will be sourced direct from its dealer network in Europe.

“The Ryder Cup is a huge logistical operation involving hundreds of vehicles,” Marco Natale added.

“However, having been an official supplier of The Ryder Cup since 1997, we have a detailed understanding of how to service the event and are perfectly placed to drive the on-course logistics of one of the world’s largest sporting events.”

Club Car already supplies Le Golf National with a fleet of 50 Precedent i3 golf cars, all featuring the fully connected mobile golf information system, Visage.

Club Car – New Regional Sales Manager throughout the Mediterranean

April 16, 2017 – Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of small-wheel electric vehicles and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, has announced the appointment of two new members of its EMEA sales team, following a successful start to 2017.

Nicolas Le Glas, who boasts nine years at the helm of Club Car’s distributor in France, ORA Véhicules Electriques, has been appointed Regional Sales Manager throughout the Mediterranean.

He has been given the remit to manage golf sales in France, while also covering Club Car’s utility operations within the Mediterranean region, though Spain and Portugal will continue to be managed by Ricardo Muelas.

“In France, Club Car has a reputation as a premium product, helped of course by its association with some of the game’s leading organisations, such as The Ryder Cup and The European Tour,” said Nicolas Le Glas.

“I’ve been working with Club Car since 2014 and during this period the company’s performance has, if anything, surpassed its reputation. I have been incredibly impressed with the cars’ quality and reliability.”

“Club Car’s growth in golf over the past few years has been as a result of its customer-focused approach and its technologically-advanced product and I look forward to helping further accelerate this growth over the next few years.”

Nicolas Le Glas’ appointment comes ahead of a key period for Club Car in France, which will see the Official Supplier of The European Tour provide a fleet of more than 500 vehicles to Le Golf National ahead of The 2018 Ryder Cup.

Away from golf, Le Glas will also focus on creating turf, hotel & resort and industrial opportunities for Club Car’s versatile fleet of utility vehicles across a range of countries within the EMEA region.

“It’ll be my role to maintain growth in successful markets like Italy, where Club Car currently enjoys 70% market share for utility vehicles, while seeking to increase Club Car’s presence in big potential territories like France, Turkey and Morocco,” added Nicolas Le Glas.

The appointment of Le Glas sees Club Car’s former Regional Sales Manager, Jean-Michel Cortinovis, promoted to EMEA Utility Vehicles Sales Leader.

Vice President of Club Car in EMEA, Marco Natale, said: These appointments represent significant steps in Club Car’s long-term goal to provide unrivalled products, service and support to our customers.”

“Nicolas’ contacts, experience and proven track record of increasing sales make him the ideal man to continue our recent and impressive sales performance, while Jean-Michel’s appointment ensures we maintain our strong leadership team throughout the EMEA region.”

Club Car is the official supplier of golf cars to The European Tour, The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA), St Andrews Links Trust and The PGA of America.

Club Car – Largest-ever fleet supplied for The 2014 Ryder Cup

Club-Car-Ryder-Cup-01

September 27, 2014 – Club Car, Official Supplier to the Ryder Cup since 1995, has delivered more than 540 vehicles to Gleneagles for the biennial match, which takes place on September 26-28, 2014.

This is the largest-ever fleet Club Car has supplied to assist operations ahead of and during a Ryder Cup event, proving, once again, it is a ‘driving force’ behind the world’s third biggest sporting event. In excess of 300 cars have been shipped from Club Car’s US headquarters in Augusta, with a further 240 sourced from the UK.

As Official Supplier to the 2014 Ryder Cup, Club Car is providing each team with seven vehicles, including the familiar Captain’s cars, which enable the squads’ skippers, vice-captains and support staff to navigate the course quickly and efficiently, and keep up with each day’s play.

Club-Car-Ryder-Cup-03

As in previous editions, Club Car’s involvement in this year’s Ryder Cup extends beyond the requirements of the two Ryder Cup teams.

“There are approximately 7,000 staff and volunteers involved in the staging of a Ryder Cup, including marshals, hospitality, merchandising, rules officials and media – all of whom need to get around the site easily and quickly,” explained Club Car distributor, Chris Hopkins.

Hopkins, from Buggy Hire UK, part of Tractor Hire Limited, was entrusted to supply the Club Car fleet at the last Ryder Cup held in Europe, at Celtic Manor, Wales, in 2010, and is providing support at this year’s event.

He continued: “The television crews alone require more than half the vehicles supplied by Club Car to help broadcast the biennial match to millions of viewers around the globe who are watching the action unfold at Gleneagles.”

“Between 150 and 200 vehicles are assigned to broadcasters such as Sky TV and NBC and stored overnight in a dedicated media compound.”

“The security detail also have its own vehicles, as will the plumbers, electricians, scaffolders and behind-the-scenes staff who make this event ‘tick’. Each of The Ryder Cup’s Partners also have cars to ensure the smooth running of the part they play. For example, a technician from Rolex have a vehicle allocated to them to service the clocks on each tee, to ensure they remain running to time.”

“Perhaps the most inconspicuous requirement for a Club Car vehicle is for the volunteers who rope off the fairways. Every morning, they go out ahead of the crowd’s arrival and again, after the matches are finished to ensure all the ropes are up and provide an effective barrier for spectators.”

Commenting on Club Car’s longstanding partnership with The European Tour, the company’s Vice President in EMEIA, Marco Natale, said: “We have been fortunate to forge such a close relationship with the Tour and be integrally involved in The Ryder Cup operations.”

“Over the years, we have come to understand at a granular level what the job entails and what the demands of the various stakeholders are. Each time, we not only aim to deliver on these but also, and more importantly, aspire to go beyond expectations to fulfilling the part Club Car plays in helping promote a first-class Ryder Cup event.”
