TaylorMade Golf – Keita Nakajima claims Maiden DP World Tour title with TP5 golf ball
April 1, 2024 – Team TaylorMade Athlete Keita Nakajima claimed his maiden DP World Tourvictory in style with a wire-to-wire win at the Hero India Open. This is the ninth win globally for Team TaylorMade in the 2024 season so far.
Keita set the pace early with consecutive rounds of seven-under, putting him firmly in the driving seat. This was followed by a four-under round of 68, setting up a four shot lead going into the final round at DLF Golf & Country Club, concluding with a round of 73 to round out a comfortable four-shot victory.
Keita has a combination of P·7MC and P·7MB, choosing the P·7MC for his long irons affording him extra forgiveness, then transitions to the P·7MB for the remainder of his irons ensuring extra control should he end up approaching from fairway or rough.
Combined with four Milled Grind 4 wedges, as he finds the spin tread grooves allow him to target pins from a variety of distances. His bag is rounded out with a TP Reserve B11 putter, which pairs the benefit of the pure roll grooves with the soft feel and crisp sound of a milled head. This all harmonising with the TP5 golf ball, as spin with wedges is something which Keita feels is extremely important in the game which made the golf ball choice easy.
“I’m very happy. Winning here on DP World Tour for the first time is a new feeling all in itself, but right now just very happy,” said Keita Nakajima.
“I felt very comfortable heading into the front nine with an eight stroke lead, but the back nine was playing very tough today and I didn’t have the best finish, but very happy to have gotten it done in the end.”
“There were a number of tough holes on the back and I was frustrated with my play finishing with three consecutive bogies and of course the double bogey, but fortunately I had a few strokes in the bank which I can credit back to my strong play on the front nine and the earlier rounds this week, so overall very proud of my performance.”
“The win definitely gives me a lot of confidence in myself and hoping now to take what I did this week and turn it into even more wins in the future.”
Keita continues to test the Qi10 family for the top end of his bag.
