Ping – Billy Horschel, the ultimate putting machine with his Karsten TR B60
September 9, 2014 – Billy Horschelcaptured his second career PGA Tour title with a two-shot victory over Masters champion and fellow Ping staff player Bubba Watson at the BMW Championship, played in Cherry Hills CC.
After tying second at his previous event at the Deutsche Bank Championship, the 28-year-old American carded past Sunday a solid 1-under 69 with 11 consecutive pars up to the clubhouse.
Horschel, a full bag Ping player who uses the new Ping G30 driver like Bubba Watson, who came second on the leaderboard, held off one of the strongest fields of the season, particularly after he lost his chance to win on the 72nd hole at the Deutsche Bank Championship just a week before.
“I haven’t had the greatest season but I had my game today,” said Billy Horschel, who ranked second in Greens in Regulation with an exceptional 76.39%. He was also Nº1 in Strokes Gained-Putting with his Karsten TR B60.
Horschel moves into second place behind Chris Kirk heading into the final leg of the lucrative FedEx Cup Playoffs at the 30-man Tour Championship.
