October 25, 2020 – Carlos Sainz Sr and Carlos Sainz Jr are seriously demanding when it comes to the mechanics of their racing cars. Everything has got to be just perfect when they press the throttle to the floor, whether competing in the Rally Dakar or in Formular 1. It’s no surprise, then, that they choose HONMA Golf when it comes to playing a relaxing round of golf.

After last month’s fitting experience with the exclusive golf equipment brand, they received their personalized golf clubs a few days ago. They’ve been custom-fitted for them and are well worthy of the Made in Sakata seal.

The Golf de Club Somosaguas, in La Finca, a luxurious location in Pozuelo de Alarcón, just outside Madrid, was the setting chosen for the delivery of their new equipment. There and then, they unpacked the golf clubs, put them in their bags, and went out to hit their first shots.

Father and son “already played with HONMA equipment, but given their progress in recent seasons, and the brand’s innovations in technology and performance, this is a change that will come in handy for them to continue improving,” says Pablo Casas, Sales Director of HONMA Golf in Spain.

Indeed, during this time they have raised their game, and they’re now delighted to have switched to the new TR20 drivers: the 10.5º loft and VIZARD Stiff 50g shaft for Carlos Sr; and the 9.5º and VIZARD Regular 60g shaft for Carlos Jr.

As for the fairway woods and hybrids, Carlos Sr has opted for the comfort and luxury of the BERES; while Carlos Jr has chosen the innovative TR21, more Tour inspired, which came on the market just a month ago, ready for strong projection next season.

Both race drivers have agreed on the choice of irons, the TR20 P, although with their own corresponding set, shaft and weight configurations. They are both hitting the ball very well, and with this forged steel iron – with a tungsten weighted pocket cavity – they are going to enjoy greater ball speed and forgiveness. A true player’s distance iron for golfers with game improvement playability, like them.

Finally, they match in the wedge model, with the TW-W4, but not in terms of putters and balls. Carlos Sainz Sr has chosen a balanced golden BERES PP-202 semi-mallet and the TW-S ball, with a softer feel; while Carlos Sainz Jr has picked the black TW-PT blade, to play with the TW-X ball, as he has a higher swing speed than his father.
