January 17, 2016 – The Long Drivers European Tour (LDET) presents the fourth season which will start next 8th and 9th April in Scotland. The Fairmont St Andrews will host the first tournament of LDET, extending the calendar this year to ten stops in ten different countries, including Scotland premieres and Denmark, Austria, Hungary and Portugal. Nine of the ten scenarios have changed; only three countries repeat and Czech Republic is back to the tour after a year of absence.

The new LDET season will start stronger and with lots of emotions at the Fairmont Saint Andrews, one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in the world, which will be the first stop of the season. In Scotland, considered the “Home of Golf”, the sport has been practiced for over 600 years and for the first time; Europe’s best hitters showcase their talent on the 8th and 9th April.

The European tour keeps growing and showing the long drive to all corners around Europe and will reach new and impressive venues such as Silkeborg Ry Golfklub in Denmark, the largest golf complex in the country and where we will have the second season event next 6th and 7th May.

The Long Drive show will also stops in Austria at the Diamond Country Club (24th & 25th June), where two weeks before will host a European Tour championship. Hungary will receive the hitters at the Zala Springs Golf Resort (29th & 30th July), a course designed by the prestigious Robert Jones, one of the best golf course designers. Portugal, named best golf destination 2015 in the world at the World Golf Awards (WGA) will enjoy the bombs from the hitters at the Belas Clube de Campo (23rd & 24th September).

Among the new venues, three countries will continue to focus on the long drive. The first will be Netherlands, which will hold a second season in a row tournament at the gates of the summer: 3rd and 4th June at the Amsterdam Old Course. Slovenia will also be part of the circuit and this season the event will take place at the emblematic landscape of the Lake Bled at the Golf Bled (19th and 20th August). In Italy, the tour moves to the Garda Golf Club (9th and 10th September) in Solano del Lago, chosen as the best course in the country in the 2015 WGA awards.

Czech Republic will host again one of the tournaments after being absent last year; this season it will be in a course near the capital: Golf Club Praha (8th and 9th July).

The last stop of the season will be the classic The Masters LDET Cup. This final tournament will complete the ten championships and most likely will take place outside the borders of Europe.

HITTERS AT HIGH LEVEL

The American Maurice Allen will have the challenge to defend the European title champion and to prove again his level against the rest of professional tour hitters. Dewald Lubbe, Frederik Frost, Scott Beaven, Mauro Benaglio or Adrián Sánchez will be, surely, names to consider in a circuit. The LDET consolidates year after year and also will continue to pursue the categories of amateur, junior and women in this new season.
