January 31, 2017 – Carlos Pigem, Galvin Green‘s staff player, continues to shine on the AsianTour, and with his second place last Sunday in the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open 2017, he has achieved eleven Top-10s since joining the Tour in 2013.

The Spanish golfer played a superb tournament, with rounds of 70, 67, 68 and 68, for a total of -11 and 273 shots. However, he was unable to beat the success of Australian Todd Sinnott who, with two outstanding rounds of 64 and 65, finally took a three-hit lead over Pigem. Both were in the penultimate group and the game turned into an authentic battle for the victory, which for Carlos would have been the second after the Yeangder Tournament Players 2016.

“It was a very exciting week”, said Carlos Pigem after the tournament. “I didn’t play well in Singapore but this week I played pretty good. Today I missed one shot and that cost me a lot. I was going for it, but Todd (Sinnott) made his putts so he deserved to win. I went into the water on the 12^th hole, but I can’t complain about my play today. I hit one bad shot, that’s all, but I’ll carry on fighting in the next two weeks.”

Well equipped by Galvin Green’s smart technical VENTIL8 polo shirts in different colour combinations (white, grey, red, black…) Carlos Pigem has kept fresh and comfortable playing in the hot and humid conditions of the Pun Hlaing GC field in Myanmar, now placed third in the money list of the Asian Tour with 82,500 dollars. He has practically secured the tour card for 2018, although his aim is make the European Tour, which he got very close to last year.

During the week of the Myanmar Open, Carlos Pigem has been able to make extraordinary shots like this approach on the 11th hole… holing putters with suspense like this one… or holing this huge putt and feeling rather surprised at his fortune.
