CPG – Glenmuir reignite partnership with CPG to boost opportunities for PGAs professionals

Glenmuir – Innovative Autum – Winter 2023 Collection with sustainable, waterproof and performance golf clothing

September 15, 2023 – Glenmuir the renowned Scottish golf clothing brand, has pushed the boundaries of sustainable knitwear technology by introducing a waterproof Touch of Cashmere knitwear collection and performance outerwear in its Autumn Winter 2023 (AW23) collection. The striking colour stories continue for AW23 with on trend colours Amethyst and Marine Green as well as classic colours Tahiti and Candy.

GOLF SWEATERS & KNITWEAR

Glenmuir has taken their signature Touch of Cashmere zip neck golf sweaters and injected cutting edge German Bionic water-repellent technology. This results in unique knitwear pieces which are breathable, showerproof, stretch, soft to touch and anti-pill. Solway is knitted into a herringbone texture with an elegant placket consisting of mock suede zip jets and an embossed mock leather zip puller. Combining a classic birdseye knit with contemporary colour blocks on the shoulders and side panels is Strathern, whilst a sporty take on knitwear is exemplified in Biggar with a combination on marl and solid colour blocking and ribbed highlight stripes. This new collection meets the needs of the modern discerning golfer offering full versatility to play in all seasons.

For ladies’ golf knitwear, Becca and Jody are extremely elegant ladies designs, Becca fuses rib and cable knitting techniques to create a directional pattern on the front body with silver lurex tipping detail whilst Jody has an intricately ribbed design creating a pattern of diamonds. The Cassidy Zip neck sweater has a beautiful birdseye argyle on the front body, a contemporary take on traditional golf wear style. Each piece of knitwear is hand-knitted by craftsmen with stitches linked manually resulting in a long-lasting perfect fit and resilient flat seams and have the same Bionic water-repellent technology giving them showerproof capabilities.

Brand new in the ladies’ lined sweaters category is Penelope, a beautiful piece of ladies’ Italian merino wool knitwear enhanced by adding soft touch lining for an extra wind resistant layer. It also features the Bionic water-repellent finish, a zipped neck and ribbed detail at the side seams, available in 3 colourways including Charcoal Marl, Navy Marl and Amethyst Marl.

GOLF OUTERWEAR & MIDLAYERS

Brand new for Autumn Winter are exciting new additions to Glenmuir’s golf midlayer collection. For men the Douglas is an stylish new midlayer design with a tonal marl and solid panelled design. Contrast tipping around the zip and a sleeve stripe detail provide a sharp and sporty aesthetic along with a ribbed hem and cuff for support and grip. It is both water and wind resistant and provides thermal properties whilst remaining breathable for optimum comfort.

In the men’s padded golf outerwear collection, we can now see the introduction of Glenmuir’s Tartan print. This first emerged through the g.Cuthberts  performance golf trouser and due to high demand can now be seen brand new for AW23 in the Callandar padded golf jacket. The option of Tartan/Navy has also been added to Elrick water repellent interlock jacket, part of the Storm Bloc outerwear collection.

For ladies’ new padded golf outerwear is a brand new style Ella, a full zip hooded hybrid jacket with padded zones. This sleek and stylish jacket is highly water repellent, windproof and breathable with 4 way stretch for enhanced freedom of movement. It provides warmth through the brushed fleece backing and also from the padded zones on the front and back which are elegantly embossed with a subtle animal print. The ladies performance midlayer collection introduces Indy, a full zip fleece backed water repellent midlayer. Glenmuir – Ambassador Carmen Alonso claims maiden victory at Ladies European Tour

July 4, 2023 – Having worn Glenmuir for nearly 3 years, Carmen Alonso always put her trust in Glenmuir performance zip neck shirts coupled with a 100% cotton knit sweater, aptly embroidery with stars, achieving a 4-under 68 in the final round to win the Ladies Open by Pickala Rock Resort, in Finland.

The win marks for the Spanish golfer her first after a hard fought 19 seasons on the LET and 251 starts. With her win which is worth 500 LET points, Alonso climbs to ninth in the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol and qualifies for this month’s Amundi Evian Championship.

Carmen Alonso, said following the win: “I’m really really happy! You don’t know how much. This is my 19th year on the Tour and I never won before. I don’t have words to say. It means more for my coaches. For the people that have worked closely with me for all these years. They always encouraged me to continue and to do what I like to do. This is for all of them more than for me!”

Glenmuir – Natural and sustainable performance in the Autumn Winter 2021 Collection

October 8, 2021 – Glenmuir the renowned Scottish golf clothing brand, reveals its Autumn Winter collection for 2021 with products crafted to perform combining sustainable luxurious natural fibres and technical fabrics with contemporary design. The three striking colour stories continue for AW21 with Spring Green, Magenta and Ascot Blue.

Exciting new additions to Glenmuir’s padded outerwear collection include padded Storm Bloc. Performance gilet Bute. Made with a performance water and wind resistant outer and heat insulating down which retains body warmth whilst bonded zones add a contemporary design element. The collar is also padded for added warmth and stretch binding around the armholes and hem retain comfort and freedom of movement, finished with coordinating lock down zips and printed branding.

Callendar is a performance padded hybrid jacket with a combination of stretch brushed back fleece sleeves and side panels and a warm padded front and back body panel. The cuffs and hem fit snuggly in stretch rib finish, this garment cleverly combines the ultimate warmth, comfort, ease of movement and sleek design without any added bulk. Both Callendar and Bute are available in 3 colour options.­

For ladies’ Glenmuir also have two new padded outerwear options, Ayla is a wind resistant and water repellent gilet with thermal padded zones on the front and back. Ramsay is a brand new men’s midlayer for AW21, it is a raglan sleeved zip neck midlayer combining a tonal marl and solid colour block design with a striking highlight sleeve stripe and zip detail. Ramsay is made from active functional fabric with moisture wicking yarn delivering thermoregulation, breathability, and enhanced freedom of movement.

In the ladies’ midlayer collection a welcomed addition is Bree with a full length zipped front and a sporty colour block design. Made with a brushed fleece inner for warmth and a 4-way stretch for comfort this raglan sleeved midlayer is both wind resistant and water repellent. It comes in three classic colour options, Navy/White, Light Grey Marl/Black and Hot Pink/Light Grey Marl.

For Glenmuir’s signature Touch of Cashmere zip neck sweaters, contemporary sporty design meets natural fibres to create unique knitwear pieces which are breathable, stretch, soft to touch and have an anti-pill finish. The three striking colour stories continue for AW20 with Spring Green, Magenta and Ascot Blue.

Brand new for Autumn Winter is Glenmuir’s 2-layer Storm Bloc. Waterproof Jackets for men g.Elrick and ladies g.Poppy. The lightweight technical jackets are made from a soft touch interlock fabric which is quiet and enhances freedom of movement with its 4-way stretch properties. In addition, the technical fabric is highly waterproof, windproof and breathable creating a modern playable outer layer choice.

April 2, 2020 – Glenmuir, the Scottish golf clothing brand, has launched a 3 part short film series with popular YouTube vlogger The Average Golfer filmed at Archerfield, Formby and Conwy to capture the spirit of golf during these difficult and uncertain times.

With golfers across the world unable to play their beloved game for the first time since King James II’s ban in 1457, and repeated in 1471 and 1491, the films serve as a reminder that Glenmuir will always be there to dress beginners and professionals alike, of every level and generation, all coming together for the love of the game. Glenmuir – Five year agreement celebration with Ryder Cup Europe for the 2020, 2022 and 2024 matches

January 13, 2020 – Glenmuir, the Scottish golf clothing brand, has agreed a historic five year partnership with Ryder Cup Europe which brings their association to nearly 40 years. Glenmuir will be the Official Licensee of the 2020, 2022 and 2024 matches and to celebrate the partnership the brand has launched the Official 2020 Ryder Cup collection.

Sunderland – The leading technical golfwear Scottish brand joins Glenmuir family

October 25, 2019 – Sunderland of Scotland, the leading technical golf wear brand, has been acquired by Glenmuir, the Scottish golf clothing brand. The historic agreement brings together Scotland’s most loved golf brands with a combined 230 years of golfing heritage between them.

Effective from 1st January 2020, Glenmuir will own the global rights and distribution for the Sunderland of Scotland brand outside of Asia. The agreement follows on from a successful 10 year partnership where Glenmuir were the European distributor for the Sunderland brand.

Both brands, in addition to the MacWet golf rain glove brand, will continue to be designed, marketed, embroidered, finished and distributed from Glenmuir’s Lanark headquarters in the heart of Scotland with no changes to employment planned. The company will continue to launch separate Glenmuir and Sunderland of Scotland brand collections for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter in addition to capsule collections such as the recent 1891 Heritage Collection and Saltire Collections. The brands have seen tremendous growth in the last two years and are now distributed in over 30 countries globally with the latest market to launch both brands being Canada.

Glenmuir – Aaron Rai grips his firts European Tour win with MacWet Golf Gloves

November 27, 2018 – British golfer Aaron Rai beat Matthew Fitzpatrick to clinch the season-opening Honma Hong Kong Open. The three-time Challenge Tour winner wore his signature MacWet Golf Gloves on both hands throughout all rounds.

The MacWet Golf is designed to provide unrivalled grip in dry and wet weather conditions whilst maintaining feel and control and are sold in pairs which is unique in the golf industry. The weather in Hong Kong included rain and wind but Aaron was able to maintain his lead winning by one shot.

Glenmuir – Celebration of 30 years of Ryder Cup success with Official 2018 Ryder Cup Range

May 2, 2018 – Glenmuir, the Scottish heritage golfwear brand have launched their Official 2018 Ryder Cup Range celebrating over 30 years of partnership with Ryder Cup Europe.

Glenmuir’s history with the Ryder Cup began in 1987 when they designed and produced the shirts and knitwear for Europe’s famous first victory on American soil in 1987 at Muirfield Village.  Glenmuir continued this partnership, designing shirts and knitwear for a further 14 successive European Ryder Cup Teams. This year, Glenmuir are proud to be an Official Licensee of The 2018 Ryder Cup for the matches to be held at Le Golf National, Paris in September.

Glenmuir – Openning of the first pop-up store in Gangnam, South Korea

March 14, 2018 – Glenmuir, the Scotland heritage golfwear brand have opened their first pop-up store in Gangnam, South Korea, launching the Spring Summer 2018 collection. The pop up will occupy a space in the Shinsegae Department store from March 9th to 29th and will become a permanent shop in the near future. In addition, Glenmuir will participate in the Shinsegae Gangnam Golf Festival from March 30th to April 1st.

This year, Glenmuir Korea sponsors Kyung Nam Kim, ten times KPGA winner, as well as further Glenmuir ambassadors including Min Kyu Han, Bong seob Kim, dae han Lee, Seung yoon Kim, Eil Sak Choi and Dae ho Kim, all leading players on the KPGA.
