July 27, 2015 – The TaylorMade-adidas Golf staff player Jason Day birdied the final three holes to win the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday. The 27-year-old Australian made a 20-foot putt on the par-5 18th for a 4-under 68 and a one-stroke victory over Bubba Watson (Ping), and two over Canadian David Hearn (TaylorMade Golf). One week after he came agonizingly close to making a playoff at The Open Championship, the Aussie didn’t take any chances at Glen Abbey.
Jason Day’s win with the R15 driver is the 13th for TaylorMade Drivers in the full calendar 2014-15 PGA Tour season (fifth for the R15). Day plays his R15 460 driver at 10.5º (set to lower) with a Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver 70x shaft, and has his weights centred for maximum distance.
He averaged over 330 yards off the tee this week. With 70 (44.9% of the field), TaylorMade Golf had more than double the amount of drivers in play than the next closest manufacturer.
Day’s victory is the fourth for TaylorMade’s new Tour Preferred EF wedge. He recently switched to a 47º, 52º & 60º combination in the Tour Grind after previously playing the ATV Grind.
