TaylorMade Golf – New state-of-the-art Custom Build Lab and Brand Centre with guest of honour Paul McGinley

March 12, 2019 – TeamTaylorMade Ambassador Paul McGinley and Managing Director EMEAP David Silvers officially opened last Friday the new facilities at the company’s European Headquarters in Basingstoke, UK.

Effectively, TaylorMade Golf have been busy transforming its back office operations at the company’s Basingstoke head office introducing a whole host of new initiatives to better service the brand’s retail partners.  As part of this transformation TaylorMade has invested heavily to redesign its custom club production process and upgrade the customer facing Brand Centre.

The Custom Build Lab has been completely overhauled and re-engineered with state-of-the-art technology and efficient processes to ensure best in class build quality and increased capacity for the continued rapid growth in the company’s custom business.

The new Brand Centre now offers the customer a fully immersive TaylorMade experience which includes a contemporary marketing suite with a large wall-sized cinema screen and a fully stocked ‘mock’ TaylorMade Pro Shop to showcase to retail partners how the entire product line can be presented at the point of sale.

PGA Catalunya – Paul McGinley to host Golf Classic for Special Olympics

March 20, 2015 – Winning captain of The 2014 Ryder Cup, Paul McGinley, will host a Golf Classic at Spain’s PGA Catalunya Resort’s Stadium Course on May 18th, 2015. The event will help raise funds for Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organisation for people with intellectual disabilities.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Paul McGinley said: “I am happy to partner with Special Olympics, an organisation that, through sport, helps transforms lives. I am extremely supportive of its efforts in raising awareness of the talent and abilities of people with intellectual disabilities, as well as empowering athletes to reach their full potential.”

“By staging the Golf Classic at PGA Catalunya Resort, a world class golf course and on every golfer’s “must play” list, I hope many will join me in Spain to support a great cause. I anticipate this being a truly exciting event,” added Paul McGinley.

Special guests include European Tour Player, Peter Lawrie, and Special Olympics athlete, Eduardo Vegas Ochoa from Spain with more names to be announced soon.

On the eve of the Special Olympics Golf Classic (May 17th) guests will have the opportunity to play a practice round on the critically acclaimed Stadium Course or visit The 2015 Spanish Open taking place in nearby Real Club de Golf El Prat. The evening will conclude with a dinner reception and auction at PGA Catalunya Resort’s onsite hotel. A shot gun start for the Classic will tee off on May 18th followed by lunch and an awards presentation.

Mary Davis, Regional President of Special Olympics in Europe Eurasia, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of Paul McGinley for our inaugural Golf Classic in Spain, as he shares many of the same qualities as our athletes in his warmth, his passion for teamwork, enthusiasm for sport, optimism and determination.”

All the funds raised will help send 78 Special Olympics athletes to represent Team Spain at the upcoming 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, USA from July 25th to August 2nd.

September 26, 2014 – On the eve of the 2014 Ryder Cup, before Europe and the USA do battle, hear European Captain Paul McGinley discuss how he copes with the pressure of captaincy as well as sharing personal memories of the most eagerly anticipated team event on the golf calendar.

Paul McGinley’s interview includes special anecdotes regarding the late Seve Ballesteros, a round of golf with the President of the United States Barak Obama and even practical jokes. He aims to crown Europe’s third win in succession at the 2014 Ryder Cup.

September 21, 2014 – Fresh from naming his three picks and additional Vice-Captains, Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley has announced another decision ahead of leading the European team against the USA at Gleneagles.

The popular Irishman with an International Business Degree has increased the level of his personal investment in Europe’s biggest golf club rental firm, ClubstoHire.com, in which he was a founding investor in 2010.

He has also committed to represent the Dublin-based enterprise – with its 21 locations across the Mediterranean and South Africa – in a promotional capacity for the next seven years.

“I’m really excited about what the future holds for ClubstoHire, given the speed at which the business has grown over the past four years,” said Paul McGinley, who recently presented the company’s 125,000th customer with a new set of golf clubs and bag. “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to increase my investment in such an innovative company that is intent on getting more people playing golf at a reasonable cost in different locations across the world.”
