Titleist – New Scotty Cameron Studio Xperimental Limited putters, with two Tour prototype-inspired designs

October 31, 2025 – Scotty Cameron introduced the 2025 Studio Xperimental Limited line, an exclusive release that gives dedicated golfers the opportunity to game two tour prototype-inspired designs.

Complete with a Steel Grey PVD finish, the Studio Xperimental Limited Squareback 2 and Fastback 2 models combine Scotty’s renowned craftsmanship with innovative design elements, including black nickel-plated Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) face inserts and unique sight line configurations. The compact mallets also feature a custom Full Contact Slim grip and a custom-engineered graphite shaft to round out the setup.

“Studio Xperimental is all about sharing with players something special: prototype- inspired setups crafted for those who demand performance and technology with a clean, tour-proven look. With the line’s multi-material design, chain-link face milling, unique alignment features and custom grip and shaft, every element of Studio Xperimental is designed to inspire confidence – from setup to stroke,” said Scotty Cameron, Founder and Master craftsman.

“With Studio Xperimental Limited, the combination of our SCS face inserts with chain-link face milling really delivers exceptional feel, roll performance and feedback off the putter face. For this release, we also focused on optimising the putters’ balance with custom graphite shafts that are stiffer and slightly counterbalanced to give players added stability through the stroke,” said Austie Rollinson, Senior Director of Putter R&D of the company.

While differentiated by head shape, the Studio Xperimental Limited Squareback 2 and Fastback 2 putters are both multi-material constructions, featuring a 303 stainless steel body and a 6061 aluminium sole component.

The models share the same I-beam plumbing neck, black nickel-plated SCS face insert with chain-link face milling and parallel sight lines, which highlight the sweet spot and frame the golf ball. The putters also feature a Steel Grey PVD finish, cherry red translucent dots and Scotty’s 3 Point Crown.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO XPERIMENTAL LIMITED SQUAREBACK 2

The Studio Xperimental Limited Squareback 2 offers a mid-mallet setup that delivers a squarer, more angular look at address for players who like to set up to sharper lines. The model features an I-beam plumbing neck for moderate toe flow, and its higher-MOI, multi-material construction gives players exceptional stability through the stroke.

Also available as a left-handed model, the Studio Xperimental Limited Fastback 2 debuts the combination of Scotty’s I-beam plumbing neck with the popular ring- weighted, rounded mid-mallet shape of the Studio Style Fastback. Like the Squareback 2 model, the Studio Xperimental Limited Fastback 2 features enhanced two-tone alignment and higher MOI properties.

Titleist – New Scotty Cameron 2024 Phantom putters with next generation mallets fully redesigned

February 26, 2024 – Scotty Cameron introduces his 2024 lineup of Phantom mallets, 10 new models completely redesigned to meet the demands of the modern game through alignment-infused had shapes with improved sound and feel.

The new Phantom family, offering four unique shapes with multiple neck and shaft configurations, is the result of feedback from Phantom players across the worldwide professional tours, melded with the continued advancement of Scotty’s multi-material construction and face milling technologies:

  • Fast-looking head shapes have been engineered to optimize alignment and targeting, helping players easily and correctly line up the putter at address.
  • Multi-material face and body constructions, with premium milled-in-USA craftsmanship, are more rigid for increased stability and feedback.
  • Scotty’s tour-proven dual-milled face technology is brought to the Phantom line to provide a softer, consistent sound and feel.
  • A new custom-designed, full contact paddle-style grip is uniquely shaped for increased contact and comfort, while promoting more face angle awareness.

2024 PHANTOM MODEL OVERVIEW

The complete Scotty Cameron Phantom line includes 10 mallet models with four unique head shapes, redesigned to enhance alignment, balance center of gravity (CG) depth and optimize moment of inertia (MOI). The new models offer golfers options in 33”, 34”, 35” and 38” lengths along with multiple neck/shaft configurations (low-bend, mid-bend, straight shaft or jet neck) for ultimate player flexibility. Each putter features improved multi-material construction, dual-milled face technology and refined aesthetics.

Designed with an updated, slightly more compact shape with refined wing angles to enhance alignment, the near-face balanced Phantom 5 stays true to its tour-proven design and features a mid-bend shaft, new sight dos alignment and a blade-like feel.

The new Phantom 5.5 model features the same updated head shape of the 5 along with a jet neck for players that prefer the alignment features of a mallet with the toe-flow of a blade.

PHANTOM 5S

Nearly-face balanced with a straight shaft and zero offset, the Phantom 5s offers the same compact mallet shape as its model-mates with an unobstructed view of the leading edge of the face from address.

With updated contours, slightly longer wings, new sight dot alignment and a subtle shape shift for a straighter outside wing angle, the tour-proven Phantom 7 puts an emphasis on alignment, stability and MOI and features a mid-bend shaft.

Sharing the head shape and design of the 7, the Phantom 7.5 incorporates a jet neck to promote a flowing stroke in a stable, high-MOI mallet (available in left-handed version).

PHANTOM 9

The Phantom 9 features a mid-bend shaft and a completely re-designed shape thar offers long sight lines for improved alignment along with an angular, “ring-weighted” profile to deliver forgiveness and feel with high MOI.

The 9.5 model matches the 9 with its shaping and alignment cues but like the 5.5 and 7.5 models, features a toe-flow promoting jet neck.

A complete re-design from the sole up, the face balanced, multi-material Phantom 11 is a high-MOI mallet with a stable, mid-bend shaft and new arrow alignment features.

With a low-bend shaft for moderate toe-flow, the Phantom 11.5 was designed for the player seeking the alignment features and MOI properties of the 11 with a shaft design that helps the putter swing on a slight arc (available in a left-handed version).

PHANTOM 11 LONG DESIGN – 38”

Designed in the Phantom 11 head shape, the Phantom 11 Long Design is a 38-inch counterbalanced model with a longer, heavier 17-inc, 128-gram pistol style grip and a custom-designed stiffer mid-bend shaft to accommodate the overall heavier head, which includes two 25-gram tungsten sole weights. The design features help the player to quiet the hands for a more stable, balanced stroke.

PHANTOM TECHNOLOGY 

Alignment-infused designs: Based on tour players input, Scotty designed new 2024 Phantom putter shapes with alignment system to help players easily and correctly align the putter at address. In addition to a refined, alignment-promoting overall shape, each model features alignment cues that range from elegantly milled sight dots on the 5 and 7 models, to mechanically straight sight lines on the 9 models, to arrow-shaped lines on the 11 models, helping to give the player a clear pre-putt look towards the hole.

Re-enegineered multi-material construction: Each 2024 Phantom model’s putter face and body is crafted from 303 stainless steel and integrated with lightweight 6061 aircraft aluminum flange and sole plate components. These multi-material designs have been more rigid, giving players added stability and more solid feel while complementing the models’ new optimized vibration damping technology.

Dual-milled face technology: Every 303 stainless steel face on new Phantom putters features Scotty’s dual-milled face technology, which originated in tour and was first introduced to golfers in 2023’s Super Select line. The dual-milling process provides better sound and feel while combining deep-milled softness with the feedback and consistency of md-milled offerings. 2024 Phantom putter faces each undergo an initial deep mill, before a second pass levels the milling peaks to produce a flatter, more consistent surface. The result is a tour-inspired look and feel along with the line’s most consistent face to date.

CUSTOM-DESIGNED FULL CONTACT GRIP

Every model features a new full contact paddle-style grip, reminiscent of Scotty’s classic Baby T design with modern updates. Custom-designed for the new Phantom line, the grip is uniquely shaped for more contact and comfort as well as improved face angles awareness through its flat top surface. In addition, the “chain link” texture delivers a reliable grip in all conditions.

FINISH AND GRAPHICS

The new Phantom stainless steel putter heads all undergo Scotty’s silver mist process for a radiant yet glare-resistant appearance and texture. The 6061 aircraft grade aluminum components have been misted and anodized in a black aluminum finish. Scotty’s familiar three-dot theme on the back pockets and sight dots of the Phantom 5 and 7 putter head are accented with translucent smoke paintfill, while engravings and sight lines on all models are painted in shades of asphalt, dove gray and dark gray. Each Phantom mallet includes a shaft band a headcover accented in yellow.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICE

The Phantom 5, 5.5, 5s, 7, 7.5, 9 and 9.5 models will be available worldwide in Titleist authorized golf shops beginning Match 29, 2024. The Phantom 7.5 will be made in left-handed version. The Phantom 11, 11.5 and new Phantom 11 Long Design will join the line and arrive in golf shops on May 17, 2024, and the Phantom 11.5 will also be offered as a left-handed option. RRP: 499€.

Titleist – New Scotty Cameron Super Select putters, with new face milling technology and ‘Plus’ shapes for 2023

February 20, 2023 – For the latest evolution of the world’s finest milled putters, Scotty Cameron builds upon the tour-proven success of 2020’s Special Select line and introduces 10 new Super Select models in 2023, which will be launched in two worldwide releases.

Scotty has pushed his blade and mid-mallet designs even further with better performance, new milling techniques, refined shapes, improved multi-material construction and cutting-edge weight distribution to deliver a Select line superior to any before it. The result – Super Select.

Six of the new models – Super Select Newport, Newport Plus, Newport 2, Newport 2 Plus, Newport 2.5 Plus and Squareback 2 – will be available at Titleist authorized golf shops worldwide beginning March 17, 2023. The Newport 2 and Newport 2.5 Plus models will also be offered in left-handed configurations.

Four additional models will be released on May 19, 2023 and include the Super Select Fastback 1.5, Del Mar and the new GOLO 6 and GOLO 6.5 models. The Del Mar and GOLO 6.5 models will be offered in left-handed options, as well.

“With the new Super Select putters, the name just fits. I’ve been creating putters for a long time, and after each line rolls out and gets played, new ideas emerge. There’s always a better way”, says Scotty Cameron.

“I try to make all the refinements I can to bring more performance to players, to give them more confidence and, in the end, hopefully more success. Key to the 2023 Super Select family are the new ‘Plus’ models, which I introduced on Tour last year, then crafted into a few limited release models to really showcase this new higher-MOI blade design. Based on feedback from the game’s best players—and with design refinement at his San Diego County Putter Studio—Scotty Cameron has created new blade and mid-mallet models, refined milling methods, revamped neck styles, developed better multi-material construction and engineered weight distribution for the 2023 Super Select family of putters.

INNOVATIVE ‘PLUS’ DESIGNS: Offering putters that deliver mallet-like forgiveness and stability in slim, blade-like shapes, Scotty Cameron designed the Super Select Newport Plus, Newport 2 Plus and Newport 2.5 Plus models with innovative, slightly wider profiles than traditional blade dimensions.

The Plus models are sized in between a traditional blade width and wider-flanged models like the Squareback 2 mid-mallet. Leveraging the multi- material construction of combining precision milled 303 stainless steel heads and 6061 aircraft aluminum sole plates, weight from the center of the putter head has been repositioned around the perimeter to increase stability. This new design gives players a familiar, blade-like view from address and increases MOI for a confidence-inspiring setup.

NEW ‘DUAL-MILLED’ FACE TECHNOLOGY: The Super Select line introduces a new dual-milled face milling technology that takes sound, feel and feedback to a new level, combining the softness revered in previously released deep-milled putters with the feedback, consistency and roll of Scotty’s more recent mid-milled offerings.

After a deep-milled pass of the mill across the putter face, a second pass of the mill levels the peaks of the face milling, producing a flatter, more consistent surface for the ball to contact the putter face. Brought over from Scotty Cameron’s tour prototypes, this new face technology brings a tour-inspired look and feel to the Super Select line, along with the line’s most consistent face to date.

NEW ‘I-BEAM’ NECK DESIGN: Apart from the Super Select Del Mar and GOLO 6 models, each Super Select putter features a new “I-beam” neck design that Scotty adapted from putters he’s made for tour professionals. The new, precision sculpted neck designs give each model a racier, industrial look, but also allow for the removal and targeted repositioning of weight from the neck to the heel and toe of the putter head.

This, coupled with a strategically placed notch on the models with a plumbing neck – positioned for precise lie adjustment – and Scotty’s larger signature milled dots in the pocket, allowed additional weight to be precisely redistributed to the toe and heel areas where it will most benefit players.

PERFORMANCE WEIGHTING: Each new Super Select putter incorporates performance weighting technology featuring customizable sole weights precision milled in the United States from either 303 stainless steel or heavier tungsten for the Newport and Newport 2 models.

Used in conjunction with purpose-built aluminum sole plates on all Plus, mid-mallet and GOLO models, Scotty’s performance weighting concept allows for optimal weight distribution and higher MOI so each putter can achieve ideal balance and proper performance at every length.

2023 SUPER SELECT MODELS

The new Super Select models offer golfers multiple options in 33”, 34” and 35” lengths, each with a specific neck/shaft configuration (either flow, jet, plumbing or shaft-over spud) and the proper sole weight designation for ultimate player flexibility, sizing and preference.

Super Select Newport: Precision milled from 303 stainless steel, this blade includes a new I-beam plumbing neck, the Newport’s distinctive rounded features and a dual-milled face texture. With adjustable performance sole weights milled from raw tungsten, this putter has a solid face and a misted stainless steel finish.

Super Select Newport Plus: Crafted slightly wider than a standard blade, this rounded solid stainless steel model presents a new size in high-performance putter design that integrates proven multi- material methodology with a 6061 aluminum sole plate, solid 303 stainless steel face and stainless steel sole weights.

Super Select Newport 2: The line’s flagship model with its crisp, mechanical shape is milled from 303 stainless steel with a solid face, customizable tungsten sole weights, a tri-sole design, the tour-inspired, new I-beam plumbing neck and dual-milled face technology. A left-handed model is also available.

Super Select Newport 2 Plus: With a slightly wider flange than the Newport 2, the Newport 2 Plus incorporates a 6061 aircraft grade aluminum sole plate with a precision milled solid stainless steel face and customizable stainless steel sole weights for a new shape with increased MOI.

Super Select Newport 2.5 Plus: With its MOI-enhancing wider face-to-flange shape, the Super Select Newport 2.5 Plus incorporates dual-milled face technology, a new sculpted I-beam-style jet neck and a solid milled stainless steel face with a 6061 aircraft grade aluminum sole plate and customizable stainless steel sole weights. A left-handed model is also available.

Super Select Squareback 2: The Super Select Squareback 2 is a wider-bodied, angular mid-mallet with higher MOI, a solid milled putter face and an integrated 6061 aluminum sole plate with stainless steel sole weights, a refined I-beam plumbing neck and dual-milled face technology.

Four Additional Models (in Shops May 19, 2023)

Super Select Del Mar: The new Super Select Del Mar is a heel-shafted compact mallet with a flow neck precision milled from solid 303 stainless steel that includes dual-milled face technology and customizable stainless steel sole weights. It is also available in a left-handed configuration.

Super Select Fastback 1.5: With a new precision sculpted I-beam jet neck—as well as the line’s new dual-milled face technology—the Super Select Fastback 1.5 is a mid-mallet with a solid milled putter face integrated with an engineered 6061 aluminum sole plate and stainless steel sole weights.

Super Select GOLO 6: The GOLO returns in a new size as the Super Select GOLO 6, a rounded compact mallet precision milled from 303 stainless steel sized in between the previous GOLO 5 and 7 models. With a mid-bend shaft and an integrated sole plate machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum, the GOLO 6 includes the line’s new dual-milled face technology and stainless steel sole weights.

Super Select GOLO 6.5: The Super Select GOLO 6.5 has a small I-beam jet neck and is precision milled from 303 stainless steel with a solid face and an integrated 6061 aircraft aluminum sole plate. It includes the line’s dual-milled face technology and adjustable performance weighting with stainless steel sole weights. A left-handed Super Select GOLO 6.5 is also available.

SUPER SELECT WEIGHTING & SHAFTS: Each new Super Select putter features performance weighting with two customizable heel-toe weights (tungsten or stainless steel based on model) and stepless steel shafts.

NEW GRIPS: Each Super Select model has a specific grip, designed to not only provide each putter’s proper swing weight and balance, but also to offer the right in-hand feel. The Newport, Newport 2, and new Plus models come equipped with a textured Pistolini Plus grip, a smaller design with a thicker, more substantial feel through the lower part of the grip. This grip is paired with the blade-style putters, while a new, textured Pistolero Plus grip has been paired with the mid-mallets and Del Mar.

The Squareback 2, Fastback 1.5, Del Mar, GOLO 6 and GOLO 6.5 each come with a Pistolero Plus grip that carries through the line’s color scheme. When comparing grips, the Pistolero Plus has a larger profile in the top hand location near the butt of the grip and is also slightly heavier and provides the appropriate complement to the mid-mallet putters’ head shapes.

FINISH & GRAPHICS: New 2023 Super Select stainless steel putter heads all undergo Scotty’s silver mist process for a near-permanent, radiant, yet glare resistant, appearance and texture. The 6061 aircraft grade aluminum components have been misted and anodized in a clear, bright aluminum finish. Scotty’s familiar three-dot theme carries through to the back cavities as unpainted, raw circles milled into the stainless steel. The engravings and sight lines are painted asphalt gray, except on the soles where “Scotty Cameron” and the “+” symbols on Plus models are accented in cherry red translucent paint.

Titleist – Introduction of new Scotty Cameron Futura X5 and X5R putters

October 26, 2014 – The new Scotty Cameron Futura X5 putters combine a multi-material construction with a modern, wing back design to provide high-MOI performance in a refined shape.

For more than a decade, Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron’s Futura putter designs have delivered performance and stability. The new Scotty Cameron Futura X5 and X5R models provide stability through advanced perimeter weighting with solid, forgiving feel, and vertical and horizontal sightlines for easier alignment. The X5 model is angled in the back, while the X5R features a rounded shape. The Matador Red Midsize grip matches well with the face-balanced mallet design for those players looking to execute a more square-to-square stroke.

“The Futura X5 mallet is for someone who likes the stability of a bigger head, the feel of a bigger grip, and likes to look down and see more lines for alignment purposes. X5 is more of a mechanical shape where the X5R is a softer, rounder shape. There’s no right or wrong; same performance, same weight, same feel. It all depends on what you like to look at,” Scotty Cameron said.

“We’re finding that mallets make up as much as 50 percent of the putters used on the PGA Tour each week – and for good reason. The size of the head is larger so it looks and feels more stable on the ground. The bigger the head, the more lines you can add for alignment. We worked with many players on tour and in the Putter Studio during the development of X5 and they all told us the same thing: It adds confidence.”

In addition, the new Scotty Cameron Futura X5 Dual Balance (DB) putter combines the X5 head style with Dual Balance technology to provide maximum stability for golfers who struggle to make a consistent stroke with a conventional length putter. Like all Dual Balance models, Futura X5 DB has a 50-gram heavier head (400 grams total) and a 50-gram counterweight in the butt of the shaft. This configuration helps many players to make a proper stroke where the butt of the shaft remains pointed at the midsection. Dual Balance putters have a standard length of 38 inches with a 15-inch grip that allows the player to grip down below the counterweight for a more stable stroke.
