December 9, 2024 – Many thought Scottie Scheffler‘s victory at the TOUR Championship was a fitting way to cap off what’s been a historic season for the World No. 1. But, he had an encore performance with his six-shot win at the 2024 Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods‘ event, behind a Sunday 63.

After a birdie at the opening hole, Scheffler made birdie at the fourth and drained a 49-foot birdie putt at the fifth to grab a two-shot lead. After a birdie on the ninth, Scheffler poured in a 20-footer on the 10th followed by birdies on 13 and 14 to get to 23-under.

With a two-shot swing on the line at the 16th hole, he effectively sealed the deal with an exceptional up-and-down from 211-yards out making the 10-foot putt. On the 72nd hole, for good measure, Scheffler threw a dart to 3-feet and made the putt to finish at 25-under (67-64-69-63).

The win marks Scheffler’s ninth worldwide in 2024 and back-to-back at the Hero World Challenge. He is the third player in the history of the event to win back-to-back titles.

Scheffler won his first event of 2024 at Bay Hill after switching to Spider Tour X and tallied his ninth with the putter Sunday at Albany.

This week, Scheffler made nine putts from 10 feet and four from 15 feet. In the final round, the American was No.1 in Total Strokes Gained (16,750), Strokes Gained on Approach to Green (6,777), as well as No. 3 in Strokes Gained Off the Tee (4,801) and Strokes Gained for Putting (3,845).

He was also No. 1 in the Greens in Regulation (80.56%) and Scrambling (85.71%) statistics, as well as No. 3 in Driving Accuracy (80.77%) and No. 5 in Putts per GIR (1.60).
