Honma Golf – First look at the new set of Honma golf clubs of Justin Rose

January 2, 2019 – Although there were rumours in the air at the end of last year, we have no doubt that the news of the Englishman Justin Rose signing by the luxurious Japanese brand Honma Golf has shaken the foundations of the golf industry.

Yesterday Justin Rose himself ended months of speculation by making it official through his social networks, revealing that he was leaving TaylorMade Golf to start being equipped by Honma Golf in the 2019 season.

His fans asked him to show us his new irons, which he has done through Twitter, and then he’s done the same with his wedges, with which he started a training session this morning.

“Hello 2019… I’ve been waiting for you! Excited to move into the new year with Honma equipment! New Year resolutions… 1) play a club that looks exactly how I want! 2) play a club that feels and performs exactly how I want!”, said Justin Rose.

To add more expectation, his caddy Mark ‘Fooch’ Fulcher added that “Honma Golf make the most beautiful golf clubs”, and expressed to be “proud to carry this bag for the ‘boss’ Justin in 2019”, while publishing a picture of his new job companion.

So, the world No. 2 player and current FedEx Cup champion will play from now on with 10 premium Honma Golf clubs in his bag, including the T//World TW747 driver (9,5º); a prototype version of the forged cavity back T//World TW747 V in 4, 5 and 6 irons; a prototype version of the forged muscle back T//World 747 ‘Rose Proto’ in 7, 8 and 9 irons; as well as a custom prototype version of the forged T//World 747 ‘Rose Proto’ wedges with 47º, 56º and 60º lofts.

The T//World TW747 driver, which debuted in Asia at the end of last year, is known to have the “lightest carbon crown” in the world, tungsten in the sole for a low centre of gravity, and the exclusive adjustable hosel system that modifies the loft, the lie and the face angles while maintaining the same position of the spine of the shaft.

Rose will carry a Honma bag and wear a cap with the brand logo on both sides, which now features his sponsor Morgan Stanley logo on the front. With Rose now on the staff, Honma will have an immediate presence on the PGA Tour, something that Mark King, former CEO at TaylorMade, has been working on since being hired by the Japanese manufacturer last August as a strategic advisor, and which could lead to future player signings.

The schedule of Justin Rose, 38, marks the beginning of his season at the Desert Classic in Palm Springs, from 17th to 20th of January.
