November 18, 2024 – After already locking up the 2024 Player of the Year Award, Nelly Korda added her seventh win of the season this weekend at en The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican with a winning score of 14-under. Team TaylorMade player erased what was a six-shot deficit in the third round and stayed patient throughout the final round to outrun a crowded leaderboard and win by three.

Korda began her run on the 11th hole of Bradenton Country Club when she made five straight birdies to go from two-shots back to two-shots in front. With her Spider Tour X L-Neck, Korda one putted holes 11-16. She also missed just one fairway in the final round with her Qi10 Max driver.

In historical context, Korda is now the first American since 1990 to win 7+ times in a season. She is also just the third player in LPGA Tour history to have a season with 6+ wins, a victory in the Solheim Cup and earn Player of the Year honors. Plus, earlier this season, Korda became the third player ever to win five consecutive tournaments on the LPGA Tour.

“The reason why I picked the Qi10 Max driver is the look of it compared to the other models. When I put it down and look at it I feel like I can hit any shot I want with the subtle blue face and silver topline. THE SWITCH TO TP5x GOLF BALL

“Nelly was looking to bring the spin down, especially on her driver, so we did some testing in September,” said TaylorMade Senior Tour Manager Ryan Ressa.

“We saw the benefits of TP5x in her driver and irons bringing the spin down a couple hundred RPMs. Then, around the greens, her launch on chips was a little bit lower and she generated more spin around the greens with TP5x than TP5. She produced a lot more check in a preferred trajectory coming off of the TP5x versus the TP5. She’s been happy with the ball ever since.”

ANOTHER WIN FOR SPIDER PUTTERS

Ahead of the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews, Nelly Korda requested to test a few Spider models prior her arrival. The TaylorMade Tour team in Europe then built another model with a short sight line at TaylorMade’s Carlsbad HQ and shipped it to Scotland prior to her practice rounds beginning.

Korda chose the short sight line head with an L-Neck hosel, put it through the paces in practice and has played it since. The stability and consistency of strikes, especially on mis-hits, is why Nelly has continued to have her Spider in the bag over her previous blade gamer.
