KZG – KZG loves golf lefties… the ZO Plus Blades and more

September 12, 2017 – KZG,  known for its award winning forged irons for golf, now adds the left hand model of its popular ZO Plus Blades for competitive lefties.

Lefties often feel like the step child with less equipment options than Righties.  This is truly not a function of ignoring lefties, but rather more about commercial feasibility.  When you consider the cost of tooling and amortizing that cost over a smaller volume of equipment sales, most golf companies opt for fewer leftie models.

“But KZG has always been different”, reports Jennifer King, President of KZG.  “We are a golf company, not a marketing company.  Rather than change models every year (or every six months), KZG keeps its models available for many years…KZG clubs actually have intrinsic value!”

Lefties are just like other golfers…they have unique swings … and thus one size does not fit all.  KZG carries 7 models of left handed irons so that KZG Master Fitters can select the design features required for each lefty golfer:

  • ZO Plus: Forged blade for the competitive player
  • Evolution III: Forged midsize cavity back for the mid to low handicapper
  • Forged V: Forged cavity back with low cg for the mid to high handicap player
  • EC II: Progressive cavity back for the mid to low handicapper
  • XCB: Deep undercut with low cg for the mid to high handicap
  • HPS: Oversize with wide sole and low cg for the high handicap player
  • LDI: And the new insert iron that will make everyone’s game “young again”.

KZG – Introduction of new RSG wedges with a slightly softened leading edge

August 19, 2017 – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine, launches the RSG Wedges, the ideal short game tools.

The RSG Wedges feature a classic profile with a standard grind.  They are engineered with a slightly softened leading edge to preclude digging and a relieved trailing edge for shot versatility.

Every RSG Wedge features a micro-milled face and laser cut scorelines to assure increased spin rates from all lies and in all conditions.   KZG uses a softer grade of stainless steel and heat treats the RSG clubheads to give a “Feel of Forged” without the cost of a forged clubhead.  Each Wedge is beautifully balanced for consistent performance.

The RSG Wedges are best suited for those golfers playing on softer conditions.  The relieved trailing edge aids the golfer in adapting to more mid to firm courses when needed. Traveling or tournament golfers who play in a myriad of course conditions will find that the RSG Wedges will give them the versatility they need to accommodate various conditions.  For players who habitually play on harder conditions they may want to consider KZG’s XRS or XSC Wedges with a C Grind.

KZG – Launch of ZO Plus blades, the competitive player’s dream irons

February 9, 2017 – KZG, The No1 Custom ProLine, has launched the ZO Plus Blades designed for competitive players.

Known for its award winning forged irons, KZG now adds the ZO Plus Blades to its line. The original ZO model was played by many touring professionals as well as avid players around the globe and has been in the line for many years. Unlike other brands that change models each year, KZG maintains its models until such time a better performing version can be created.

Each ZO Plus clubhead is triple forged from virgin carbon steel to assure the maximum compaction of the molecular structure thereby eliminating all voids for perfect repeatable consistency on every shot. And equally important is that each clubhead is forged in one piece, a more expensive manufacturing process but critical for energy flow and feedback. Many forged irons on the market are forged in two pieces requiring the hosel to be welded to the body, thereby interfering with energy flow.

Another critical feature is that each ZO Plus clubhead is totally CNC milled to assure pinpoint accuracy in every specification. Over the years, KZG has found that hand finishing was often faulty due to human errors.

The ZO Plus Blades will delight the ardent player. A slight amount of offset was added to the ZO Plus to help create more launch angle and more spin, yet the offset is well concealed. The leading edge has been softened to improve turf interaction. The KZG panel of prototype testers report very little loss of dispersion or distance on off-centre hits… beyond their expectations.

KZG – Seven “World’s Top 100 ClubFitters” for 2015 from Spain

February 22, 2015 – KZG, the No1 Custom ProLine, has announced the annual “World’s Top 100 ClubFitters” for 2015. Each year KZG honours 100 professionals possessing superior skill, integrity and passion for clubfitting. This is the tenth year in a row that KZG has honoured the elite of the industry’s clubfitters, and it’s notable that 7 of them work in Spain.

“Surveys report that 9 out of 10 golfers are playing the wrong clubs. Teaching professionals are unanimous: you can’t teach around ill-fitting clubs”, states Dr. Jennifer King, President of KZG.

This year’s Honourees hail from 22 countries around the world, including 48 from the UK/Europe -7 from Spain-, 26 from the United States, 11 from Canada, 5 from Asia, 8 from Australia and 2 from Africa. SPANISH WORLD’S TOP 100 CLUBFITTERS

An independent panel of industry experts determine the criteria necessary to be considered a top clubfitting professional. From the criteria submitted, a point system was put into place to grade each application. The panel included Clay Long, renowned club designer and personal fitter for Jack Nicklaus; Gene Parente, president of Golf Laboratories, Inc. a testing facility used by the major equipment manufacturers; Dr. Jennifer King, KZG’s President; and Dr. Christian Reichardt, author and doctor of sports medicine and fitness.
