Ping – First victory of the S55 irons at the PGA Tour, in the hands of Ryan Moore
October 30, 2013 – The Ping S55 irons were in the bag of last Sunday’s winner at the CIMB Classic, contributing to Ryan Moore’s victory at the PGA Tour event in Malaysia, the first victory of the Ping S55 irons at the PGA Tour.
His S55 included a 3-9 iron set plus a 48 degree wedge, with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Lite X-100 shafts. He also played a 54 degree Ping Tour Gorge wedge, with a True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 shaft. A TaylorMade Burner SuperFast TP driver, the TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 fairway woods (3 and 5) and a Yes! Sandy-12 putter were also in his golf bag.
Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Billy Horschel, Luke Guthrie and many other Ping Tour pros already have the S55 irons in their hands. Mahan said of the iron: “After the first swing, I knew the S55 was going in my bag. I love the control, the trajectory and the forgiveness. It’s everything I want in a golf club”.
The S55 irons will be available in golf shops from the 1st of November.
Por REDACCIÓNGood results of Luke Guthrie and Azahara Muñoz
More success for Ping has arrived last week from the European Tour, were Luke Guthrie appears to love the handling and the power behind his S55 irons, what one might call the ultimate iron machine. At the BMW Masters he was the leader after the third round and finished fourth, 2 strokes back, after earning a T5 the previous week. Guthrie jumped out with an opening 7-under 65 to grab the 18-hole lead.
And also from the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, one month after her third professional win, Azahara Muñoz finished second. Her performance qualifies her for the season-ending CME Group Titleholders in late November.
A reminder of her Ping Tour Staff bag: A G25 driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, and hybrid; i20 irons; Tour Gorge and Anser wedges, and a Scottsdale TR Grayhawk putter.
