Director of Golf, Francisco de Lancastre said: “IGTM was particularly busy for us this year and we had a full diary every day of the event. We have firm ambitions to be Europe’s top golfing experience and to this end have a lot of improvements going on that we wanted to share with partners old and new. IGTM was the perfect platform for this.”

Finca Cortesin has unveiled new and improved practice facilities at their Golf Club with new tee line and range furniture, following a substantial renovation. The Jack Nicklaus Academy has benefited from new FlightScope technology and guests will also enjoy the arrival of a new Club Car fleet of buggies, all with premium seats and the latest GPS technology.

IGTM-Costa-Brava

November 11, 2016 – 2016 is set to mark a milestone year for International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), the world’s premier global event for golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media, as, for the first time in its history, more than 14,000 appointments are scheduled to take place at the four-day exhibition.

The record number of scheduled appointments between buyers and exhibitors marks an increase of 30% from the previous high in 2015 and coincides with a 20% year-on-year growth in the number of pre-registered buyers.

IGTM’s unique pre-arranged appointment system will enable over 400 golf tour operators to meet and do business with exhibitors at the show, which is staged this year at Son Termes in Mallorca in Mallorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, from November 14 – 17.

Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said: “We constantly look for ways to innovate and enhance the business and networking opportunities at IGTM and for the 2016 edition we made the decision to further enhance the ratio of buyers to exhibitors.

“This strategy was designed to help provide more meeting opportunities and, in turn, enable a higher volume of business, so it is particularly pleasing to reach a record number of pre-arranged appointments in Mallorca.

“The ongoing success of IGTM reiterates the strategic importance of the appointment-based exhibition for tour operators, travel agencies and carriers and further reinforces the event’s value to the entire golf travel industry.”

Alongside the record number of pre-registered buyers, 515 companies will exhibit at IGTM 2016, including 66 first-time exhibitors, together with a range of local and international media, highlighting the event’s ongoing appeal.

August 30, 2016 – International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), the world’s premier global event for golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media, is set to attract a record number of tour operators, travel agencies and carriers to the appointment-based event, staged in Mallorca from November 14 – 17, 2016.

With 350 buyers already registered to attend, an increase of 8% from the 2015 edition, IGTM 2016 will enable a record number of scheduled appointments to take place between golf tour operators and exhibitors during the four-day event.

This year, IGTM is being staged in Mallorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, which saw almost 24 million passengers pass through Palma Airport in 2015, with the popular holiday destination enjoying 300 days of sunshine a year and boasting 23 golf courses.

Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said: “We have increased the ratio of buyers to exhibitors this year, which will provide more meeting opportunities and a higher volume of business to be achieved.

“We currently anticipate that around 380 buyers will register for the event this year, which would be a 15% increase from last year.

He added: “With over 90% of exhibitor space already allocated, we will definitely exceed the record number of 11,200 appointments achieved in 2015, ensuring Mallorca is the most successful edition to date.”

First-time buyers that have registered for the 2016 edition include Astro Tours from Columbia, InterGolf Co. Ltd, from Vietnam, World Splendour Holidays from Thailand and Light Miles Travel from the Philippines, further emphasising IGTM’s growing appeal, from Latin American and Asian organisations.

“With our ongoing commitment to attract new golf travel businesses to the event, it is particularly pleasing to have buyers from 57 companies registered for the first time, 17 of which are from long-haul markets including Brazil, China, Vietnam and India, highlighting that there continues to be a clear, quantifiable return on investment, for everyone that attends,” concluded Peter Grimster.

IGTM – Exhibitors generate more than 9.5 million Euros of business in golf tourism

IGTM-2016

July 26, 2016 – Analysis conducted by show organisers Reed Travel Exhibitions has revealed that exhibitors at International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) 2015 generated more than €9.5 million of business, as a direct result of attending the event.

The world’s premier global event for golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media attracted 500 exhibitors in 2015, with evaluation showing that almost half (48%) negotiated more than €10,000 of business, while 18% generated more than €50,000 within the first eight months of attending the show.

The IGTM 2015 appointment-based event, which had a record number of scheduled meetings – over 11,300 – conducted between buyers and exhibitors over three days, was one of the most successful editions to date.

Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said: “2015 was the fourth year of consecutive growth for the global golf travel market. With a year-on-year increase of more than €500,000 of business generated by exhibitors, IGTM remains the perfect platform for the global golf industry to network and conduct business.

“The latest figures from IAGTO’s 2016 First Quarter Golf Tourism Survey, which show golf tour operator sales up 6.5% on average when compared to the same period in 2015, would suggest that this positive industry trend looks set to continue.”

More than 450 companies have already committed to attend IGTM 2016, with 85% of stand space confirmed, including first time exhibitors Madrid Golf Federation from Spain, Elite Travel & Tourism from Oman, Pomorskie Tourist Board from Poland and Italian company Roncalli Viaggi, highlighting the event’s broad appeal.

With IGTM again enabling in excess of 10,000 scheduled meetings to take place, we look forward to another successful edition in Mallorca.”
