Influencers – Golf can’t grow while coaching remains an expensive luxury
October 15, 2021 – Golf’s growth in a post-pandemic world depends on the availability of accessible and affordable coaching options, according to two of the biggest influencers in the sport.
Andy Proudman and Piers Ward, better known as Me And My Golf, say that golf will never be able to build on the increased popularity it experienced during the Coronavirus pandemic if the majority, rather than the minority, of golfers can’t access coaching and lessons.
That’s why the duo has signed a global distribution deal with Second Chance Ltd that will see a range of their revolutionary online coaching plans available to purchase via some of the biggest retailers in the world.
The deal, which launches today 15th October 2021, will mean retailers such as Amazon, American Golf, Golf Galaxy and Mail Order Golf will stock their best-selling coaching plans, offering effective and affordable golf tuition to millions more people around the world.
Me And My Golf then plan to launch their own branded training aids with up to 5,000 global retailers from 2022.
Andy Proudman says: “No one understands the value of face-to-face golf coaching better than us given our experience and the fact that we still love coaching players like Aaron Rai.
“But everyone knows lessons aren’t cheap. The only people who can really take advantage of in-person coaching are those who either have more disposable income or are having to make significant sacrifices to afford it.
“We don’t think that’s right, and we don’t think we’re going to see golf continue to grow in popularity until there’s a mainstream, affordable alternative on offer to help golfers play their most enjoyable golf.”
Piers Ward says: “Our online coaching plans are the closest you can get to being coached in person but at a fraction of the cost. If you were to work through these programmes with a coach, you could expect to pay upwards of £1,500 for the same material. Why should elite coaching only be available for minority? Why shouldn’t the average golfer be able to play golf feeling confident and empowered like others do following lessons?
“Our online plans teach you all the concepts, drills and techniques you need to achieve your specific goals via video, accounting for all of the various swing faults we see. It means golfers can take charge of their own practice and gain flexibility and freedom to practice whenever and wherever they like.”
Customers will be able to purchase the following coaching plans from retail partners:
All customers who purchase a plan from a retail partner between 15th October and 31st December will automatically receive the coaching plan: Secrets to Lower Scores (RRP £99) free.
