July 12, 2013 – This week TaylorMade Golf debuted a special new prototype driver on the PGA and European Tours for initial testing with its Tour Staff professionals from around the world, at the John Deere Classic and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

Here is the exclusive, insider-only gallery of images from the Tour trucks in the United States and Europe as the drivers were unboxed in preparation for building and testing. TaylorMade also revealed images of their new prototype SLDR driver on its Facebook and Twitter feed.

While we’ve no further information on the driver just yet, we know that has been in hands of the last US Open champion, Justin Rose, that players like Brian Gay, Boo Weekley or Lucas Glover have had launch monitor testing sessions at the PGA Tour, and golfers like Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley, Martin Laird, Joel Sjoholm, José Manuel Lara or Jorge Campillo have already tested at the European Tour.

We notice that the SLDR prototype driver, which hit the USGA Conforming List on Monday morning, has a new black, blue and silver clubhead of 460cc which implements a new technology on the sole. A slider moveable weight technology along the sole appears replace the TaylorMade’s adjustability system of removable screws of the heel and toe weights. We hope all will be revealed soon…
