April 29, 2024 – GolfStar Group have signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the Costa Daurada Golf Association, through GolfStar Travel the aim is to increase the number of Swedish and Finnish golfers visiting the fantastic Spanish region in Tarragona, at the south of Barcelona.

“Together with the Association, getting the opportunity to market and put this jewel of golf destination Costa Daurada on the golf map is fantastic and we are very proud to start this in-depth collaboration”, begins Stefan Brikell, Market Director at GolfStar.

“Sweden and Finland are important markets for us and through the collaboration with GolfStar, Costa Daurada Golf Association members will now have the chance to market the region with everything we have to offer in terms of accommodation, golf courses, beaches, restaurants, wineries, culture and much more other towards GolfStar’s 50,000 Nordic customers. We are convinced that this collaboration will be very successful and look forward to a long-term collaboration with GolfStar”, says Jordi Hernandez, Director of the Costa Daurada Golf Association.

The agreement is accompanied by a calendar of events, which are launched from Sweden and Finland, without delay.

“We are kick-starting the collaboration and marketing of Costa Daurada by, among other things, arranging 7 competitions for our 50,000 members. Five of the competitions will be played on our courses around Stockholm and two competitions on our Finnish courses around Helsinki. The competitions will be held during the period May to September and the first competition will start on May 25 at GolfStar Viksberg. From each sub-competition, two teams will advance to the final which will be played in November, in Costa Daurada”, says Stefan.

‘STAY & PLAY’ PACKAGES IN 6 COURSES

“As part of this collaboration, we will now fully launch GolfStar Travel exclusively for our members. This ‘own travel agency’ helps to book favorable ‘Stay & Play’ packages at our selected golf courses and partners in the Costa Daurada. The packages include accommodation, tee times and other types of activities, such as restaurant visits and wine tastings”, Stefan continues.

Golf is played on 6 golf courses. On its own club, GolfStar Cambrils as well as at Gaudí Golf 18-hole and Panorámica Golf 18-hole and at the three courses of the 45-hole resort Infinitum Golf – formerly Lumine Golf -. Accommodation will initially be at four selected hotels: Sol Port Cambrils Hotel, Monica Hotel, Instants Boutique Hotel and Mas Gallau Hotel.
