Galvin Green – Marking 30 years of GORE-TEX with record waterproofs offering

October 28, 2022 – Leading high-performance golf apparel brand Galvin Green is marking three decades of innovation using GORE-TEX fabric across its extensive range of 100% waterproof garments by providing golfers of all ages and sizes with a record choice of 54 protective jackets and matching pants this Fall.

The latest Galvin Green collection of GORE-TEX outerwear includes 32 jackets and pant options for men and 16 for women golfers, plus another six for junior players. They come in up to 11 different colour choices or combinations, as well as multiple sizes for the perfect fit.

“Our long-standing working relationship with the amazing GORE-TEX fabric has protected so many golfers across the world over the past 30 years and we’ve sold almost 1.3 million GORE-TEX garments during that time,” said Nicholai Stein, CEO of Galvin Green.

“Decades of producing waterproofs with unrivalled durability and performance benefits in the wettest playing conditions under Gore’s ‘Guaranteed to keep you dry’ proposition means that today’s outerwear range is backed by the best-performing waterproof membrane on the market and the most functional styles,” he added.

The first Galvin Green rain jacket made from the durable and highly breathable GORE-TEX material was launched in 1992, just two years after the company was founded. It coincided with the brand becoming the first in the golf waterproofs market to offer bright colour options, such as Red and light Blue. Such was the popularity of the non-traditional Black or Navy versions, that Galvin soon introduced Yellow, Orange and White jackets to boost its standout credentials as a brand offering fashionable style along with reliable functionality.

Six years later in 1998, Galvin Green became the first brand to introduce half-zipped jackets, followed in 2003 by ultra-lightweight Paclite streamlined jackets without pockets – both GORE-TEX garments remaining popular among serious golfers.

The first GORE-TEX stretch jackets and pants from Galvin Green were launched in 2007 and as the material became more flexible for the golf swing the brand incorporated stretch inserts in the shoulders and arms in 2008 and pioneered 4-way stretch fabric in 2011.

Almost a decade ago in 2013, the first Galvin Green GORE-TEX jackets and pants using Bluesign approved eco-friendly fabric were added to the range. Galvin then supplied award-winning rainwear to Europe’s Ryder Cup teams, including the winners at Gleneagles in 2014 and Paris in 2018.

A year later, the inverted GORE-TEX fabric SHAKEDRY jacket weighing just six ounces was launched, followed more recently by the fully featured ACTION jacket with smooth GORE-TEX ‘slide & glide’ C-KNIT backer technology and Superstretch inserts for exceptional freedom of movement, as well as consistently reliable protection from the elements.

Galvin Green GORE-TEX rainwear is available from more than 70% of the Top 30 golf courses around the world, including Bandon Dunes, Pebble Beach and Cabot Cliffs in Canada.

Headlining the latest GORE-TEX outerwear garments from Galvin Green are the sporty ALBERT men’s jacket incorporating a lightweight mesh lining and matched with ANDY pants, plus the AILA jacket for women in the new Navy/Green colourway and coordinated with ANNA pants.

Among the standout features across these contemporary waterproof garments are adjustable chest and leg widths in the jackets and pants; mesh and fleece lining for added warmth; repositioned side seams for optimal comfort; front pockets with brushed lining, back pockets with Velcro closure, water repellent zips, adjustable elasticated waists, plus, adjustable cuffs and shaped sleeves for easy movement in the swing.

Galvin Green – The new Limited Edition TRUE BLUE Collection, unveiled

November 11, 2021 – To brighten up the golfing wardrobe and any golf trip abroad, leading apparel brand Galvin Green has introduced a new premium TRUE BLUE capsule collection of garments in fresh colourways inspired by the bright sky that golfers long to play under.

Ideal for those looking to embark on a golfing trip to warmer destinations this winter, the latest collection from the innovative Swedish brand features fashionable shirts, shorts and sweatshirts in the increasingly popular Blue Bell colour, along with other shades of blue and white in a variety of designs and patterns.

Encouraged by the reaction to its LINKS collection earlier this year, Galvin Green has added three striking new shirt designs, together with two super-soft shorts in highly breathable VENTIL8 PLUS fabric, backed by hoodies in two fresh colours and distinctive branding on the chest. Three other sought-after shirt styles from the current Part Two range complete the collection with fresh colour options.

“Our eyes seamlessly absorb the colour blue, as it plays such an important role in our everyday lives and especially when playing golf,” said Designer Batur Raza Muhammad.

“My inspiration for this collection came from the numerous shades of blue in the sky that often greet golfers on a good weather day. With blue being such a prominent theme throughout the collection, we added clear points of difference to the garments through the use of different patterns that embody our pixelated design themes and even the effects of layered clouds moving in the sky,” he added.

The brand new floral print MALIK short-sleeved shirt in Blue Bell/White offers an individual appearance for those seeking a more daring appearance out on the golf course. Based on the design theme of a cobbled street, the MACK polo shirt reflects the lightest shade of blue in the range for an eye-catching appearance, while the fully printed MATHEW shirt comes in a bold dark and lighter blue stripe pattern.

Completing the TRUE BLUE shirt collection are the super stylish MADDOX and MONTY polos with contrasting collars in Blue Bell, Navy & White options, plus the MARCO model featuring a very subtle dotted pattern.

All the shirts in the collection provide excellent moisture-transportation properties and breathability to keep the body dry and cool, while offering UV 20+ protection in warm temperatures. Easy to maintain, the shirts also dry quickly and without the need to iron.

Matching PAUL shorts in Blue Bell and White options feature a shirt gripper waistband and built-in stretch function for comfort and a perfect fit. They also offer two handy front and back pockets to carry belongings and scorecards.

New DUANE hoodies in Blue Bell and White – made using INSULA fabric from recycled PET – are designed to appeal to golfers aged between 25-34, who now represent the fastest growing demographic for the brand. These fashionable hoodies provide added thermal regulation warmth for cooler temperatures arising both on and off the course.

“Blue Bell has become such a popular colour with our regular customers and the work put into these new designs has raised the standard for golfing outfits to an even higher level,” said Conor Petters, Marketing Manager in the UK & Ireland.

We’re confident that the TRUE BLUE collection will prove to be another sell out among serious golfers looking to match high performance clothing with ultra-modern designs,” he added.
