September 9, 2014 – Clicgear Industrial Design Ltd. has announced that its newest product, the Clicgear Model 8.0 four wheel folding golf cart, has been awarded the prestigious International Red Dot Design Award in Essen, Germany, for outstanding excellence in industrial design.

Red Dot is one of the largest and most competitive worldwide design competitions, making this a great achievement for the young design team at Clicgear.

“We were so thrilled when we found out we had won”, said Kevin Kimberley, the lead designer at Hong Kong based Clicgear. “However, it took several emails back and forth with Germany to find out, but we were very excited when we were absolutely sure we’d won. I guess we just couldn’t believe it at first. This was a very long and detailed project, so this result is very rewarding”.

Golf push carts have become very competitive and the market has really grown up in the last ten years with a much bigger emphasis on good functional designs with lots of value added features. Companies now focus on looks and ergonomics to increase their market share and not just price. Basic cheap folding carts just don’t make the grade anymore. This trend is one that Clicgear helped to start back in 2006 with the release of the three wheeled Model 1.0. A cart that has also become a standard of good cart design.
