Holiday Golf – Inauguration of the largest and most modern golf showroom in Southern Europe
May 30, 2016 – Holiday Golf, leading distributor of golf equipment in Spain and Portugal, inaugurated Southern Europe’s largest and most modern specialist showroom with a social event organized last week at its headquarters in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella (Malaga, Spain).
The inauguration is the result of a major investment of some €500,000 which has allowed Holiday Golf to begin a new phase of growth in the year that the company celebrates its 25th Anniversary. The acquisition of the adjoining building to its warehouse has meant that the space of its facilities has doubled to about 1,500 m2, while extending the offices on the first floor to 300m2 and the spectacular showroom to 220m2, next to a business meeting room of 100 m2.
Two days were dedicated to the inauguration, the 25th and 26th of May, during which the CEO, Stefan Tjellander, hosted the visitors around the new facilities of Holiday Golf. The first day, more focused on business representatives, golfers and friends, enjoyed the presence of the New Zealander Michael Campbell, 2005 US Open champion, who cut the ribbon. The second day received visits by representatives of clubs and golf shops, and was attended by Javier Porcuna, Deputy Mayor and Tourism Delegate of the Marbella City Council.
Amongst the visitors were the Managers of many golf courses such as RCG Sotogrande, Golf Torrequebrada, Río Real Golf, Los Naranjos Golf, Finca Cortesín, Baviera Golf, El Chaparral Golf, Alahurin Golf, El Paraíso Golf, Los Arqueros Golf, Villa Padierna Golf, Mijas Golf or La Laguna Golf golf shop.
“We’ve grown a lot in recent years and we’ve bought the neighbouring building so that we can continue growing, but with facilities appropriate to our needs,” says Stefan Tjellander, whose company already distributes golf equipment beyond Spain and Portugal, to Italy, Morocco, Greece, Turkey and even the Nordic countries.

The spectacular new Holiday Golf showroom is now the hub of the entire company’s business. “As we have a professional designer of commercial interiors, Pedro Miguel Caballero, who carries out projects to improve the shops, he’s the one who’s made this showroom his personal project to provide a pleasant and agreeable space, but more complete than a shop and with a different purpose.” says Stefan Tjellander.
“This is not organised as a shop but rather as a wholesale showroom where we can attend to our clients, who are the shops and companies, we can receive the manufacturers of the brands we distribute, and we can set up the operational base for our sales team.”
In the new showroom at Marbella, each of the brands distributed by Holiday Golf has their own corner: AHEAD, Annika, Bettinardi Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Callaway Apparel, Champ, Cutter & Buck, Daily Sports, ECCO, FastFold, Garmin, Glenmuir, Golf Feeding, Golfino, K.Bell, Lorente, New Wave, Oakley, Ofelia T, Ogio, OMT, Peter Millar, Skymax, Skin Extreme, Spalding, Sunderland, Sunread, Super Stroke, TomTom, Vitamin Well, etc. In addition, the company already has complementary showrooms in Madrid, and recently in Barcelona and Lisbon.
The renovation of the facilities has been carried out maintaining the usual high service standards. And the next big change for Holiday Golf will be its computer system renewal, which will bring the service to the highest level, through the new Director of Operations, David Barnes.
“David has directed a software company for many years, developing pioneering applications for large enterprises. With the support of computer experts from India, we are defining a new ERP and we are creating a very powerful B2B tool, which will make work with our clients easier and help us to be better organized inside…”, explains Stefan Tjellander.
There is a strong feeling in the air that the entire staff of Holiday Golf is really motivated and committed to the new project. This is a staff of 30 people, with the latest addition of an experienced new warehouse manager.
Another novelty that has not gone by unnoticed on our visit to this impressive showroom, is the expansion of the business line of artisanal personalized leather products. This is an own brand, crafted by hand in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), which began with the collection of Ofelia T accessories and complements for women, and now has diversified with Oliver T, the menswear collection, and O&T, the corporate collection. So far, 50 new products have been designed and, with a new sales manager, there are plans to extend its export from the current 15 countries to 30 in a first stage, and then to 50.
The previous showroom had become too small, and now with so much space the company can host multiple simultaneous meetings. “We currently have about 1,500 clients, including golf shops and companies; and every year we open around 200 more accounts and grow between 20% and 30% in turnover,” explains the CEO of the company.
“Now the new facilities and software upgrade will help us to continue growing, possibly even doubling what we could do before; of course, we’ll be working as much as before, but without worrying about the space,” concludes Stefan Tjellander.
There is no doubt that a new era has begun for Holiday Golf, looking to the future with renewed energy, big projects and great enthusiasm, that will certainly help to improve the professionalism of the golf industry in Spain and Europe.
