Ashworth Golf – The Jefferson Polo, set to be worn by Fred Couples at The Masters

April 5, 2015 – Ashworth Golf, the most authentic golf brand dedicated to bringing modern style to the golf course, has announced the release of The Jefferson Polo, a limited edition golf shirt designed to honour long-time brand ambassador Fred Couples.

The specially designed golf shirt, named after the century-old Jefferson Park Golf Course located near Couples’ childhood home in Seattle, has a sentimental value to Couples as it was the location where he discovered his natural swing and love for golf. Couples is set to wear The Jefferson Polo during the first round at Augusta.

The style features Ashworth’s newest apparel technology, Primatec cotton, a premium performance fabric that quickly disperses moisture keeping the face of the fabric dry with minimal visible sweat. Each limited edition golf shirt features “2015” laser-etched on the buttons and Fred’s signature story foil stamped on the hangtag.

“We worked with Fred to create a timeless and classic golf shirt while developing an emotional connection to a place he holds dear,” said Kristen Labate, Global Product Manager at Ashworth Golf. “We wanted to make something that was relaxed and approachable, just like him.”

A long-time ambassador for the brand, Fred Couples has worn Ashworth apparel on the professional stage since the brand’s inception more than 25 years ago. His celebrated career thus far includes 15 PGA Tour wins, 11 Champions Tour wins, membership on five Ryder Cup teams and four Presidents Cup teams. He won The Masters in 1992 and has an unblemished record as Captain of the U.S. Presidents Cup team, holding a perfect 3-0 record.
