Golf Pride – The new CP, to play what feels good with the newest addition

July 21, 2026 – Golf Pride, a leading innovator in golf equipment and maker of the world’s most played golf grips, unveils CP, the newest addition to the ultra-soft CP collection that keeps players hands light and relaxed, even when the pressure is anything but.

As part of the trusted and beloved CP family, CP provides the tackiness and softness that players have come to love in the collection, with the addition of new enhanced features and tech for today’s modern golfer.

“For a lot of players, feeling good on the course is what matters more than birdies and bogeys,” says Jamie Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “With the CP, we’re showing golfers how a grip can give them a feeling of comfort and confidence and allow them to enjoy a full round with a constant feeling of connection to the club in each and every swing.”

With a loyal following among its faithful players, the CP collection is trusted at all levels of golf, including recent appearances in 2026 major tournaments on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.

Along with Plus4 Technology, the CP is the ultimate comfort profile to feel good about every swing. The refreshed style and performance features include:

  • Localized Tack and Traction Zones: Dual-feel comfort performance delivering maximum tack in the glove hand interaction for total confidence and zero slip in the lower hand connection for unapparelled consistency.
  • Soft Feel: Dampens feedback at impact for a more cushioned experience, helping reduce hand soreness.
  • Reduced Taper: A larger lower hand promotes lighter grip pressure, reducing tension throughout the swing – aligning with the trend toward larger grip profiles.

CP is now available in both standard and midsize at all major retailers and online stores. Global on sale date for the Standard model will be 4th August, with Midsize to follow soon after.

Golf Pride – Based on Align Technology’s success, adding ZGRIP and new sizes to the Align MAX category

March 18, 2026 – Golf Pride, a leading innovator in golf equipment and maker of the world’s most popular golf grips, is expanding its ALIGN MAX offerings after an increase in demand from both amateur and professional players. The industry’s most advanced raised ridge technology is now available in the popular ZGRIP model, as well as Jumbo size in MCC Plus4.

Designed to help golfers maintain consistent hand placement throughout the swing and improve clubface awareness for maximum confidence, ALIGN technology was released in 2017 and quickly built a large and loyal following.

In response to player feedback about the desire for an even more pronounced ridge, Golf Pride introduced ALIGN MAX in 2025. This second-generation design features a 25% higher ridge to achieve the maximum desired feel and consistency. It quickly gained traction among PGA TOUR players and amateurs, including the winner of the 2026 THE PLAYERS Championship, Cameron Young, who relied on ALIGN MAX MCC Plus4 grips.

To build upon the popularity of ALIGN MAX, Golf Pride identified consumer trends in the golf grip category, indicating golfer interest in grips of a larger size and firmer feel. With those trends in mind, coupled with TOUR feedback, the new line extension offering jumbo sizing and the ZGRIP model gives golfers a wider variety of options for ALIGN MAX’s best-in-class reminder ridge.

“The first step in our innovation process at Golf Pride is asking one simple question: what is going to help golfers improve and reach their goals? When we hear feedback from players that they like the concept of a new technology like ALIGN MAX and want to try it in a different style or size, the engineers in our Global Innovation Centre begin a rigorous research, design, and testing process to execute that vision,” said James Ledford, President of Golf Pride.

“With this line extension, we aim to give golfers who prefer a firmer grip feel or a larger grip size the opportunity to game ALIGN MAX.”

Benefits of ALIGN MAX and raised ridge technology include:

  • Consistent Hand Placement: Fits into the hand’s natural contours, promoting consistent hand placement and alignment.
  • Clubface Awareness: Enhances face angle awareness at setup and throughout the swing, promoting a square clubface.
  • Player Confidence: Consistent hand placement facilitates a more repeatable swing, which helps build greater confidence.

ALIGN MAX now offers ZGRIP, MCC, and MCC Plus4 grip models in standard and midsize. The new jumbo option is available for the MCC Plus4 model.

Golf Pride – New ALIGN MAX, the next evolution in Raised Ridge Grip Technology

February 12, 2025 – Golf Pride, a leading innovator in golf equipment and maker of the world’s most popular golf grips, introduces ALIGN MAX, revolutionary grip technology designed to help players of all skill levels maintain consistent hand placement throughout the swing.

ALIGN technology debuted in 2017, with the first raised ridge design pulling in a number of players on Tour and a strong amateur fanbase. Since 2017, ALIGN has become one of the most successful grip technologies in Golf Pride’s history.

Even with these accolades, the brand heard feedback that some players wanted an even more pronounced ridge. This inspired the creation of ALIGN MAX, a second generation design that supplements the original by offering an alternative that features a ridge 25% higher to achieve the maximum desired feel and consistency. It also includes a longer ridge that runs from top-to-bottom of the grip, providing players flexibility to adjust their hand placement for any shot.

“Our brand purpose is to design grips for the hands of all golfers that will inspire a feeling of confidence so they can perform their best,” says James Ledford, President of Golf Pride.

“With ALIGN MAX we reached new heights of what is possible in grip design, resulting in breakthrough technology that provides golfers the confidence their hands are in the right place every shot, for unparalleled consistency.”

Over the past seven years, ALIGN has acquired a worldwide following, including at the highest levels of professional golf. It has been part of numerous victories and major championships across all major global Tours. Following in its footsteps, ALIGN MAX recently won its PGA Tour debut at the Farmers Insurance Open.

ALIGN MAX will not replace the original ALIGN, rather it is an additional option for players who prefer to maximise the benefits of raised ridge technology, which include:

  • Consistent Hand Placement:Fits into the hand’s natural contours, promoting consistent hand placement and alignment.
  • Clubface Awareness:Enhances face angle awareness at set up and throughout the swing, promoting a square clubface.
  • Player Confidence:Consistent hand placement helps facilitate a more repeatable swing, which helps build greater confidence.

ALIGN MAX is now available in MCC and MCC Plus4 grip models in both standard and midsize at all major retailers and online stores.

Grips – Strict Rules of Golf, Mr. Bond? James Bond and Golf Pride Celebrate The Secret Agent 007 in Style

October 2, 2024 – Golf Pride, an industry leader in innovation and golf performance equipment, has partnered with EON Productions to create a limited edition 007-themed golf grip kit.

Paying homage to the 60th anniversary of the 1964 film Goldfinger, this kit includes 14 custom grips and a specially crafted gold bar collector display.

Golf Pride applied its vast experience with design and material innovation to build the base performance for this product, before tackling the fun challenge of bringing to life a grip that embodies the cultural phenomenon that is James Bond.

The tuxedo inspired grip represents the best of Bond, a tribute to the character’s impeccable style and refinement as he has evolved over the last six decades. A 007 embossed surface pattern with lapels from the Goldfinger era merges seamlessly with a diamond quilted design, evoking the white dress shirt of a modern secret agent. A black grosgrain bow tie and gold accents complete the look, mirroring the suave style of GoldenEye.

Perfect for anyone who wants to manifest their inner James Bond, the kit retails for £189 and will be available for pre-sale on 007Store.com beginning October 1st.

“While we’re a performance equipment brand at heart, and this grip certainly carries the innovative and high-quality hallmarks of Golf Pride, we really wanted to have fun with this one,” said James Ledford, President of Golf Pride.

With the James Bond kit, Golf Pride continues to find new ways to marry golf and culture in the form of unique product experiences. Early this summer, Golf Pride launched a collaboration with Stephen Curry. “Whether it’s partnering with a legendary film franchise like James Bond, or a global sports icon like Stephen Curry, we want to offer golfers unique ways to connect to the game through their passions,” adds Ledford.

“One important note, regarding the product itself. While James Bond always adheres to the strict rules of golf, these grips do not. Our goal with them was to have fun, push our design capability, and create a stylish product that captured the essence of Mr. Bond. Whilst we have achieved this goal, this product is non-conforming for competition play purely based upon its design features, rather than providing golfers with any unfair advantage.”

Golf Pride – The Honorary Starter Limited Edition Grip to celebrates the First Major in Augusta

April 3, 2024 –  Golf Pride, an industry leader in golf performance equipment, is celebrating the annual trip to Augusta, GA with the unveiling of its 2024 Honorary Starter grip, a commemorative version of the MCC Plus4 that is available through select retailers beginning April 8. Golf Pride has a long and storied history of success in Augusta with its first victory coming in the 1967 tournament. Over the last 56 years, Golf Pride has been trusted by the hands of 43 champions, including an unprecedented run of 17 consecutive victories between 1987 and 2003.

Golf Pride’s MCC collection is the most widely used golf grip in the world. This is true at the amateur level as well as all professional tours across the globe. In fact, MCC will be trusted by many of the athletes competing in the 2024 tournament. Golf Pride expects to be in the hands of at least 80% of players in Augusta with MCC representing 30% of those players.

As such, this grip is designed to evoke the prestige, lore and mystique of the tournament and pays homage to the success of both Golf Pride and MCC over the years in Augusta. As with all MCC Plus4 models, it is a hybrid golf grip designed with a larger lower hand section that simulates four additional wraps of tape to encourage lighter grip pressure, reduced tension, and increased speed.

“The first major championship of the season is here and we are proud to have been trusted by the hands of so many past champions in the event’s storied history,” says James Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “The legends who have chosen our grips over the past 60 years are a testament to the innovation, quality and longevity of our brand. The Honorary Starter pays tribute to the past while utilising the modern technology that has made Golf Pride the most recognisable grip brand in the world.”

The 2024 limited edition design will be available in both standard and midsize.

Golf Pride – All new putter grips with Reverse Taper Technology, for a more square clubface at impact

March 5, 2024 – Golf Pride, an industry leader in golf performance equipment, unveils its new putter grip featuring Reverse Taper Technology. Engineered to optimise both hands during the putting stroke to help square the clubface at impact, Reverse Taper putter grips are available for purchase at retail and golf course locations from the 4th of March.

Drawing on 75 years of inspiration, coupled with extensive consumer testing, Golf Pride designed Reverse Taper with a slimmer upper half and wider lower section to help anchor the top hand for stability and reduce tension in the lower hand for smooth acceleration through the stroke. Additionally, Reverse Taper prevents micro-levers in the stroke, helping golfers to not flip their wrists at impact.

Reverse Taper is constructed using polyurethane to deliver the right softness, texture and weight that enables more consistency and confidence in golfers’ hands. The feel is soft, yet responsive with unique traction elements to help each hand control speed.

The grips feature a vibrant colour palette with visual cues and textures to help with finger placement regardless of how a player likes to grip their putter. Despite there being multiple sizes, the weight of each model maintains a balanced ‘sweet spot’ so golfers can sense the putter head throughout the stroke.

Reverse Taper is available in two sizes in three unique shapes:

  • Round – Universally popular for all hand gripping techniques; features a traditionally round upper section that tapers into a wider lower section
  • Pistol – Classic pistol shape to help golfers lock in their upper hand; designed for all and often popular with players who use a left-hand-low technique (right-handed golfer)
  • Flat – Slightly more oval shaped upper section; designed for all and often preferred by golfers with a palm-to-palm putting stroke style

“Within the putter grip category, we observed a trend in which manufacturers were actively trying to design products that removed the hands from the putting process, whereas our research indicates that by optimising the connection between the hands and grip, players can improve their performance,” says James Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “Through hundreds of concept iterations, our innovation team created Reverse Taper, which has tested quite positively with players of all skill levels.”

Reverse Taper is just the second product in Golf Pride’s storied history that was conceptualised, designed and tested at their state-of-the-art Global Innovation Center in Pinehurst, USA. Located next to world-famous Pinehurst No.8, the GIC is the epicentre for all global consumer research, product design and brand marketing.

  • PGA Tour: Golf Pride grips were part of 41 out of 45 wins (91%) in the 2023 PGA Tour season, increasing to 51 wins out of 56 (91%) when including the fall season at the end of 2022.
  • DP World Tour and LPGA Tour: Players using Golf Pride grips won 33 out of 39 events (85%) on the DP World Tour and 29 out of 31 events (94%) on the LPGA Tour in 2023.

James Ledford, President of Golf Pride, commented: “We are thrilled that top players globally continue to trust our products in their quest for major titles. Our success is particularly unique as we do not pay professionals to use our grips. Their choice to use Golf Pride speaks to our continuous effort to inspire a feeling of confidence in all golfers.”

NOTABLE USAGE IN KEY TOURNAMENTS:

  • BMW PGA Championship: 134 out of 138 players (97.1%) chose Golf Pride at Wentworth.
  • Ryder Cup: 22 out of 24 players used Golf Pride grips at Marco Simone Country Club in Rome.
  • DP World Tour Championship: 46 out of 50 qualifying players (92%) trusted Golf Pride in the final Rolex Series event.

Building on an impressive 2023, where Golf Pride achieved 105 global tour wins, the brand also serves approximately six million golfers worldwide.

Golf Pride – The 97% of DP World Tour players trusted Golf Pride at BMW PGA Championship

September 19, 2023 – Golf Pride, a leading golf equipment brand and the number one grip in golf, has announced that 97% of the DP World Tour professionals that teed it up in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth did so with Golf Pride grips in their bags.

In total, 134 out of the 138 players in the field trusted Golf Pride grips in their pursuit of a Rolex Series title. Each and every one of those players made the decision to play Golf Pride, as the company doesn’t pay a single player on any global golf tour – a testament to the quality and consistency of the products on offer.

Each of the players that finished inside the top ten on the leaderboard on Sunday, including the eventual champion, Ryan Fox, had Golf Pride grips in their bags.

Eric Gibson, Global Commercial Director of Golf Pride, said: “We’re delighted that almost the entire field at Wentworth chose to trust Golf Pride grips as they competed in one of the most significant events on the DP World Tour calendar.

“Knowing that so many tour professionals are choosing to use Golf Pride week-in-week-out is fantastic validation for the products that our research and development team are producing. The grips that you saw on some of the world’s best players’ clubs last week at Wentworth are exactly the same as those that consumers can buy in their local golf stores, so we’re really putting tour-proven technology and performance into the hands of golfers around the world.”

In addition to the overall usage figure, Golf Pride’s Tour Velvet grip was the most in-play full swing model across all club categories (driver, fairway woods, hybrids, utility irons, irons, wedges). Furthermore, MCC (in various iterations) was the second most popular full swing grip type in all main categories.

This information was gathered as part of the Sporting Insights equipment survey which took place during the week of the BMW PGA Championship, prior to the first round.

Golf Pride – A research confirms increased ball speed and carry with fresh grips

May 31, 2023 – Golf Pride, an industry leader in innovation and sports performance equipment, has announced the results of the first of a series of research studies into grip performance, that has concluded that new golf grips offer an increased average carry length of 2.3 yards on full golf shots.

Players taking part in the study found that their average ball speed (average: 121.6 mph) increased by 1.3mph, and the average carry length (average: 168.6 yards) increased by 2.3 yards with the designated test club. Moreover, 82% of the participants surveyed felt that the new grip was ‘secure to very secure’ in their hands. Whereas, for non-new grips, only 24% said the grip felt ‘secure, to very secure’.

Greg Cavill, Global Project Engineering Manager for Eaton Corporation, and his team, conducted this study – he said: “The results of this detailed test clearly demonstrate that there are tangible and defined benefits to re-gripping. We’ve proven within this study that new grips can offer 2.3 yards of additional carry, increased ball speeds, and, importantly, greater confidence with the club in the hands.

“We’re excited to continue exploring the benefits of re-gripping, and further understanding how the connection between the hands and the grip can have an impact on performance,” he added.

Over 80% of players do not regrip their clubs every year. If this population were to replace their worn grips with new grips at least once per year, they would see an increase in consistent face impacts leading to performance gains.

Audrey Rodriguez, Head of Global Brand Marketing for Golf Pride, commented: “With this latest research study, we can decidedly say that fresh grips have a positive impact on your game. An extra couple of yards’ carry could be the difference between a birdie and a bogey, so understanding the benefits of new vs worn grips will allow golfers to continually perform at their optimum levels.” She added: “This is very much the tip of the iceberg of what we’re doing as an industry leader to drive the importance of the grip category, and highlight grips as a key piece of performance equipment within the game.”

Golf Pride – The innovation continues with new CPX, the softest performance grip yet

March 31, 2022 – Golf Pride, an industry leader in innovation and sports performance equipment, announced today the introduction of CPX, the company’s softest performance grip yet. The new CPX — standing for “Comfort Performance Extreme” — provides superior feel through a combination of extreme softness and exceptional new technology, including the company’s first-ever raised, EXO diamond-quilted pattern. For players who seek the confidence that comes from the feel of a high-performance, comfortable grip, the CPX is a game changer.

“The connection between the hands and mind is critical in the game of golf,” said Jamie Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “We’re so excited about CPX because the new design and ultra-soft rubber compound we’ve developed take this connection to the next level. Anyone who tries the CPX will immediately feel the difference.”

The new CPX — the first grip completely concepted and developed at Golf Pride’s new Global Innovation Centre in Pinehurst, North Carolina — is constructed from a very soft and responsive rubber compound that moulds to the golfer’s hands for the ultimate in comfort and stress relief. The soft and tacky material features a 45-degree diamond pattern inspired by the grips on BMX bikes.

This new tactile design is raised to maximise contact-area with the golfer’s hands, enhancing performance. In addition, the innovative Control Core in the grip’s end-cap complements the soft rubber compound to afford the best of both worlds: maximum softness and maximum control.

A Soft Grip for a Hard Game

With the introduction of CPX, Golf Pride is also unveiling a second new “feel.” The brand’s latest campaign – “A Soft Grip for a Hard Game” – is an intentional departure from the golf category’s historical focus on performance claims and product specs in marketing materials. Confidence through comfort is integral to reach the most optimal performance in the golfer’s game. “A Soft Grip for a Hard Game” is aimed at players of all types from highly competitive golfers to weekend warriors and all those in between.

“We know that golfers of every calibre quest for the ‘right feel’ when they have a club in their hands,” said Eric Gibson, Global Head of Marketing, Golf Pride. “The new CPX, and the marketing campaign behind it, focuses on exactly that. Golf is hard. There’s a lot to think about. We believe that the right grip can create comfort – for your hands and your mind – regardless of your skill level. We are excited to lean more into this approach in our messaging and feel it reflects the positive change and growth that golf is experiencing.”

The new CPX will be available from professional shops and selected retailers around Europe from April 1st.
