Mizuno Golf – First fittings with the latest golf clubs of the Japanese brand

September 24, 2014 – The first novelties from Mizuno Golf arrived in Spain only a couple of weeks ago, so when I found out that they’d organized a Fitting Day yesterday in Depique (Barcelona), I couldn’t resist it and went to see them in person.

First of all, I met my Depique friends, who are working tirelessly to offer their customers “the best space dedicated to golf that you can imagine.” The Autumn-Winter season looks very interesting and full of attractive products in the flagship of this golf store chain. We’ll keep you informed…

Then I went to the shop’s range to watch closely as one of the fittings was carried out by Lorenzo Damonte and Jorge Reyes, tech-rep and area sales manager respectively of Intergolf (the new Mizuno Golf distributor in Spain). The new JPX-850 irons, which increase the ball speed, are spectacular. There’s the JPX-850 Forged of 1025 Boron, a material 30% stronger which allow a thinner face to launch the ball with more power. And then the JPX-850 standard with blue cavity for men and pink for ladies, both with a new power frame design that increases the area of rebound and forgiveness, and a sole that accommodates the ideal turf interaction.

Other new arrivals are the MP-15 Ti Muscle Tour irons, which combine the best elements of the MP-59 and MP-64, and the MP-H5 set of irons (1-6 cast and 7-PW forged with KBS Taper Lite shafts), more traditional but with modern technology and distance. And along with the renewed JPX Fli-Hi (3-7), the MP-T5 Forged wedges look like the big stars to me, with all lofts (49º-62º) and a total of 75 different versions: White Satin (25), Black Ion (25) and White Satin LH (25).

Having been to Golf Raimat and Golf Emporda, and yesterday Depique (Barcelona), the Mizuno Golf fittings agenda in September is going today to the RCG El Prat, on Friday 26th to El Valles Golf, and Saturday 27th to CG Terramar in Catalonia (Spain).
