RFEG – Nagore Martínez, Champion of the 2025 S.M. La Reina Cup at Real Club de Golf El Prat

March 2, 2025 – The Spanish amateur player Nagore Martínez has been crowned champion of the 2025 S.M. La Reina Cup, achieving a milestone in Spanish women’s golf. The young golfer from Barcelona has added another triumph for Spain, becoming the fifth Spanish player to win this prestigious tournament in the past decade. With this victory, she succeeded Andrea Revuelta, the 2024 champion, and joins a select list of players who have left their mark in the history of the S.M. La Reina Cup.

At just 17 years old, Nagore has demonstrated a high level of play, mental strength, and maturity on the course. In the final, held today at the Real Club de Golf El Prat, she faced Irish player Olivia Costello in an intense battle that started with an advantage for the foreign player. Costello had a three-hole lead, but Nagore, staying true to her style, did not give up. After an impressive comeback, the Barcelona native showcased all her talent, especially on holes 6 and 7, where she began to close the gap and increase the pressure on her rival.

Throughout the second half of the final, Nagore’s patience and solid play were key to the tournament’s outcome. With a crucial birdie on hole 10, she took advantage of Costello’s mistakes and completed a spectacular comeback that culminated in her victory in the final stretch of the course.

Nagore Martínez’s victory not only confirms her bright future in golf, but it also marks her entry into the exclusive group of champions of the S.M. La Reina Cup, a prestigious international tournament that remains a benchmark in women’s golf.

The 2025 S.M. La Reina Cup has been held at the iconic pink course of the Real Club de Golf El Prat from February 25 to today, with the participation of 108 players from around the world, including the best international amateurs.
