TaylorMade Golf – Scottie Scheffler wins in record-setting fashion at CJ Cup with Spider Tour X putter and P7TW Irons
May 5, 2025 – It’s a saying they never get sick of hearing at TaylorMade – Scottie Scheffler wins again. The World No. 1’s latest victory comes in dominant fashion at the CJ Cup 2025 at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Rounds of 61-63-67 and 63 led him to a PGA Tour record setting total of 253 (29 under par).
Throughout the tournament, Scottie’s laser-like precision with his P·7TW irons allowed him to attack flags and give himself plenty looks at birdie (and eagles). And, you guessed it, he made a bunch of putts. Bottom line, when Scottie strikes it with his irons and putts well with his Spider Tour X, the results speak for themselves.
There is a lot to talk about with Scottie’s latest win, so let’s dive straight in.

- Feet of Putts Made – 26th (80’5″)

BALL STRIKING SCOTTIE
Up until Scottie’s rise to the dominant No. 1 ranking in the world, it was a common axiom amongst the best players in the game that in 18 holes of tournament golf, there was a six-six-six rule that governed their iron approach strategy.
Simply put, there were six green light pins they could attack, six pins they played to with cautious aggression, and six they played away from toward the fat part of the green. That mantra certainly wasn’t the case this week with Scottie. His Strokes Gained: Approach ranked first at a whopping 12.811 shots.
For an inside look into Scottie’s approach shot strategy and how he works the ball from the middle of the green toward different pins, check out the clip below.
