February 14, 2017 – Leading golf apparel brand Galvin Green has announced its strongest ever Team of brand ambassadors for this season, with a total of 32 professionals headed by PGA Tour star Troy Merritt and LPGA and Solheim Cup winner Caroline Masson.

The Official Supplier of Weatherwear to the European Team at The 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris is providing its award-winning clothing to talented players from 13 nations competing on the PGA, European, Challenge, LPGA, Ladies European and LET Access Tours in 2017.

“Once again Galvin Green is supporting talented young golfers we see as having a big future in the game and we’re very excited about their prospects for the current season,” said Greg Pearse, Managing Director for UK & Ireland.

“With garments like the new C-KNIT waterproofs, we have really pushed the boundaries of clothing technology this season to provide the ultimate comfort for our professional players in any weather condition they’ll have to contend with on Tour,” he added.

Competing in high-performance Galvin Green clothing on the PGA Tour alongside Troy Merritt, who secured his first title at the Quicken Loans National in 2015, are Richy Werenski and Australian Brett Drewitt.

The list of players coming out of a successful European Tour 2016 season includes the consistent Ricardo Gouveia from Portugal and England’s Chris Paisley. Also on the European Tour wearing Galvin Green this season are Matt Nixon, John Parry, Laurie Canter, Daniel Im and Carlos Pigem (second picture).

Alexander Björk, who is attached to the brand’s home golf course at Växjö GC in central Sweden, has begun playing on the European Tour for the first time, after finishing seventh in the Challenge Tour rankings last year. Björk has made the cut in his first five events and attributes his strong opening performances to being comfortable in different playing conditions.

“Galvin Green is the best golf clothing you can get and perfect for the changing conditions we face on Tour. I am proud to wear Galvin Green products and since they are based in my home city, it’s a perfect match!”, says Alexander Björk.

Eight promising players are also competing in Galvin Green clothing on the European Challenge Tour that begins next month in Kenya. New signings Guido Migliozzi (third picture), Thriston Lawrence and Christiaan Bezuidenhout from the Modest! Management stable join Gary Boyd, Daniel Gavins, Lauri Ruuska (first picture), Kalle Saamoja, Morton Orum Madsen and Kevin Phelan.

German star Caroline Masson, who shot a final round six-under 66 to claim her maiden LPGA Tour title at the Manulife LPGA Classic last month, heads the female line-up alongside Ladies European Tour players Kelsey MacDonald and Sophie Walker.

Karolin Lampert, Mireia Prat (fourth picture) and two Swedish players Louise Larsson and Isabella Ramsey are also competing on the LET, while Josephine Janson, Johanna Björk, Alexandra Bonetti and Marika Voss represent the brand on the LET Access Tour.

The 2017 Part-1 Galvin Green range contains more than 100 garments, including waterproof jackets and trousers, pullovers, shirts, shorts, hats, gloves, socks, base layers and accessories; of which around half are brand new lines. The latest range also features original fabric technology entirely new to the golfing world across four different layers within its pioneering Multi-layer concept.

“We felt the best way to showcase the exciting new technology was to increase our presence on the Tour and we are really looking forward to working with more players than ever before,” said Tom Burlison who looks after Galvin Green’s Sports Marketing.

Galvin Green – Mireia Prat, testimonial of the clothing brand in Spain and Europe

Entrevista-Mireia-Prat-Galvin-Green-1-Portada

November 5, 2014 – After succeeding in the 2013 LET Access Series, this season has been the premiere of the Spanish golfer Mireia Prat on the Ladies European Tour (LET) with a full card, and she couldn’t be better equipped than with Galvin Green. The Swedish technical clothing golf brand has chosen her to show its image not only in Spain but also throughout the European tour, where very few players enjoy the privilege of being elegantly dressed and well protected at the same time, to give their best performance on the golf course.

About to finish the LET season, Mireia Prat feels she has done well. “Maybe I was expecting a little more, but for my first full year, I think it has been pretty good.” Despite being a much more demanding tour, with more competitive rivals, different courses that require you to travel much more, outside Europe, and being many weeks away from home, “the change is for the better, because it demands more from you as a player and makes you grow,” says the Spanish golfer.

MYGOLFWAY: Why do you think Galvin Green is so highly valued in the Tour?

MIREIA PRAT: More and more players are wearing it, especially for the rain, as it is one of the brands of technical clothing with which you just don’t get wet. It also has varied clothing for all weather conditions, and the quality is very good. A rain jacket can last you a lot without letting the water in. And it is also very light; you can easily take three or four garments in your golf bag because they take up no space.

MGW: Few Tour players are sponsored by Galvin Green, and less among the ladies. Do you feel privileged?

MP: The truth is I thank them for trusting me to be the image of the brand. Currently on the Tour there are few girls with Galvin Green, and when they see me they all ask how I managed. One of the most important things is to have apparel in good condition, because when you aren’t feeling good, good clothes help you better perform. So yes, I feel privileged.

MWG: After playing in the wind and rain, what competitive advantages have you discovered in the clothing and which ones do you like most?

MP: First, they are very comfortable and very good quality. The Paclite Gore-Tex Jacket is what I use most, and it folds up into very little space. I also use the Windstopper windproof, and for the winter I like the Insula, because only with one polo shirt below you feel very comfortable even if it is cold. You also have the Skintight base layer compression for different temperatures. And when it’s hot, I feel great with the short-sleeved Ventil8 shirts, because they breathe well and don’t build up odour.

MGW: How do you experience the Galvin Green’s Multilayer Concept on the course, playing in all weather conditions?

MP: For me, just wearing two Galvin Green layers I can tackle any weather. For example, if it rains and you’re wearing a Ventil8 short sleeve or long sleeve shirt, I put on a Paclite rain jacket and I’m comfortable. If it’s a little cold I wear the Skingtight below and I’m comfortable. With a short sleeved polo shirt, if the wind comes up I put on the Windstopper and I’m comfortable.

For example in the UK, which is where the weather changes most during a day, or the other day when it rained heavily in South Africa, you take a Galvin Green garment of each type in your bag and you know you’re fully protected.

MGW: From the Galvin Green Lady’s Collection, what do you like most?

MP: They make the polo shirts a little more tailored, and the colours … I like the violet, purple and pink. But I’ve already seen the catalogue for the Spring-Summer 2015 season and they’re bringing out very different garments, all much more feminine, with more attractive polo shirts for us, with much better skirt lengths… they’re clearly going to make a change for the better, introducing more clothing for girls.

MGW: And how does the 2015 season look for you? What expectations do you have?

MP: Right now I hope to finish the season well, and get the card for the coming year. And in 2015, well, improve the goals of this year, and continue to grow as a player, at the moment, on the Ladies European Tour.
