August 13, 2024 – ECCO Golf has announced that all three medalists in the Womens’ Olympic Golf event competed in Hybrid ECCO Golf shoes, marking a special moment for the brand.

ECCO Golf ambassador Lydia Ko, wearing ECCO GOLF Tray secured the gold medal with a birdie at the 72nd hole, adding a sparkling jewel in the crown of a truly spectacular career. Her Olympic gold adds to silver and bronze medals won at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 respectively, and also means that she is the latest female player to enter the LPGA’s coveted Hall of Fame.

“I kept telling myself, ‘I’m so proud of myself’. I don’t ever really say that. I feel like that’s a weird thing to tell yourself, but I kept saying I’m proud of myself no matter what happens. To be holding gold right now, it’s crazy. I can’t believe it,” said Lydia Ko after her emotional victory.

In second place was the also ECCO Golf ambassador Esther Henseleit, wearing ECCO S-Three, who secured the silver medal with a scintillating final round 66 that included a birdie-birdie finish. “I had a bit of a struggle at the start into the back nine, but I managed to make some great pars, and then to finish birdie-birdie, is incredible,” said Henseleit.

Finally, the player who finished in bronze medal position, the X.Y. Lin, competed in Paris wearing ECCO BIOM H4 shoes – meaning that all three players on the podium wore Hybrid ECCO GOLF shoes on course this week.
