Bettinardi Golf – Matt Fitzpatrick wins RBC Heritage 2023 with the Bettinardi BB1 Flow putter

April 18, 2023 – Bettinardi Staffer Matt Fitzpatrick achieved victory in a nail-biting 3-round playoff win this weekend at the RBC Heritage 2023 at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. Fitzpatrick relied on his trusty DASS (Double-Aged Stainless Steel) BB1 Flow putter, demonstrating a putting masterclass, making 61/61 putts inside 7 feet across the four rounds.

Fitzpatrick, who won his first PGA Tour and first Major at the U.S. Open in June of 2022, shot a career-low round of 63 at the Hilton Head course. Fitzpatrick put forth a powerful putting performance all week, securing 19 birdies over four rounds, including 1 eagle in round 3.

Fitzpatrick continues to use the same BB1 Flow that helped him achieve greatness in Brookline last June. Matt’s putter is milled from Double-Aged Stainless Steel, has a two-tone black oxide and tour blast finish, and features the pre-cursor face milling to the new Roll Control face.

The Roll Control face has grooves machined at a precise angle to get the ball into a true roll faster, validated by the Major Champion. Matt’s putter was accompanied by a red tartan Tour Dept. blade headcover, perfectly matching the victor’s new tartan jacket.

This is the first victory of the 2023 season for Fitzpatrick. The putting pro is now ranked #1 in both putting from 3’ and inside 10’, #2 in putting from 5’, and #4 in putting from 4-8’.

“Watching Matt close it out on his third playoff hole in dramatic fashion against one of the game’s best players was so impressive to watch as he finished like the true champion that he is,” said Sam Bettinardi, President of Bettinardi Golf. “This marks our company’s fifth victory at the RBC Heritage in our 25-year history and we could not be prouder of Matt and his bold victory.”

With this victory, the 28-year-old Englishman is ranked 22nd on the FedEx Cup Season Standings and moves up from 16th to 8th in the Official World Golf Rankings, the best ranking in his career so far.

Bettinardi Golf – Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the premium putter brand in 2023

January 27, 2023 – Bettinardi Golf is proud to be celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2023 as the leading short-game equipment provider in the game of golf.

Bettinardi Golf was established in 1998 by manufacturer, designer, and engineer Robert J. Bettinardi. With a detailed eye for innovation, the high-class craftsman entered the putter industry with his own namesake brand after milling putters for golf’s biggest OEMs from 1991-1998. It was during this time that Robert forever changed the way putters would be made by being the first person to mill a putter head from a solid block of steel, without using forgings, castings, or welds.

From Robert’s one-piece milled putter methodology, best-in-class face millings, innovative head designs, stunning finishes, and newly pioneered Armlock technology, Bettinardi Golf has stayed at the forefront of golf equipment innovation over the past 25 years.

“I am so proud of this huge milestone for Bettinardi, and all that we have accomplished over the last 25 years,” says Robert Bettinardi, Founder and CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “From the 100 professional wins to the cult-like following in The Hive of our bespoke offerings, and with distribution in over 45 countries around the world, Bettinardi’s future has never been brighter.”

Bettinardi will be celebrating this 25th Anniversary milestone by releasing one Limited Edition putter every month in 2023 that celebrates the company’s heritage, innovation, and craftsmanship over the past 25 years. Putters will be released in quantities of 250 pieces per month and will be available in The Hive online and at select Bettinardi specialty dealers worldwide.

To lead off with this milestone, Bettinardi Golf is bringing back the BB1 MS, one of Robert’s first putters ever produced.

Bettinardi Golf – Fred Couples secures SAS Championship and Bettinardi’s 100th victory in record-breaking fashion

October 21, 2022 – Bettinardi Tour staffer Fred Couples secured his 14th win on the PGA Tour Champions this past weekend at the SAS Championship at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. Couples shot an astounding 12 under par (60) on Sunday, which was the lowest final-round score by a PGA Tour Champions winner in the Tour’s 43-year history.

After a strong start to the weekend with 68’s on both Friday and Saturday, Couples separated himself from the field with his record-setting performance. His score Sunday was the lowest he’s shot in competition, with twelve birdies and six pars, and a putting average of 1.467 putts per hole throughout the tournament. He started the day tied for the lead and finished 6 strokes ahead of second place after birdieing 12 of his last 14 holes.

“I think it’s the best round I ever played,” said Fred Couples, who beat his age by three shots with his Sunday round.

As if the golf veteran’s weekend wasn’t monumental enough, the Bettinardi Golf Tour staffer, Fred Couples, also secured Bettinardi’s 100th professional victory. Couples has been with Bettinardi since 2013, and has secured 6 PGA Tour Champions wins in his time using a Bettinardi putter. Couples now putts with a DASS Studio Stock 28 with a welded flow neck for more toe hang.

“Fred Couples has been a staple of the Bettinardi Tour staff since he joined our brand nearly 10 years ago,” said Robert Bettinardi, CEO/Founder of Bettinardi Golf. “With his remarkable round, Fred’s win marks our brand’s 100th professional victory since I founded Bettinardi 24 years ago. We couldn’t have picked a more iconic player to reach this milestone.”

In the coming weeks, Bettinardi will be celebrating their centennial victory with limited product released in The Hive.

Bettinardi Golf – Matt Fitzpatrick wins 2022 US Open with his trusty Bettinardi BB1 Flow putter

June 21, 2022 – Bettinardi Brand Advocate Matt Fitzpatrick won his first major victory this weekend at the United States Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick relied on his trusty DASS (Double-Aged Stainless Steel) BB1 Flow putter to post a tournament total at 6 under par (274), and fend off a star-studded field for a dramatic Father’s Day victory.

Fitzpatrick, who won the U.S. Amateur in 2013, returned to The Country Club just 9 years later to reclaim victory. Fitzpatrick is one of only two people in golf history to win the men’s US Open and the U.S. Amateur at the same course; Jack Nicklaus is the only other player to accomplish the same feat.

Fitzpatrick put forth a powerful putting performance all week, tallying 19 birdies over four rounds, including 5 birdies on Sunday to seal the tournament victory.

Fitzpatrick started tinkering with the Bettinardi BB1F back in 2017 when he first took his long-time gamer out of play and then became a full-time Bettinardi staffer in January of 2021. Matt’s putter is milled from Double-Aged Stainless Steel, has a two-tone black oxide and tour blast finish, and features the pre-cursor face milling to the new Roll Control face. The now trademarked Roll Control face has grooves that are machined at a precise angle in order to get the ball into a true roll faster, validated by the Major Champion.

This is the first victory on US soil for Fitzpatrick. He has 7 additional international victories and 23 Top 10 Finishes in his career.

“Matt’s first major victory put a huge exclamation mark on all the hard work we have done over the last 7 years making him countless prototypes,” said Sam Bettinardi, President of Bettinardi Golf.

“Matt is arguably the most discerning player in the world when it comes to his equipment, having no equipment sponsor besides our brand. It is a huge testament to our craft, and now being able to enjoy his first major, and our 98th professional win since 1998 makes it that much more special.”

With this victory, the 27-year-old Englishman is now ranked 10th on the FedExCup Season Standings, and moves up from 18th to 10th in the Official World Golf Rankings. This latest victory brings Bettinardi’s total to 98 worldwide tour wins since 1998 and includes 5 major victories in that timeframe.

Bettinardi Golf – New Studio Stock, Queen B and Inovai premium putters for 2021

December 28, 2020 – Bettinardi Golf, leader brand in precision-milled putters and inventor of one-piece technology, has announced their all-new production of putter collections for 2021/22, the Studio Stock, Queen B series and Inovai 7.0.

Robert and Sam Bettinardi continue their legacy, bringing us the next generation of world-class milled putters in the upgraded Queen B and Studio Stock series. All putters are crafted in the USA with a variety of face milling technologies, including their newest Roll Control Face which is featured on the 2021 Studio Stock series.

Tour inspired and designed in conjunction with some of the best golfers of the world, each new putter underwent rigorous testing and milling procedures from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility right outside of Chicago.

Exclusive in the Studio Stock 2021 models, the new Roll Control Face milling was scientifically engineered with an asymmetrical design groove profile that promotes more topspin at impact, and shortens the distance the ball takes to acquire a true roll with each putt.

Precision-milled from 303 Stainless Steel, 2021 Studio Stock series includes 7 putters, starting with the Studio Stock 17 with the first ever soft Tri-sole design, and ending with the timeless Studio Stock 18 blade. From the high toe SS17 to the low profile body SS18, both incorporate highly sought-after Tour features.

“We are proud to bring more design features from the world’s best players to the general public”, Sam Bettinardi said.

“The new Studio Stock series offers Bettinardi’s latest enhancements in design, performance and quality. From a soft-Tri sole on the SS17, to the sleek appearance on the SS18, we took highly-requested Tour features to production to give all golfers champion-level confidence at every crucial putt”.

The redesigned and elegant Queen B 2021 series continues the refined, multi-Tour winning Queen B6 wide-body blade. The upgraded series also features two completely new models, the Queen B11, a compact mallet, and the Queen B12, a fresh blade in a traditional style.

Beauty meets innovation in this lineup, as each Queen B putter is milled from a single block of soft Carbon Steel to 362 grams, including Micro Honeycomb Face Milling, and is completed in a stunning and durable Rose Golf PVD finish.

“It’s the ultimate in both performance and aesthetic charm. Our new Rose Gold finish is absolutely beautiful, and makes the line an unmatched work of art,” Founder Robert Bettinardi said.

Lastly, the Inovai 7.0 is added alongside the esteemed Inovai 6.0, furthering the promise of offering MOI with feel. Its upgrade makes it the highest MOI putter ever produced by Bettinardi, a 30% higher than the 2003 U.S. Open winner model that inspired it.

Precision-milled from 303 Stainless Steel and 6061 Military-Grade Aluminum, the bi-metal technology optimizes weight distribution with more mass in the rear, providing ultimate forgiveness and stability.

“While the 7.0 is inspired from past success, the model is completely upgraded with our new bi-metal technology, combining Bettinardi’s values of heritage and innovation to offer confidence-inspiring looks with modern performance benefits,” concludes Sam Bettinardi.

Bettinardi Golf – The Studio Stock 38 Armlock, a mallet model added to the Armlock putter range

March 18, 2019 – Bettinardi Golf, known for their world class putters, which are precision milled in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility just outside of Chicago, has extended their Studio Stock line to include the Studio Stock 38 Armlock. The SS38 Armlock, milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel, will now offer amateur golfers alike a high performing, compact mallet in an Armlock style putter. The SS38 joins the SS28 Slotback as the 2nd Armlock option in the Golf Digest Gold winning 2019 Studio Stock Series.

Bettinardi Golf pioneered the Armlock technology in 2013 with Bob Bettinardi and his work alongside staff player Matt Kuchar, a 9-time PGA Tour winner. Kuchar, who was looking for ways to become a more consistent putter after winning the PGA Tour money title in 2010, turned to Bob to become his go-to source for his most trusted club in the bag. Over the last nine months on the PGA Tour, the Armlock technique of putting has won eight times including two by Matt Kuchar, creating a surge in demand and interest in the unique style.

“The Beauty of the Armlock style of putting is that it takes out any unwanted wrist and hand motion in the putting stroke, and putts an emphasis on the upper body in order to swing it more consistently under pressure when it matters most”, said Sam Bettinardi, Vice President of Bettinardi Golf.

“We are very proud to have been the first company in golf to introduce the Armlock method of putting six years ago with Matt Kuchar, and will continue promoting and investing in this method by adding the SS38 as a new mallet option”.

The All-New Studio Stock 38 Armlock Putter

The Studio Stock 38 Armlock mallet putter was crafted from the finest 303 Stainless Steel, and precision milled to a 400-gram head weight with Bettinardi’s patented F.I.T. Face Milling. The SS38 was engineered to be a more rounded, compact, cavity-back mallet to offer players high MOI, forgiveness, and easy alignment. Completed in a stunning hand-polished platinum finish, the SS38 is extremely durable and offers a clean appearance with its single-bend look with one shaft of offset, and minimal toe hang. The SS38 Armlock it has a 40″ standard lenght and will be paired with a 15” Deep Etched Cord Grip by Lamkin and a premium matching headcover.

December 5, 2018 – The premium putter brand Bettinardi has introduced a stunning new range of putters for 2019, hand-crafted, which has been designed and developed with the help of its Tour ambassadors, including the Open Champion and Ryder Cup hero, Francesco Molinari.

The new Studio Stock Series includes the SS2, SS28 Slot Back and SS38 models, made from extremely durable 303 stainless steel and the softest face milling in the company’s history, thanks to CNC-Machining advancements perfected over the last 20 years. The end product is the softest face ever milled by Bettinardi, which was the winner when Molinari put his milling face into play to win the Claret Jug in Carnoustie.

The latest Queen B range includes the re-engineered QB5 and QB6 models, plus the all-new QB10 featuring the exclusive Bettinardi Micro Honeycomb Face milling, which offers a muted yet crisp feel at impact for players looking for constant speed and feel. The new putters have been perfected following the contribution of the Tour ambassadors of the brand, such as Matt Kuchar, Li Haotong, Fred Couples and Francesco himself, along with the expertise of Robert Bettinardi over the last thirty years of dedication to the fine tuning premium products.

The 2019 range consists of 12 premium putters, including the SS28 Slot Back with centre shaft and ArmLock, which also includes the award-winning BB models (BB1, BB29, BB39 and BB56).

“These new putters have been proven on the game’s biggest stages, along with being significantly tested at our headquarters to produce the best range we have ever had,” says Robert Bettinardi, founder of the company.

“Each putter is hand-crafted in the USA from a single piece of high-quality milled carbon or stainless steel of high quality, using the most advanced CNC milling technology and expert craftsmanship. Moving into our 20th Anniversary of production next year, we look back with huge satisfaction thanks to our great victories. But we also pride ourselves on producing a range that is suitable for every golfer, from the elite professionals to enthusiastic amateurs,” he adds.

Studio Stock Series (SS): All models of the new SS series incorporate the deepest F.I.T (Feel Impact Technology) Face ever produced by the brand, 20% deeper than in previous models, to offer an even softer feel at impact in a highly durable 303 stainless steel, milled from a solid block of metal, with a platinum finish. The SS2 makes its way back to the series introducing aesthetic and performance enhancements; the first-ever SS28 Slot Back offers an impressive crossover between a blade and mini-mallet with maximum forgiveness; and the SS38 is a newly designed rounded, compact, cavity-back mallet, easy to align and with a lot of forgiveness.

Queen B (QB): Designed to combine performance with stunning looks, the QB5, QB6 and QB10 putters are milled using the best possible blend of soft carbon steel, completed with a Champagne Silver finish and Tiffany Blue hand-painted colour scheme. The QB5 is ideal for those who seek a heavier feel; the QB6 offers an elegant crossover between a blade and mallet, with refined characteristics in a wide body and flange; and the new QB10 has been refined as a traditional rounded mallet, with softer visual cues, a crescent neck, and the superior performance of its Micro Honeycomb milling face, which Bettinardi has included in the 2019 collection given the much praise it has received on Tour.

Bettinardi Golf – Matt Kuchar’s faith in his Bettinardi ArmLock putter pays off

November 13, 2018 – Matt Kuchar kept faith with his Bettinardi ArmLock putter to claim his first PGA Tour title in four years by winning the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Using his custom Tour Dept. DASS KM-1 (Kuchar Model 1) ArmLock model from the specialist milled putter manufacturer based in Tinley Park, Illinois, Kuchar rattled in a clutch putt from three-feet on the 18th for his eighth PGA title following a final round 69 (-2) and a one-shot victory.

The 40-year-old shot a tournament record (-22) – including 26-birdies – for his best 72-hole score on Tour and 14th career victory. With the win, Kuchar jumps 11 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), to 29th.

“My putter was hot all week and having made so many birdies, I knew it wouldn’t let me down at the end,” said Matt Kuchar, whose last victory came at the 2014 RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina. “It feels so good to be back in the winner’s circle. I’ve worked so hard on my putting and I’ve always trusted the technique Bob and I created. I just needed things to fall into place,” he added.

Kuchar designed his 40.5” DASS KM-1 putter with F.I.T Face Technology together with master craftsman Bob Bettinardi. It features a long grip that he locks parallel to his left forearm for a more stable putting stroke – known as the ArmLock. The pair have worked together since 2011 and Bettinardi is the only equipment manufacturer to offer an ArmLock model to golfers.

“It was Matt’s idea to try the ArmLock method,” said Bob Bettinardi. “He wanted something to take the small muscles out of his putting stroke and after testing he settled on the Model 1, because he wanted a blade-style putter with a wider body to give him a better view of the sightline when pressing forward,” he added.

The win is Bettinardi’s ninth on Tour this season including the brand’s third Major title, with Francesco Molinari’s victory at The Open at Carnoustie in July. China’s newest golfing superstar Haotong Li has also enjoyed a record season using his custom Studio Stock 3 Tour Edition putter to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January, before switching to his custom Tour Soft Carbon BBZero. He’s registered five top-10 finishes in his last six starts and jumped 15 spots to 41st in the OWGR.

DASS KM-1 (Kuchar Model 1) facts:

  • Face Balanced Putter (Heel Toe Weighted with no toe-hang) with F.I.T. Face Technology
  • 400 grams with 2.5 offset (forcing the club forward)
  • 70 Degrees of loft & 71 degrees of lie
