SoftSpikes – Scottie Scheffler goes back-to-back in The Bahamas wearing Tour Flex Pro spikes
December 10, 2024 – Players choosing to compete wearing Softspikes accounted for 90% of the field at the limited-field 2024 Hero World Challenge, with the World No.1, Scottie Scheffler, wearing his trusted Tour Flex Pro spikes, capturing back-to-back titles in The Bahamas.
Starting the final round 1-shot behind the leader, the game’s most dominant player produced a flawless, bogey-free round of 9-under par 63, to tie the tournament record and end the year in style with a commanding 6-shot victory.
The World No.1 becomes the 39th PGA Tour winner to do so wearing spikes in the past 42 events. In total, 18 of the 20 players in the elite field chose to compete in Softspikes.
“2024 has been a truly magnificent year on Tour for Softspikes, with a record 92% of Tour winners, including all four Major Champions, putting their trust in spikes to win the biggest titles in golf,” commented Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes.
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
