Hirzl – Nothing Better for the World’s Longest Drive Hitter

November 6, 2011 – From both sides of the Atlantic, the companies Hirzl USA, in Mesquite (Nevada), and Hirzl AG, in St. Gallen (Switzerland), are celebrating the extraordinary new Long Drive world record. During the ReMax Long Drive World Championship 2011, the long drive world record held by Frank Miller since 2007, has passed into the hands of David Mobley, who has smashed the 360m barrier by sending the ball to 420 m… and his glove was a Hirzl.

Setting a new world record is a great sports highlight, but doing so convincingly by a margin of 60 m is spectacular. Not only that, but it also exceeds by 46 m the distance of the Open Division winner. Champagne bottles uncorked in the headquarters of Hirzl in St. Gallen, because the record not only represents an achievement in the sports world in general, but a turnaround in the fortunes of the engineers of the Swiss brand of gloves. This is because the brand is based on the fact that gloves designed for this level of play actively provide a difference in the performance of the golfer, and therefore become a real technological improvement rather than a mere golf accessory.

A thorough understanding of the biomechanics involved in the club-to-golfer connection means that Hirzl is not just a ‘muscular glove’. The brand is already attracting a growing number of amateur and professional Tour players, who are showing interest in the Hirzl Grippp and Hirzl Soffft models.
