February 25, 2014 – The Asociación de Profesionales de Golf de Catalunya, Catalunya PGA, is set for the 1st Professional Championship Catalunya PGA on 12th March at the Metropolitan Golf Barcelona.

This championship is organized by the Competition Committee of the new Catalunya PGA association, and participants will include any professional players, instructors, teachers and monitors, both male and female, with a license from the RFEG or the Catalan Golf Federation (FCG). Twenty amateur players licensed by the FCG may also participate, with a maximum handicap of 4.4, for which the competition which will be valuable for obtaining the necessary rounds for the Professional Golfer License.

The championship will be played under the Stroke Play Scratch formula over 18 holes, with money prizes for the top 20. This is also valid for the first ranking of the new Catalunya PGA professional Tour, called Pro Tour Catalunya 2014, which will be officially announced on the day of the first tournament.
