RCG La Manga – Celebration of its 45th anniversary with the concession of the title ‘Real Club de Golf’
October 30, 2017 – La Manga Club celebrates its 45th anniversary in style with the concession of the Royal Household title ‘Real Club de Golf La Manga’ (La Manga Royal Golf Club) and a growth trend of above 10% in 2018, continuing the evolution of the last 3 years. The second oldest golf resort in Spain continues to accumulate a range of awards of both national and international prestige such as the “Best Luxury Resort and Villas” in 2017, awarded by the World Travel Awards, widely regarded as the Oscars of tourism.
This October La Manga Club celebrates its 45th anniversary with the same philosophy that it had at the start of its journey: to offer a destination with magnificent surroundings (such as the Calblanque regional park and the Mediterranean Sea) that epitomises and unites exclusivity, leisure and sport, with an extraordinary climate throughout the majority of the year and exceptional safety and privacy conditions, providing unique experiences and service of the highest quality. This momentous occasion for the complex coincides with the concession of his Majesty the King’s title of ‘Real Club de Golf La Manga’ (La Manga Royal Golf Club), a title that only golf clubs with 25 years or more of existence have the luxury of being granted.
The resort, moreover, continues its growth trend of over 10% in 2018. “La Manga Club is known as one of the key destinations in the category of elite sport and leisure resorts in Europe. We have a proven winning formula that continues to attract visitors from all around the world, and this honour is the result of the hard work and dedication of our workforce to ensure that a five-star experience is offered to everyone on the complex.” José Asenjo pointed out, CEO and general director of La Manga Club.
This trend continues in the same manner as over last 3 years in which the complex has registered a 10% annual growth and an increase of 15% in EBITDA over the last year. “We value these figures positively and they serve as incentive to keep working and improving in this sense. Our country has far more to offer than beach tourism, and we intertwine excellent facilities, gastronomy of the highest quality, an enviable climate to prove this… We have intended to make the most of this year and allow those who visit to enjoy it to their maximum capacity, in a space free from tourist massification”, affirmed the director.
With a large presence of international tourists, above all English who make up an estimated 38% of the different nationalities that regularly visit the resort, La Manga Club ensures that it makes every effort to continue maintaining its high levels of quality and offers a unique experience at its facilities to each and every person that decides to choose the complex for his or her holiday. “The result of these effort is the numerous amount of achievements that we have received over these last 45 years.”
The most recent of these has been that of “Real Golf La Manga Club” (La Manga Royal Golf Club), a title that puts the finishing touch on the commemoration of 45 years’ worth of history on the settlement, for which a variety of activities are scheduled with the motive of celebrating the anniversary, such as discounts of 45% on different services, competitions on social media with a different prize every month etc. But this has not been the only recognition received by the resort over the last few months. La Manga Club has recently received one of the most prestigious awards in the tourism sector, of the World Travel Awards, known popularly as the Oscars of tourism, by winning the prize for the Best Luxury Resort and Villas in Europe for 2017, as well as being nominated for the Best Spa Resort in Spain and the Best Spanish Golf Hotel for 2017 that will be announced at an awards evening at the end of the year, along with being selected among the 5 best golf resorts in the world by the Telegraph Ultratravel Awards for consecutive years.
