UNLIGOLF – Great success for the golf simulator in Terrassa during the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship 2026

14 May 2026 – The presence of golf right in the centre of Terrassa during the popular Fira Modernista 2026 became one of the most attractive and participative promotional activities of the weekend thanks to the action carried out by UNLIGOLF, which installed an outdoor golf simulator to bring this sport closer to the general public, coinciding with the staging of the 2026 Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship.

Framed within the emblematic Fira Modernista de Terrassa, where the city recreates the atmosphere of the early 20th century, UNLIGOLF’s proposal fitted perfectly with the historical theme of the event. To achieve this, the simulator recreated the course of Club de Golf Sant Cugat, considered the oldest golf course in Catalonia since its foundation in 1914, also accompanied by period clothing and several hickory clubs displayed to the public.

The action took place just a short distance from Real Club de Golf El Prat, simultaneous venue of the DP World Tour tournament, with a dual objective: to promote the championship and, above all, to bring golf closer to the hundreds of visitors, tourists and residents strolling through the centre of Terrassa during one of the city’s most crowded cultural events.

Far from being conceived as a competition or challenge with prizes, the activity opted for an open, participative and educational format. Each participant had three shots adapted to their level of play, although many decided to stay longer enjoying the experience and hitting additional shots simply for fun.

The result exceeded expectations. Despite the rain on Saturday afternoon, the simulator remained active from 11:00 am until the evening with virtually no interruptions and with constant participation. According to the data recorded by the simulator software, 697 shots were registered on Saturday, while on Sunday the figure rose to 1,037, confirming the great interest generated among the public.

At UNLIGOLF they particularly value the impact of having brought golf directly onto the street and into a popular and accessible environment, allowing many people to have their first contact with the sport in a close and entertaining way.

The action also received the support of the Federació Catalana de Golf, the organisation that promoted this initiative with the aim of continuing to promote golf in Catalonia, while also taking advantage of the staging of the professional tournament to generate new opportunities for visibility and attracting new fans.
