Bettinardi Golf – Francesco Molinari becomes Champion Golfer at The Open with a Bettinardi premium putter

July 23, 2018 – Francesco Molinari withstood a final round challenge from playing partner Tiger Woods to win his first Major title at the 147th Open Championship with another world-class putting performance using his Bettinardi BBZero Tour putter.

The new Champion Golfer of the Year and the most consistent player in the world in recent months, birdied the formidable 18th hole for a final bogey-free round of 69 and a two-shot victory at Carnoustie, where his putts per GIR amounted to 1.770. Starting three shots back from the leaders, including defending champion Jordan Spieth, he became the fifth golfer to hold the lead during a captivating day, as his last putt secured Italy’s first Major title four years before the country hosts The Ryder Cup.

The popular Italian signed with Bettinardi at the start of the year and switched to his current Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour putter before the Players Championship in May, ahead of winning the BMW PGA Championship and achieving his first PGA Tour title at the Quicken Loans National earlier this month with a resounding eight-shot victory.

Armed with the confidence gained from his trusted Bettinardi putter, Francesco has now achieved a remarkable sequence of three wins and two runner-up spots in his last six starts. At the toughest of the British Open venues, he played 37 holes without dropping a shot and managed an unrivalled bogey-free weekend on the wind-swept links course. Always known as one of the straightest hitters on Tour, it was once believed that putting under pressure was his Achilles heel. Not any longer, as he now ranks at No.6 in the world.

“I think it will take a long time for this to sink in,” said Francesco Molinari after accepting the Claret Jug. “To go bogey-free at the weekend around a track like this, it’s very good. I was as calm as you can be in the final round in The Open. I felt like I was ready for it,” added the 35-year-old, who recently visit the Bettinardi plant in Chicago where his putter was crafted.

“We’re so proud to see Francesco winning his first Major title and become the hottest player in the world right now with a Bettinardi putter that we created for him,” said company President Robert Bettinardi.

“Francesco’s magnificent achievement tops off a remarkable run of performances with a putter that clearly gives him enormous confidence every time he plays and our brand with an Italian heritage could not have a better playing ambassador,” he added.

Bettinardi Golf – Wentworth Masterclass from Molinari with new Bettinardi putter

May 30, 2018 – Francesco Molinari captured the European Tour’s flagship BMW PGA Championship title and a $1.1m prize after a flawless bogey-free weekend using a new Bettinardi putter he switched to just a few weeks ago.

Bettinardi’s Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour model, with FIT Face Milling and a sight dot on the top, proved the perfect companion for the 35-year-old over the final stages of the demanding Wentworth Club course, as he finished two shots ahead of three-time Major winner Rory McIlroy.

Molinari, who was runner-up in the event last year and has been in contention on several occasions in the past, recorded his maiden victory in the Tour’s Rolex Series and his fifth Tour title to end the day in third spot on the Race to Dubai. He also catapulted himself into fourth spot on the European Points List and into the projected automatic qualification places for The Ryder Cup in September.

“It’s great to come out on top after being close so many times down the years,” said Francesco Molinari, who can now look forward to returning home this week for the Italian Open – an event he won two years ago. “Today was another very solid day for me and it was just enough to get me over the line.”

The victory lifted Molinari’s earnings on the European Tour this season to $1.7m after just four events and he is averaging 27.3 putts and 1.712 putts per GIR.

He is the second Team Bettinardi player to win on the European Tour this season and the third overall, following Haotong Li’s victory with a Studio Stock 3 Tour putter in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January. Other Team Bettinardi players include Matt Kuchar and Fred Couples.

Bettinardi Golf – Li Haotong makes history with his new Bettinardi putter

January 29, 2018 – China’s new golfing superstar Li Haotong produced ‘putting perfection’ with his Bettinardi Custom Studio Stock 3 Tour Edition putter to win in Dubai last weekend and break a host of records.

The European Tour labelled Li’s performance in the final round with his Bettinardi putter as ‘putting perfection’ after he holed 14 out of 14 putts inside 10 foot and ranked 1st in both putts per GIR (1.49) and putts per round (23.8). Earlier in the round Li holed a putt from off the 15th green for birdie to level scores with Rory McIlroy after being two behind through 10 holes.

“The last four holes (I hit) some of the best shots in my life,” said 22-year-old Li, who now sits second in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

Winning by a stroke under incredible pressure in Dubai further cemented Li’s reputation as one of the Tour’s great clutch performers, following his closing 63 at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and his 64 to win the Volvo China Open on home soil last season.

“The impact this victory will have in China will be massive for the Bettinardi brand and vindicates our decision to grow our Tour Team this season,” said Robert Bettinardi, President and CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “Signing such an exciting prospect in Li truly expanded the global appeal among Tour players in our brand,” he added.

The latest member of Team Bettinardi alongside Matt Kuchar, Francesco Molinari and Fred Couples, Li became the holder of the lowest score at 23 under par; the first Asian winner of the event; and the first Chinese player on the men’s Tour to break into the world’s top 50.

In securing the Omega Dubai Desert Classic as his second European Tour title, Li registered an impressive total of 30 birdies during the tournament.

Premium Studio Stock models (SS3, SS8 and SS28) made in the USA from Soft Carbon Steel feature a Mercury Grey finish providing a confidence-inspiring look at address. All three models incorporate the brand’s F.I.T Face milling.

Bettinardi Golf – Fred Couples signs to play the premium putter brand on the PGA Champions Tour

January 22, 2018 – Fred Couples, one of the biggest star names in the game of golf, has signed to play Bettinardi premium putters exclusively on the PGA Champions Tour and in other events around the world this year.

The charismatic player from Seattle, who has won more than 60 professional tournaments – including 15 PGA Tour titles and 13 on the Champions Tour – joins the Bettinardi Tour staff on the eve of competing in the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hawaii, where he finished second last year.

“I’m really looking forward to representing Bettinardi and its beautiful range of hand-made putters, as they always give me great confidence when I’m standing over putts,” said Fred Couples. “Having won five times already with a Bettinardi putter, there’s nothing I’d rather be putting with.”

Famous for his smooth swing and rhythmic putting stroke, Couples has been using his namesake Bettinardi model – FCB (Fred Couples Blade) – for the past four years. During that time, he won five times on the Champions Tour and finished in the top 20 at three of the four Masters he played in, including T18 at Augusta last year.

Averaging 1.70 putts per hole when playing in 12 events with the Bettinardi Tour only putter last year, he won twice and had five top 10 results.

“Having Fred Couples join our Tour staff is a massive endorsement for Bettinardi Golf,” said founder Robert Bettinardi. “We’re so proud and excited to welcome him to our growing Tour staff. I’m sure he will prove to be a great ambassador for our brand, as he attracts huge crowds and media attention wherever he plays.”

Fred Couples, 58, was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013 after winning more than $30 million in prize money during a professional career that began in 1980. A former World No.1, he won the Masters in 1992 and The Players Championship in 1984 and 1996. He has also represented the USA in five Ryder Cup contests and captained his country to victory in the Presidents Cup on three occasions.

Based in Chicago, Bettinardi Golf is one of the fastest-growing equipment brands in golf. It has become famous for its hand-crafted putters made in the USA from a single piece of high quality steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology.

Bettinardi Golf – Launch of an eye-catching new putter range for 2018

January 1, 2018 – Bettinardi Golf, the specialist milled putter manufacturer that has gained market share across Europe, is introducing five new putters for the 2018 season, including a brand new BB Series collection and a innovative iNOVAi 5.0 selection.

The full 2018 range, consisting of 12 premium putters across its four striking series – including the popular Queen B and Studio Stock models – is hand-crafted from a single piece of high-quality milled carbon steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology at the brand’s state-of-the-art factory, just outside Chicago.

“We’re extremely excited with the range for this season, as we have even more innovative technology mixed with the best face-milling technology in the game,” said Sam Bettinardi, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We have increased the Bettinardi Tour presence across the PGA, European and LPGA Tours and used the feedback from many elite players to refine a range that offers a putter to suit every golfer,” he added.

The new BB Series, which has been part of the Bettinardi line-up since its creation in 1999, features a striking new look and innovative technology that encompasses the Bettinardi drive for perfection on every model.

Finished in a durable ‘stealth’ Matte Black colourway, the four new BB models feature the distinctive Bettinardi branding in eye-catching electric yellow, with the same colour used in the exclusive deep-etched Lamkin corded grip.

The new Super-Fly Mill Face milling featured on all BB models offers a responsive feel at impact made for players looking consistent speed and feel.

The classic heel-to-toe weighted BB1 blade had been updated with a soft Carbon Steel head to complement its indented neck that flows into the steel shaft. Its new blade partner is the more offset BB29, which encourages golfers to set the hands further forward at address and throughout the stroke. The indented neck is ridge-milled with the head featuring squared shaped bumpers on both the heel and toe, plus a rounded topline to frame the ball effortlessly at address.

Another newcomer to the range is the BB39 half-moon mallet, made with soft Carbon Steel, that provides higher perimeter weighting for a greater MOI (Moment of Inertia). “Additional MOI means the head is less likely to twist and turn at impact because of its deeper profile and sleek frame,” explained Sam.

The BB39 also includes added material on the flange extending from the topline to the rear, making it easier to line-up with the elongated sight line.

Completing the BB series is the BB56, now in the golf bag of Francesco Molinari, that adds a new element to the putter category by raising the centre of gravity (COG) higher on the putter. The look of the BB56 is different to that of a traditional mallet style and with a higher COG, the ball will promote a quicker end over roll off the putter face and feel more solid at impact. Weighing 350g, the head is made from 6061 Aluminium and 303 Stainless Steel.

All BB Series putters come in 33”- 35”length options. The BB1 and BB29 features 70º lie and 3º loft with a 1/2 toe hang; the BB39 comes in 70º lie, 3º loft and 1/8 toe hang; and the BB56 includes 70º lie, 2º loft and 1/8 toe hang. The BB1 and BB56 are also available in left handed models.

Following on from the successful 3.0 model, the new iNOVAi 5.0 fuses motion science with detailed craftsmanship that connects the 303 Stainless Steel piece in the rear of the putter, to the 6061 Military Grade Aluminium to create a full circle offering more resistance to twisting and turning. The result is a striking putter that is extremely stable throughout the putting stroke.

Featuring the patented F.I.T (Feel Impact Technology) Face that eliminates the need for an insert thanks to the Bettinardi milling process, the high MOI mallet features a soft feel at impact with a topline alignment aid and two lines on the brushed Stainless Steel.

The iNOVAi 5.0 is available right-handed in standard and centre-shafted options with a 70º lie, 2º loft and 1/8 toe hang, along with a black and red deep-etched Lamkin grip corded grip in standard or jumbo size.

Studio Stock Series and Queen B

Continuing into 2018, the Studio Stock Series and Queen B models were big favourites across many categories last year.

Given a seal of approval by multiple PGA Tour winner and brand ambassador Matt Kuchar, the Studio Stock models (SS3, SS8 and SS28) made from Soft Carbon Steel feature a Mercury Grey finish providing a confidence-inspiring look at address. All three models incorporate the brand’s F.I.T Face milling.

The Queen B Series was the UK’s best-seller last year and features the exclusive Bettinardi Micro Honeycomb Face milling, allowing for a muted, yet crisp feel at impact for players looking for constant speed and feel.

Designed to combine performance with stunning looks, the QB8 and QB9 feature swarming bees milled onto the Satin Silver Sole, with the look finished by an eye-catching white and gold Lamkin grip.

Bettinardi Golf – Francesco Molinari signs and will play the brand’s new BB56 putter

December 22, 2017 – Francesco Molinari is looking to boost his chances of making Europe’s Ryder Cup team for a third time by partnering with master putter designer Robert Bettinardi and Bettinardi Golf to play its new BB56 putter next year.

“I’m delighted to have signed with Bettinardi and using what I believe to be the best performing and finest looking putters on Tour,” said Francesco Molinari. “I’ve tested different Bettinardi models in my quest to win on tour in 2018 and make the Ryder Cup team again, and the BB56 sits perfectly for me. I love the technology involved and how passionate the brand is on creating quality putters,” he added.

The 35-year-old Italian, who has former US Ryder Cup captain Dave Stockton as his putting coach, had an impressive Tour season in 2017, playing on both sides of the Atlantic. He finished runner-up in the US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, following another 2nd place at the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. He also finished T6 at The Players Championship and secured a top-five spot at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on the PGA Tour.

Robert Bettinardi, President and CEO of Bettinardi Golf is looking forward to an exciting year with two top ranked world-ranked players. Signing Francesco is fantastic news for the Bettinardi brand and we’re thrilled to have him on board. He’s a very popular and successful player on both European and PGA Tours, and we’ve worked closely with him to enhance his performance on the greens.

“The prospect of having Francesco on Team Europe and Matt Kuchar, who has been a brand ambassador for nearly five years, on Team USA playing Bettinardi putters at the Ryder Cup is something we’re really excited about,” added Robert.

The Bettinardi BB56 is a new model for the 2018 season and seen by the brand as the most intricate and advanced putter in the BB Series line-up.

The body of the putter is milled from 6061 military grade aluminium and features a special topline weight made of 303 Stainless Steel.

By relocating the stainless steel weight directly behind the face and raising the centre of gravity (COG) higher on the putter, the BB56 promotes a quicker end over roll off the putter face and more solid feel at impact.

The new Super-Fly Mill Face milling offers a responsive feel at impact and the vented channel grooves on the sole and flange create an aerodynamic appearance at address, further improving aim characteristics.

Completing the look is a durable ‘stealth’ Matte Black colourway with an Electric Yellow finish and matching deep-etched Lamkin corded grip.

The current Nº21 of the world, Molinari has amassed more than $25 million in prize money following wins at the WGC HSBC Champions in 2010 and two wins at the Italian Open a decade apart in 2006 and 2016. He also won the Open de España in 2012.

Francesco, who turned pro in 2004, has represented Europe twice at the Ryder Cup – winning in both 2010 at Celtic Manor and in 2012 at Medinah. He also won the Omega Mission Hills World Cup for Italy in 2009, playing alongside his brother Edoardo.

The full 2018 Bettinardi range consists of 12 premium putters across its four striking series – including the popular Queen B and Studio Stock models. All of the putters are hand-crafted from a single piece of high-quality milled carbon steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology at the brand’s state-of-the-art factory, just outside Chicago.

Bettinardi Golf – Latest headcover design adds colour to an already striking collection

November 9, 2017 – Bettinardi Golf, the premium putter brand well known for its colourful headcovers, launched its 1,750th customised headcover recently to celebrate Halloween.

The milestone ‘Betti-O-lantern’ glows in the dark and adds even more colour to a striking collection of headcovers that includes many limited editions to match golfing events or special occasions.

“We’ve designed some eye-catching headcovers over our 18 years in the business and this special milestone number happened to fall on Halloween, so we had to commemorate it somehow,” said Sam Bettinardi, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Our designers came up with the great idea of having it glow in the dark to add to the spooky feel,” he added.

The first headcover was launched in 1999 to go with six introductory models – the Bettinardi BB1, BB1MS, BB2SS, BB8, BB10 and BB12. The plain black design was very different to eye-catching models of today, but Bettinardi went straight to the PGA Tour circuit to spread the word and the first stop came at the Greater Greensboro Open.

During that week, Jesper Parnevik picked up a BB10 model on the putting green and went on to set a tournament scoring record of 265 (-23), backed by just 99 putts.

Since then, the designs have been made more colourful and special models have been commissioned for every Major and Ryder Cup. “We enjoy creating them and adding our own take on where the next Major is held,” said Sam. “We have some of the best designers in the business who come up with great concepts that appeal to golfers of all ages.

“Now we have the option of our UPatch custom headcovers that can be created by adding Velcro patches placed anywhere on the specially created fabric,” he added.

The complex designs and attention to detail matches the design process of the putters that are hand-crafted from one piece of high-quality milled carbon steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology at the brand’s state-of-the-art factory just outside Chicago.

Bettinardi Golf – New H2 Wedge with impeccable blend of performance and design

Bettinardi-Wedge-H2-1

March 10, 2015 – Bettinardi Golf, makers of the highest quality precision milled putters in the world, is introducing this 2015 its new product offering into the wedge category, the H2 Wedge.

Since 1998, Robert Bettinardi has sought to produce a perfectly crafted wedge. With the culmination of his experience in engineering, expertise, and quality control, Bettinardi found an impeccable blend of performance and design that suited his most discerning eye.

The new H2 wedge series from Bettinardi combines the finest look and ultimate playability in a forged wedge. “H2 stands for High Helix, which is an aggressive machine tool that cuts the face of each wedge at an extremely rapid rate on a CNC machine,” says Robert Bettinardi, President/CEO of Bettinardi Golf.

“This face milling leaves a unique, USGA-approved milling pattern that provides maximum spin and improved contact”. The milled grooves on the face generate a very distinctive feel, while still producing the proper amount of spin from both wet and dry conditions.

The Bettinardi wedges feature a tour inspired C-Grind sole that allows the leading edge to rest on the ground slightly longer at impact. This particular grind makes open face wedge shots easier to execute, and allows for more forgiveness on mid-range approaches and provides versatility on all wedge shots.

BETTINARDI GOLF NEW PUTTERS

Studio Stock

Bettinardi-Studio-Stock

The new 2015 Studio Stock putters are milled from a soft carbon steel, and feature Bettinardi’s new SuperFly mill face. This tour-inspired face milling promotes a crisper and responsive feel. “We want to give our consumers face milling options when it comes to selecting a putter,” Bettinardi said. “We received great feedback from top talent on the PGA Tour in regards to this SuperFly mill face. We believe this milling style now belongs in the hands of all golfers.”

The Studio Stock 2 showcase a classic BB-8 style head, which has been a choice of many on the PGA Tour. Raised shoulders and flattened bumpers provide great weight displacement for superior balance and stability on this winning blade design.

The Studio Stock 16 is a faced balanced mallet that has been crafted with a custom radius tool to ensure ideal perimeter weighting. This unique tool helps get the ball rolling true, even when not struck directly in the sweet spot. Both Studio Stock models will feature a stunning new, durable Olympic Bronze PVD finish.

Queen B

Bettinardi-Queen-Bee

The new 2015 Queen B line features the latest evolution of Bettinardi’s trademarked micro Honeycomb face milling. The Queen B Model 6 is a wide body, face-balanced blade that sets up impeccably square time after time. The Queen B Model 7 has a ridge milled neck that gently flows into a compact mallet. Unlike most mallets, this putter has a slight toe hang that promotes an inside to inside stroke.

Both Queen B models are complemented by their astounding Savannah Blue PVD finish. “By far, the Savannah Blue PVD finish turned out better than we thought. The soft lavender and blue palette will be the envy of any foursome.”

Signature Series

Bettinardi-Signature

The Signature Series line is directly from Robert Bettinardi’s personal preference in design and performance. “Every year we release two new models on a limited basis that highlight the best that Bettinardi Golf has to offer,” Bettinardi said. “The Signature Model 9 is milled with our tour-inspired SuperFly mill face and this putter will prove itself worthy of any and every bag.”

The Signature Series 10 was created to be the crown jewel of 2015. The blade style look with a two-tiered muscle and high toe produces a deeper face, which allows the ball to match perfectly with the sweet spot. The classic Bettinardi Honeycomb pattern milled into the face, sets this putter apart from all other models. Sculpted out of the finest 303 stainless steel, these putters proudly feature Robert J. Bettinardi’s signature of approval.

Kuchar Model 2

Bettinardi-Kuchar-2

The Kuchar Model 2HM has been modified to feature the half-moon cutout for 2015, and is available in both arm lock and standard models. This truly unique design will gain momentum as the 2016 anchoring ban is quickly approaching. Matt Kuchar and Robert Bettinardi teamed up to design the first centre shafted arm lock putter. This model features the FIT Face technology and has zero offset while still maintaining the optimum seven degrees of loft necessary for an arm lock putter to be effective.

“Matt approached me at the 2014 Masters with a standard length version of this putter in hand, and asked how we could make this without the extreme offset,” said Sam Bettinardi, VP of Sales and Marketing. “Eliminating the extreme offset of the Kuchar Model 2 will allow for a traditional look at address, which will entice more users to try arm lock style putting.”

Inovai

Bettinardi-Inovai

The Inovai is a brand new design for Bettinardi Golf in 2015, and is available in both counterbalance and standard models. Years of research and development within the Bettinardi workshop have culminated in this truly forgiving masterpiece. The putter is milled from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, and includes a milled stainless steel weight strategically placed low and away from the face. “From the look at address, the Inovai is one of the most pleasing MOI mallets on the market,” said Robert Bettinardi.“Once you hit a ball with the Inovai, you will be hard-pressed to pick a different gamer in 2015.”

The FIT (Feel Impact Technology) Face was applied to make this the softest and most responsive feel on an aluminum putter head. The white alignment lines and stainless steel weight create the perfect contrast to the satin black finish. The above features allow for easy alignment, making it truly innovative.
