ECCO Golf – Joining forces with Erik van Rooyen in fresh new BIOM H4 collaboration

August 2, 2023 – Global golf footwear innovators, ECCO Golf, are once again paying homage to the individual style and flair of brand ambassador, Erik van Rooyen, with the introduction of a new signature edition BIOM H4 offering. BIOM H4 continues to feature the BIOM 2.0 last which offers a modern, updated look and feel combined with BIOM NATURAL MOTION Technology that enables the foot to move naturally, close to the ground, and forms like a second skin around the foot.

ECCO Golf – Imperious Lydia Ko wins second Saudi Ladies International title with the ECCO BIOM G5

February 20, 2023 – ECCO Golf ambassador, Lydia Ko, delivered a trademark weekend performance in Saudi Arabia, as she secured her second Saudi Ladies International title at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.

Ko, who was returning to tournament golf for the first time this season, continued the form that saw her return to World Number 1 at the end of 2022, carding four rounds in the 60s that included an opening round 64.

Wearing her own signature edition ECCO BIOM G5, Ko once again showed why she is the world’s best player as she calmly produced a final round four-under-par 68 to triumph by one shot.

“I’ve been trying to enjoy being out on the golf course and playing with the world’s best, the field this week was really good, so I knew it was going to be a challenge,” commented Lydia Ko.

“The first tournament of the year is really hard, because you don’t have anything to base yourself off, you don’t know if you’re going to play well or bad, but the start this week really helped – I stayed really patient and I was not as nervous as I thought I would be!”, she added.

ECCO Golf – Esther Henseleit and Freddy Schott sign with ECCO Golf ahead of 2023 season

January 18, 2023 – ECCO Golf, the world’s leading golf shoe manufacturer, has announced the signing of German golfers Esther Henseleit (24) and Freddy Schott (21) as brand ambassadors. Both Schott and Henseleit will be sporting shoes from ECCO Golf’s innovative new Spring-Summer 2023 collection when they begin their 2023 seasons.

For three-time Tour winner Henseleit, her 2023 season starts with a bang. On February 2nd she will be teeing up at the LET’s Magical Kenya Ladies Open, a tournament she has won twice and where she is the defending champion. During her title defence, Henseleit will benefit from the innovative and unrivalled 360-degree breathability of ECCO products. “I can’t wait to get started in 2023. Freddy “The Shot” Schott is a rising star in the German golf game. In 2021, at the age of just 19, he turned professional, fought his way onto the Challenge Tour and subsequently enjoyed a successful first season on the tour in 2022.

During that season, he had a series of fine results, culminating in his first professional win at the Frederikshavn Challenge in Denmark. Schott finished the season in 9th place on the Challenge Tour, securing his DP World Tour card at the age of just 21. “Having the opportunity to take the next step in my career with such a strong global partner like ECCO GOLF by my side makes me very proud. I can’t wait to get started with the partnership this season,” said Schott.

ECCO Golf – Ambassador Lydia Ko wins LPGA Tour finales to secure Race to CME Globe title

November 22, 2022 – Wearing her signature ECCO BIOM G5 shoes, ECCO Golf ambassador Lydia Ko secured her 19th career victory on Sunday at the LPGA Tour’s final event of the season, the CME Group Tour Championship 2022.

Ko has enjoyed a special year in 2022, securing multiple victories in a season for the first time in six years. Going into this week, Ko was sitting pretty at the top of both the Race to CME Globe rankings and the LPGA’s coveted Rolex Player of the Year award, knowing that a strong finish to the season could secure several accolades.

This week, Ko, who has been competing in ECCO Golf shoes since 2017, delivered a clinical performance at Tiburon Golf Club, Florida, finishing on 17-under-par to triumph by two clear shots.

Ko’s victory this week means that the ECCO Golf ambassador not only takes home the LPGA’s biggest-ever winner’s cheque, but also secures the Race to the CME Globe, the Rolex Player of the Year award, the LPGA money list title, and the Vare Trophy, awarded to the player with the lowest average score across the entire season.

“There was a lot of things on the line today,” Lydia Ko said. “This has been one of the most consistent and solid years that I’ve had. I wanted to play the best golf I could today and there was so many big names chasing. I knew it would be a tough battle, especially with how tough the conditions were.”

To add the icing on the cake this week, Ko won her second title in less than a month in her very own Lydia Ko ECCO BIOM G5 shoes. The shoes, which were unveiled earlier on in 2022, are styled with Silver Ferns and Hibiscus flowers, to represent her home country, New Zealand, and her country of birth, South Korea, respectively.

ECCO Golf – Lydia Ko wins BMW Ladies Championship wearing Signature Edition BIOM G5 golf shoes

October 23, 2022 – ECCO Golf ambassador, Lydia Ko, delivered an emphatic final round on Sunday at the Oak Valley Country Club, to claim a four-shot victory at the BMW Ladies Championship 2022.

Ko, who has enjoyed a rich vein of form since returning to the winner’s circle on the LPGA Tour in 2021, fired a blistering seven-under-par 65 to finish 21-under-par for the tournament.

Ko’s 18th career title was especially poignant, as it was her first victory in her country of birth, South Korea, and just a couple of hours away from where she was born.

This week, Ko triumphed wearing her signature edition ECCO BIOM G5; a special edition of the brand-new model that are styled with Silver Ferns and Hibiscus flowers, to represent her home country, New Zealand, and her country of birth, South Korea, respectively.

“I think it means a lot to win in Korea. It’s a place that I’m born and it makes it very special,” commented Lydia Ko.

“I said more than ever I really want to win in Korea once before my career is done and to be able to do it, a few of my relatives are here and this is the first year since Covid that we’ve had fans, it means a lot. A win is special in its own way. This is one to cherish,” she added.

ECCO Golf – Lydia Ko pays homage to heritage with custom-designed ECCO BIOM G5

August 18, 2022 – ECCO Golf ambassador, Lydia Ko, has combined her South Korean and Kiwi heritage with a custom version of the brand-new ECCO BIOM G5 shoe as part of the brand’s Autumn-Winter 2022 collection. Ko has helped to create a sleek, stylish version of the BIOM G5 that reflects both her personality and her dual-nationality roots.

Ko has designed her ECCO BIOM G5 with hibiscus flowers styled onto one side of the shoe, and silver ferns on the other, paying homage to her country of birth, South Korea, and the country in which she grew up, New Zealand, respectively.
