Ping Award for Miguel Angel Jimenez

July 23, 2012 – The Best Spanish player classified in the British Open 2012, Miguel Angel Jimenez (tied 9th), received a surprise gift from his sponsor Ping before the tournament. On Tuesday 17th July, at the European PGA stand at the Royal Lytham and St. Annes, the President and CEO of the company, John Solheim, gave him a picture with his portrait painted by Harold Riley, on the occasion of his 25th anniversary with Ping Spain.
It is the first time in Ping’s history that an award like this has been given to a professional golfer in recognition of his 25 years playing with the material of the brand. The personality of Miguel Angel, from Malaga, and his loyalty to Ping, make it a very special event.
During the delivery of the painting, John Solheim recognized Pisha for his unique personality in the world of golf, and thanked him on behalf of all staff Ping worldwide. He also extolled his virtues as a person and as a golfer, recognizing his charisma and the appreciation he generates wherever he goes.
In addition to John Solheim, his son David Solheim also attended the act, along with John Clark (General Manager of Ping Europe), Dave Fanning (Marketing Director of Ping Europe), Chance Cozby (Head of the International Tour department), Dominic Griffiths (Head of the European Tour department), Fernando Cambronero (Manager of Ping Spain) and staff members of the PGA Tour and European Tour.
