• The Italian apparel brand has signed an agreement with the Spanish golfer to dress him, starting from the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship this weekend.

Selecting Alejandro Cañizares forms a brilliant addition to the group of Italian players who already wear Colmar in the European tours, such as Andrea Pavan, Marco Crespi, Edouardo Molinari and Lorenzo Gagli, or the legendary golfer Costantino Rocca. Following the footsteps of his father, the great José María Cañizares who played four times the Ryder Cup in the 80s and won the World Cup twice, Alejandro Cañizares began his professional career in 2006. That year he won the Imperial Collection Russian Open on the European Tour, and since then has managed to be second in four tournaments (2007 Madrid Open, 2010 French Open, 2010 Open Cala Millor Mallorca and 2012 Spanish Open) and third in two other events (2010 Spanish Open and 2012 Perth International). From then on, he has been playing on the European Tour without losing the card. In 2013 he was twice fourth, at the Omega European Masters in Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland and at the prestigious BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in England.
