Crest Link – The Official Apparel of the Emirates Australian Open triumphs again in Sydney
November 23, 2016 – Crest Link golf apparel brand has been a great protagonist in its role as Official Apparel Partner at Emirates Australian Open 2016, held at the prestigious Royal Sydney Golf Club from 17th to 20th of November, and solved with a exceptional second victory by the American player Jordan Spieth (2014 & 2016).
The 101st edition of this world-class tournament could not have a better partner. As exclusive apparel sponsor for second time, Crest Link has provided attire for 75 officials of the event staff and more than 400 tireless volunteers, working with their white and red polo shirts, and has also supplied apparel for some of the Pro-Am players and the week’s caddy bibs. The Emirates Australian Open is considered Australia’s premier golf tournament, which attracts the world’s best players including the current world #5 Jordan Spieth.
In 2016 the tournament had some 50,000 spectators, who were able to purchase the latest Crest Link polo shirts, caps, teddies and bags all with the logo of the event at the official merchandise tent, under the motto ‘The choice of champions!’.
Crest Link has enjoyed outstanding presence in Sydney, and is proud of raising the brand to another level in the Australian and Australasia market. A great job for all the team of the company, who are already looking forward to returning in 2017.
Playing The Royal Sidney, Jordan Spieth has won a prize of 1.25 million Dollars after a intense playoff against Cameron Smith and Ash Hall, all tied at 12 under par, depriving the Australians of keeping the trophy at home since the victory of Matt Jones, the winner of 2015. Jordan fired rounds of 69, 70, 68 and 69, for a total of 276 shots.
Jordan Spieth was the best of a draw, which had a strong presence of Crest Link ambassadors of the PGA Tour of Australasia, such as the Australians Stephen Allan (T14, improving his T21 of 2015), Gareth Paddison (T35), Andrew Evans (T59) and Darren Beck. During the competition, the polo shirts of the brand stood out not only amongst the players, but also amongst the volunteers. It was impressive to see the Crest Link logo featured on the bibs of all the caddies, specially those of players like Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, Geoff Ogilvy, Rod Pampling, Jhonattan Vegas or Robert Allenby.
The apparel of the Malaysian company is perfect for the Australian golfers, as its clothing offers efficient moisture absorption and evaporation, it feels smooth and lighter than the traditional cotton golf fabrics, keeps golfers cool and dry at all times, gives protection against UV rays and reduces fatigue thanks to Crest Link technical fabric innovations such Micro-Dri, Micro-Dri A-Vent, Micro-Dri UV or Comp-Tech. All of these have been designed with the priority of putting golfers and their performance first, beyond anything else.
As an established brand for many years, Crest Link is increasing its presence Down Under, and the Australia’s National Open has been the perfect event for leading the way.
