February 24, 2015 – The Srixon – Cleveland Golf staff player Anirban Lahiri has beaten his compatriot S.S.P. Chowrasia in a play-off to claim an emotional home triumph at the 2015 Hero Indian Open and a second European Tour title just two weeks with the new Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball.

Lahiri, who won recently the 2015 Malaysian Open, began the final round seven shots off the lead but a closing 69 was enough to force extra holes as overnight leader Chowrasia stumbled to a 76.

The home pair returned to the par five 18th for the play-off and with Chowrasia unable to make par after hooking his tee shot into the trees, Lahiri holed from ten feet for birdie.

“It’s incredible – starting today I didn’t really think I had a chance,” said Anirban Lahiri. “It was one of the toughest days ever that I’ve played golf at Delhi Golf Club and I’m really happy to have accomplished this: it’s a childhood dream”.

Victory moves Lahiri to second on The Race to Dubai and cements his place in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking, with a Masters Tournament invite in April now looking certain. This second win comes in his 41st event at th European Tour.
