TaylorMade Golf has produced this educational video to explain why its breakthrough innovation is allowing golfers of all skills to ‘Loft Up+’ and see incredible distance gains.

February 10, 2014 – When TaylorMade Golf developed the SLDR, its easiest-to-adjust driver ever, it never imagined that it would be changing the rules of distance. While the tendency in the golf industry still goes for the drivers with a lower and back centre of gravity, the company is offering a new formula:

Low forward centre of gravity + Higher loft = crazy distance

Maximum yardage comes from combining high launch, low spin and fast ball speed. SLDR’s low-and-forward CG promotes fast ball speed and low spin. In other words, to add high launch, you are now able to increase your loft.

Tour pros are now ‘lofting up’, the slogan of the last TaylorMade Golf campaign, to hit the ball farther. But not only its worldwide stars such Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Justin Rose or Stephen Gallacher, also Spanish players like Sergio García, Eduardo de la Riva, Jorge Campillo or Adrián Otaegui are amongst the players, as you can see in the table, who have lofted up, from 0,5 to 4 degrees in cases like Paul McGinley, even up to 12 degrees.

Loft up for more distance is a monumental shift in metalwood thinking. For decades it has been accepted that a low and back centre is best. Now, in order to get the most distance from SLDR driver you have to change the way you think about loft. Although you might find it strange at first, you will begin to send the ball further than your previous distances.
